  1. Cathedral demolished Trinity, and New Pal handled Center Grove. But any 6A team would trash them in the first round of sectionals? That makes sense

  2. Columbus East was 0-10 in 1997 and 0-10 in 1998. A lot of teams beat up on CE those years lol.

  4. Tonight was a little extra special for Warsaw (6A), Knox (3A) and Eastside (2A) as all three schools won their first ever football Sectional Championships. Congratulations to all three of these programs and best of luck going after their first ever Regional Championships next Friday night.

  5. Round number two for these Adams county schools who share a school district border, I would expect Bern to shut the town down when they parade to Monroe next week. Do the jets have anything for the starfires this time? One loss between both teams.Big rivalry.

  6. Cass just has speed, speed and more speed. I think LaVille could have played their A+++ game and still wouldn't have won. LaVille bumped up when it was their best chance to go on a big run.. Id have no doubts theyd be making a trip to semi state had they not seen an enrollment uptick and remained 1a.. Even if they beat Pioneer in sectional next year they'd have to deal with Andrean and LaVille won't beat them.

  7. With that Boot Czarnecki has? That's an automatic 1 or closest thing to it.

  8. Whether you are rooting for Cathedral or New Pal, I think that the 5A tournament is the most intriguing because you also have Valparaiso and FW Dwenger waiting to play spoiler (in the finals) for the winner. Can’t wait to see how it plays out

  9. I know a 6A school playing for a regional championship that lost to both teams during the regular season. Hint: It's the team your boys are playing next Friday.

  10. Yes they did. Difference was Andrean forced those 2 fumbles on tackles of Boone Grove, we just flat out dropped the ball 3 times in our schemes, hasn't been an issue all year, just bit up hard last night, but man what a fight by our kids. Never flinched, remained positive and focused all game, heart breaks for them as they were devastated obviously but know they empty the tank and sometimes the ball doesn't bounce your way, so is life. Take a few weeks off and reflect, then start looking to put the puzzle pieces back together. We have a lot of very good young football players out their tonight who will continue to grow and for a few get healthy and repaired bigger and better in 2020.

  11. I went to this game last night. Cathedral is 100% the team to beat. Their defense is the best in the state by far. Their offense is top notch as well. I could see cathedral running away with this by 21 points or more

  12. What’s everyone staring at?

  13. You don’t mention Cathedral’s defense in your remarks, but I think you have to mention that with the offensive stars you pointed out. In my mind, run defense is our biggest strength. 300lb+ Sean Oldham at nose and David Guhl at DT are both excellent linemen. And D1 bound Shiloh Means is a Bob Sanders-esque hammer at free safety. It will definitely be won or lost in the trenches when Nee Pal has the ball. Cathedral has given up most of the points this year through the air. We’ve rarely had a RB run it down our throats. So, it will be great to see if Spegal gets it done. The Irish tailgate will be starting early for this one!! Let’s gooooo.

  14. Jay....................I know you are reading this. The MIC is a great conference for sure. But isn't Carmel, with an enrollment of 5000 supposed to beat Westfield 2100? Warren Central 3700 probably should beat Lawrence Central 2300. It's one thing to be proud of your conference, but thumping your chest after beating up on smaller schools is kind of ridiculous.

  15. Too bad Memorial got bumped to 4A. This would be a great year for a rematch, but I agree, Chatard is now the heavy favorite in 3A.

  16. Give credit to Princeton. They came out with a great game plan to keep the Lincoln passing game in check (Vickers went for 100 yds, 1 TD 1 int), and the Alices did nothing to help themselves in the 1st half with 2 turnovers and untimely penalties. Meanwhile, the Tigers were the more disciplined team and seemed to have more focus. They took a 10-6 lead into the break. Worst half of football all year for the Alices..right there with the MV game. Lincoln finally got things together and unleashed Rae Haislip on the ground. He carried for 229 in this one, most of it in the 2nd half. He finally looks healthy after battling an ankle all season. And really the Alices just put their foot on the Tigers’ throat and were all but dominant to close out the game. So Congratulations to Coach Salters and staff! First sectional title since 2006 for the program! Excited to have regional football at Inman Field! It’s been too long!

  17. WHY STOP NOW?! I will up my donation to $125 if the Tigers can go into Da Region for a 3rd time this season and come back eastbound on US 30 with a Regional Championship!

  21. Fans of both teams have not been frequent posters here so far but maybe that will change now that both have reached the final 8 in 2A. Early prediction from John Harrell gives no love to the Wildcats 🐱 for 3rd week in a row. Despite being a near 9 pt favorite in Sagarin, JH is picking TC @ home, 24 - 23. CalPreps gives MD the nod, 22 - 14, on a neutral field so maybe take back a FG and go with 22 - 17(?). MD will have to travel 3 hours north for what will likely be a Saturday afternoon game. Any TC fans with advance info on day & time? Can they overcome the long drive and use the 3rd consecutive Harrell slight as bulletin board motivation? Long term weather forecast calls for mostly sunny day with temps in mid 40s, dropping into mid 20's at night. TC plays on turf so field conditions should not be much of an issue, regardless of weather. TC fans, if you would be so kind as to share your recommendations of the better local eateries, it would be much appreciated. I personally prefer true local options instead of national chains but any feedback will be greatly appreciated. If there is anything most West Siders enjoy besides our Bud Light and Half Pot tkts, it is good food! Google says best route is I-69 north to Indy, I-465 East around Indy, then south on I-74 (~ 3hrs) but if there are other/better alternatives, esp when you get close to school, those would be appreciated as well. Best of luck to both teams for a well-played and injury free game. Hope everyone travels safely.

  25. I think I wasn't clear when I posted. I didn't mean which current coach should get it. I was asking who would be somebody you would make a run at if you were in charge. Maybe you really would just give it to one of the guys there already. Just seems like that could be a prime job. I don't know the current coaches they are probably great guys. One has a nice looking resume but hasn't seemed to win in Elkhart. One just had a great year but doesn't have a glowing overall record and hasn't won anything. I am not trying to slight anybody I don't know any other way to say that. Just seems like there are some guys they would want to make a run at like the New Palestine guy? Lafayette Jeff? Northwood? Michigan City? Would Bart Ball work at a place like Elkhart? I don't know there are probably a bunch more who I don't even know about. That's what I was asking. If you are the AD, who is your wish list? It's just meant as a hypothetical.

  26. If you don’t think the quality of football up and down has improved in the HCC then you have blinders on. And just to add one more thing to this post..... the 2 teams that were supposed to make noise in this thing were taken out by schools IN THEIR OWN CONFERENCE. Call it implosion, call it not ready for prime time, but they didn’t fold to MIC teams. I’m somewhat confident Zionsville will be all Ben Davis can handle. If it’s a blowout I’ll gladly eat crow. Oh yeah, one more thing, it will be CG vs Carmel for all the marbles.

  28. I think possibly the new juggernaut in WRC football is Riverton Parke? They have really turned things around with 3 wins this past season.

  29. Not sure who or what you’re talking about outside help? I’m not going to ask my son about it either. The only time you seem to post is when you make shots at Brian Moore. I’m grateful my son played 2 years for him, as NV parents are for Crabtree, and all other WRC coaches as a whole. What I do know is that my son and his friends are devastated after the most dramatic loss I’ve ever seen in my 45 years of watching/attending/playing high school sports. It’s been a long 18 hours here in Parke County. The fans got what they wanted. My hats off to Coach Crabtree and his staff. They find ways to win, their kids show up in crunch time and that’s signs of a good program. It was a clean, respectful battle and was awesome to watch. Go get Lutheran! I hope these two teams stay on top of the wrc for many years to come! Parke Heritage is losing some great players and this senior class was the best. Good luck falcons! @Woody_Hayes represent the WRC

  30. I don't think people were as outraged that BD and Warren played in Sectional in 2017 and 2018 as they were that Ben Davis and Warren were in the SAME Sectional in 2017 and 2018. BD also played LC in 2017. BD belongs with Pike, Avon, and Brownsburg in Sectional. Period. Until they seed the tournament (NEVER) we'll keep getting these funky Sectional alignments.

  34. @ptr the computer ratings have south by 20 points. John harrell has south by 10 . However you cant take any team lightly. I think south should be fine but fc does have a good rb and if they can pass it will be a tough offense to deal with. I could see this being a high scoring game . South d line seems to be firing on all cylinders , Darnell boyce has missed several games this year for various reasons but with him and cody root and bomba they have some real size there. Inside backer went out last night hope he isnt out next friday.

  36. You said that no one stopped Cathedral’s offense all year, and I gave you an example of a team that limited the offense’s ability to drive the ball. That wasn’t me saying that Cathedral didn’t win...

  37. Actually 84-4, how dare you disrespect Coach Ralph's record. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 but I agree 100%. And the Irish may very well win, but I think the only surprise would be if it is a blowout either way.

  45. IHSAA Champions network should have picked up the WL at Chatard game, and let Hamilton County TV Sports pick up Westfield at Carmel. The other IHSAA Champions Network will be at the East Central at Mooresville game (which will be another good one). WHMB TV 40 is at Franklin vs New Palestine. Surprised SRN selected Scecina vs Heritage Christian. Perhaps all the networks were upset also that Chatard wasn't playing at the field of Champions and boycotted!
