  1. I took it to mean he coaches where everyone else does... from the stands. I could be wrong though. Haven't had my Monday mistake yet, but it's still early! LOL

  2. Ill go ahead and address this as well. Ive been following catholic school football in the city for years and this just simply isn't true. Chatard and Cathedral have gone hand in hand since the beginning of time. Ill agree, the balance tipped for 4-5 years up until last year. Those were abnormally GREAT cathedral teams with D1 guys all over the field. How they arrived at cathedral is neither here nor there. But before this run was Chatard winning in '12 and nearly winning in '13 if it werent some guy playing for the Redskins now. Heard hes having an OK season :P. Regardless, Chatard and Cathedral returned to its ultimate form the past 2 years and theyre 2 of the top 4 teams in the state this year. To say theyre not in the same breath is absolutely ridiculous. Gold helmets and a castle for a school doesnt warrant that nonsense. *mic drop*

  3. What kind of dumb-foolery are you peddling? Since 2000 Batesville leads the series 15-5....is that not consistency? Are you actually implying that Milan should replace Batesville in the EIAC? What kind of fire-water are you drinking?

  4. I didn’t know a backhanded compliment should be accepted and appreciated!! And correct if #15 doesn’t play this year we are probably 10-1 eons better than the 2019 version of Panther football MIC DROP!!!

  5. Lets face it, there were a lot of should of, could of, would of's in that game. On both sides. HH earned their victory. On a side note to Southridge. If you are ahead by a score and have to punt the ball late in the game, Punt it out of bounds...lol

  6. 14 and 20 points vs HH 22 points vs SR 35 points vs Southport in a loss. 1 good offensive showing vs a quality opponent.

  7. Proves your point?????? Crickets sounds now??? GS ball on the 18 yard line, 82 yards to go and it's 4th and 10.....oh by the way there are less than 18 seconds left IN THE GAME. Here's a brilliant idea, let's played man coverage with on single high safety, send a little pressure and win the game..........OH WAIT Allen escaped pressure, the safety killed his own CB and POOF GS scores a potential tying TD. But Hart has the ba!!s to go for two, and.......we all know the ending. EXACTLY what HH was not willing to do. And sir please don't act like I was ONLY blaming the calls. I stated that I am sure HH was content to play soft, with deep coverage (unlike SR) But since you are so astute to what transpired Friday night......the fumbles......yeah those are calls that were blown and directly affected the game. AND if your talking about a GS defender being tackled on a run by #15.....a defender throwing his hands in the air, acting like he is being mauled, and falling over does not equate to anything more than very bad acting. Yea your observation.....HH was tired.....HH plays too many seniors which will hurt the program......HH only had one guy block the field goal (I didn't know it took two, maybe it does where you coach).....I blame official (have for years).....you can't believe Hart didn't go for the TD because he should've known better.......blah blah blah

  8. Alexandria only has an "explosive" offense against really bad teams.

  9. No, you actually did say that...

  10. Wonder where Reitzguy played but now coaches? great game by two tough teams. Give credit to GS for correcting mistakes from game 1 and give tons of credit to HH for finding a way. Friday should be another great battle.

  11. wouldn't having 7 turnovers and 2 safeties and the penalties be the definition of being "out played" Not trying to start a fight here, but that to me seems like one team played well, the other team didn't which led to the results of the 2 games.

  12. They probably were tired, but not wore down. Yes they have played 4 quarters of football this year. The big stat is this GS ran 70 offensive plays. That in and of itself led to some tired kids. HH likes to control the clock and the tempo with it's offense, this then leads to HH staying relatively fresh throughout the game. I can assure that #3, #15, #23, #25 hell all of them for that matter could've and would've played a 5th quarter if need be. Gibson did play better defensively!! I will give credit where credit is due, they were committed to being much more physical in the re-match. Desperation, psyche, confidence and momentum, especially in high school athletes, can quickly change a game. I would be willing to bet anything had a couple of things (calls) been different in the 1st half, and not given GS that confidence and momentum, things may have been a little different. All in all it was one of the best games I have ever witnessed, with a season on the line, played by both teams. As I stated in an earlier post, it's a shame anyone had to lose.

  13. Can they both lose? At least some controversy so neither can claim absolute victory. Really though, I'm torn. I want Memorial to win, but I don't want them to gain success points so they can return to 3A. Regardless, it's impressive for Central to have continued success given its history over the years. A strong Central program benifits all of Evansville and SW Indiana.

  15. I would agree that strength of schedule plays a big role. You can play several teams that don't have a winning record, and one with a winning record. Look at the type of competition that both LaVille and Lewis Cass play. If LaVille plays teams that do not have a winning record, there is a reason for that. and would reflect on preparedness. If Lewis Cass plays teams that have a winning record, there is a reason for that, and would reflect on preparedness. Just as cpg1970 said . . . it is tournament time. Anything can happen! Cass is a senior-dominated team and that has its advantages. Both LaVille and Lewis Cass have big--play guys. Had a chance to watch Lewis Cass ... Nice team ... not afraid to mix it up. Very Physical. Playmakers. These things stand out to me . . . . who can run the ball more efficiently? Field position? What offense can keep the other defense on the field the longest? Turnovers? LaVille's offense can not be predictable .... LaVille has to establish a running game and that starts up front ... LaVille has to play assignment defense. If somebody gets caught sleeping, that big-play will happen. Might be Captain Obvious here This could be an instant classic or this could be a blowout. That, my friends, is why we play the games. I'm glad Lewis Cass is fired up for this one. They are #1 and should be fired up for every game they play, not just this one. I would, however, like to think that LaVille is fired up for this one, as well. I think LaVille will travel well. Bottom Line: Execution! Execution! Execution! as always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007

  16. Correct. Tri West won in a route over Andrean 49-27 for the championship. HH lost to TW 14-6 in semi-state. I still can't believe that game on Friday night. Hats off to both teams for a game fans will likely never forget. HH could have easily rolled over as things weren't going their way, especially late, but they stuck it out kept battling. WOW! The Patriots turned the page and were back at it early on Saturday morning. Southridge will be another tough battle! Glad to be back in the The Jungle for this one! GO PATRIOTS!

  17. Are people forgetting about Merrillville ? The Pirates just beat a Jeff team who beat Lawrence Central . Carmel only beat LC by 2 scores . I believe Merrillville would at least give Carmel a good game if it happened .

  18. Chatard Vs West Lafayette. if Chatard was playing in the south like they have and probably should, this would likely be the state championship game....although I wouldn’t count Heritage hills out on the matter. That team seems like a special one...one of their fans here said they will have to replace 21 of 22 starters on the team...something crazy with that said Southridge @ Heritage Hills will be a good one. First game of the two was 7-7 at the half. Second half got out of hand really fas. Bunch of turnovers and HH was scored 5 times on 15 offensive plays. Nobody should look over Southridge. Even after their phenomenal QB decided to focus on baseball/basketball, losing a ton to graduation after a 2017 title + semi state appearance in 2018, AND getting bumped up to 3A in the second toughest sectional for 3A....they are legit. What a coaching job being done over there. Next man up and don’t miss a beat

  22. Valpo is currently #2 in 5A and could be top 5 regardless of class. They are much improved over last years team that lost to Carmel 14-10. Merrillville barely losing to Valpo this year tells me the pirates are pretty good.

  23. Thank God these game are played out on the field...GS is a really good team. All good teams aren’t perfect and these HS kids deal with enough adversity out on that field. If the boys looked tired in your version, then maybe they were, BUT they hung tough and won. They did exactly what they needed to do, rather than pray GS misses, they knew they had to somehow get a block, which they did. Same boys played in this game that blitzed GS 49-14. GS looked tired in that game— in my opinion. BUT GS regrouped and had a great run. Credit GS by putting 8 guys in the box all night. But they did that the first game too. HH deserved to win... 11-0 for many reasons and being tired is not one of them! GS is a class program and as T32 mentioned in another post reply, we only make each better in games like this... SR - GS - And HH constantly push each other. In fact this years big 3 in the PAC could toe to toe with ANY team in the SIAC this year meaning Central, Memorial MD and Castle. Reitz, North, Bosse all would be ran off the field based on what “I” see.... I’m a grid Coach too in this cyber football field!!

  24. I never said anything about Milan until you came into an EIAC thread talking a bunch of smack about Batesville, and how Milan beat them this year. I didn't initiate it, you did. Batesville was not great this year, I can't deny that, but to act as though Batesville is inferior to Milan is just ignorant. Like your comment saying Milan should replace Bateville, who won 3A Conference last year, in the EIAC. Again, ignorant. I never said Milan was a bunch of chumps, I said YOU were a chump...and I stand by that...chump!

  28. Still a fan of the Wolves but all those yards came from a season played against teams with a combined win loss record of 38 wins 68 losses. Not like they were facing high caliber defenses all year. Wishing good luck to the Wolves anyway, but not sure they can beat a running team of NV's quality.

  29. Hahahahahaahahahahahahahahahaha Go back a few posts, i clearly stated that when Winamac lost to Knox, Pioneer and LaVille i didn't feel that Winamac shot themselves in the foot. Those teams were clearly better. Winamac could have played an a++ game and wouldn't have beat any of those. Winamac played worse offensively friday night then They did against Pioneer in 2018 and our offense gave up 36 points!

  31. We did not cancel any game this year. Friday the game was suspended due to the weather. On Saturday we were at the school ready to get on the bus when we were called and told the game was cancelled because officials could not be found for the game.

  34. I bet Coach Zolman will try Archbold in the backfield. Even though he is Goode's "go to" receiver on many of the important downs, he has played RB in the past and the Spartans had success running against the Charges last time out. The now-injured Hardwick accounted for almost half of the 200+ yards Homestead gained against Carroll that night, but I could see Archbold running for 100 plus if given the chance. If Archbold does slide into the backfield, Goode will most-likely look to Little as his "go to" guy, plus he still has Kistler. Kistler has been hauling in and dropping fewer receptions over the past several weeks. Plus, he had a big game against Carroll earlier this year. Even with the tweaks that Homestead should make on offense, their defense must not allow Carroll (or their next opponent if they advance) to run on them the way that Noblesville did on Friday. But I do agree with many that Homestead should give Carmel or Westfield a good game. Carroll could, too, but they would have to play a near perfect game to make that happen.

  35. You beat the teams you are suppose to beat, period. If not, that is underperforming. Any way you look at it. Its a great season so far, it will still be a good season if PU beats us, but coulda shoulda is underperforming, uncharted waters or not.

  38. We go on a summer circuit to see size as well, typically we see Andrean every year, but missed this past year. We have went to Michigan City the past few years saw them and New Prairie as well this past summer. At Manchester camp, went against Mississenewa, SB St Joe just to name a few. Also hosted Highland and Bremen at our place this past summer too. West Lafayette's OL/DL in 2018 makes Andrean's size look small, oh and those Karlaftis kids were ok as well. The point is, we have to get our boys used to seeing size and speed of the Hoosier Conference and what we knew would be more than likely Andrean at some point, week 10 11, or in this case 12. Andreans size is very good, their defense is good as well. Their OL is good. Their Skill kids are good, but its not like we haven't seen it before, which it seems like according to your account, was a shock for your Wolves this past week as you guys were not used to seeeing that size and speed combo before. Fumbling the 2 out of the 1st 4 offensive plays put you in a hole, which can be difficult to over come. Appreciate the well wishes. We will give it the ole Bomber try.

  39. Well, well, well... everyone jumped ship on the Blue Bucs...everyone except me...the 8ball doesn’t lie! now for this week??? EC vs. Mooresville I agree with the clown. EC had their hiccup. I think they will come back from this past week determined and will play a much better football game...they better or they may be joining the Bulldogs and watching from outside the lines. Stinktown vs. Pirates This could be a good game, but I do believe that after this week I will have to become an EC guy as I don’t think the pirates can overcome the Tigers. They are too strong up front and their passing/run game balance will prove too much for the Bucs. Wait a minute! That’s the Pirate pops talking (I’ve already had about 12 this morning and there’s plenty of Pirate pops left)...Lawrenceburg will be stunned this week...just like Batesville tried to act like they were shocked that they lost. the Pirates are playing inspired football right now! Emotion carries them...lawrenceburg will over look the Pirates and they will plunder stinktown and bring the sectional championship aboard the Pirate Ship!

  40. LOL.. well ... lemme clarify something--- I was born at Deaconess in Evansville... way back. But my youngest years were spent in Henderson Kentucky where my Dad was 1st Assistant to Bull Dawson at Henderson City High.. home of the Flash. Dad was set up to take over for Bull.. but every year he'd decide to stay another year. Finally Dad took a head coach job in Sullivan. I was in the 3rd grade. Everything was different. Henderson City was a serious football team, and dad was a serious coach. He lasted 3 years before getting the axe. We ended up in Linton... 15 miles to the east, as Dad was Athletic Director/Ass't Principal. So quite naturally, and despite having several close friends from Sullivan... I goal was never ..ever.. to lose the the Golden Arrows. Which I'm proud to say in my years never happened. So.. yeah.. I might not root for the Arrows ALLLLLL the time, but I not as stringently full of hate as I was all those years ago either!! And I like Blaine Powell.. so that makes it easier!

  42. 7 - 2 and you know the bowl invites are growing. At least one more win and they will be playing in a respectable bowl game this year. It is still going to be hard to get win #8. The bucket game can go either way in this rivalry. The other 2 games? A puncher's chance? We'll see.

  43. That was my freshman year at Castle, I had to tickets to the game, but ended up staying home, because of being sick, but ended up listening to it on the radio .Castle had like a 24 in a row winning streak and also ranked #1 in class 3 A.The senior class was shocked, they pretty much didn't know what it was like to lose from their 7th grade year and up until that game. That also, was the same year the Stanford, Cal. game where the band ran out on the field, thinking the game was over .Such crazy memories, it was a great game in 83, just wish i could actually been there, even though we lost.Hoping the game is a great one, just hoping Castle comes up with the W Friday night.I guess Mule you aren't making the game ? That is to bad should be a good one .

  48. Guaranteed a PAC vs. EIAC Regional. Has anyone worked out where it would be played? I don't believe Heritage Hills or Southridge have ever played Lawrenceburg or Greensburg. The PAC has much respect for the EIAC dating back to the Batesville days. The bus rides? Not so much.
