  1. No question the IHSAA hit the bong before drawing the 3A alignment down here, but VL took advantage of the opportunity. GS had its shot and didn’t finish. Southridge was up against a tough challenge and can thank the Success Factor. It’s tough to move up a class and win a Sectional.

  2. In all fairness I have lots of respect for VL, but it's hard to take this game seriously when you have Southridge and Gibson sitting at home. Thank you IHSAA in your infinite wisdom.

  3. I think I should be considered. I'm under 40 and am currently 8-2 in fantasy football this season. I've had a few weeks where I was the underdog, but pulled off the upset...some people in the league say I have wisdom beyond my years.

  5. Last year Cass had to plan for it twice in three weeks...Ugh! It is not fun. Very hard to simulate in practice. It takes about two series to get up to speed. By then you are down 14 before you can blink.

  6. People do not realize that Time of Possession might be the number 1 stat that can consistently even games. In my opinion, New Prairie was much better than Mishawaka this year, far more than the 1 point we won by, but we only had the ball for something like 10 plays the entire 2nd half..............those Caveman run that clock on everyone. Even more devastating if you can get a turnover.

  7. I was sugar coating. I can’t imagine Sectional 32 was the result of a bong hit either....whatever a bong hit is.....sounds like it might hurt, though.

  8. STC is legendary... So this is funny....my daughter is a cheerleader and she has my house full of cheerleaders tonight (obviously lots of excitement among Cutler's Cuties), and in the midst of all the annoying noise I hear from the next room one of them say, "did you know that Lawerenceburg's coach dresses as some perverted male prostitute clown?" So I bust up in the room and ask if they are referring to the Stink Town Clown. "Yup, that's him!" SMH---girls, there is no way that is the coach. If it is he will likely be far to intoxicated to coach Saturday....so I was thinking why not just go ahead and fill that spot STC? Great night for a guest coaching spot!

  9. Spegal is great, no doubt, but, someone needs to talk about that O-line. The yards after contact are Spegal, but, those long runs were about great blocking. How many times did you guys fail to set the edge because your DE got hooked? Answer: a lot. New Pal won this game at the LOS, both offensively and defensively. Someone give me an Amen.

  10. Bloomington South 40 Floyd Central 14 Final Competitive game for 1 half. FC outscored 27-0 in the 2nd half. Wenkers Wright tried to play on a bad ankle but he just wasn’t himself and that was costly. South was clearly the better team though and I tip my hat to them and wish them luck next week. FC had a great season finishing 9-3 and return several starters for next season. That’s it for the HHC. Better luck next season.

  15. Mark Brown is the Associate Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator at North Central in Indianapolis. He was an assistant at LCC and part of 4 state titles, then he had a successful stint as the HFC at Carroll (Flora) before reuniting with Coach O'Shea at North Central.

  17. Surrounded by hillsides - that is the best part. That and you can stand on the elevated portion of The Pit and actually SEE the game. Consider it to be like "club" seating at your favorite NFL venue. SInce this is Indiana, home of open wheel dirt racing, think of The Pit as the dirt track equivalent of Bloomington Speedway, but without the woods. Often there is no smell. Sometimes you might smell KFC down the road. Sometimes you might smell bourbon being distilled. Who doesn't like and bourbon AND fried chicken? (Other than @TheDoc) For the STC to know I didn't forget him - since Connie's is to the southeast it is rare for the smell of G-Strings, baby oil, and Summer's Eve to make it over to Dick Meador Stadium. Only on very special occasions does that waft over. Seriously, the visitors stands aren't large, but c'mon 100 people? They look smaller than they are because of the scale of the place being down in the pit. You can find somewhere to watch the game, I promise. Why does ANY regular fan care about the size of the press box? Doesn't affect me.... You get a smidge of credit for this point, the trucks and traffic aren't ideal, but it isn't like they are going by at 60 mph either. That Tiger growl and The Voice of the Tigers is one of the best things about a trip to the Burg's Pit. The Voice of the Tigers is truly an asset to the community.

  18. Rico, Rico, Rico 1.2.3. you are basing your opinion off of what, please tell STC. I am sure you know tons about the Pats but tell us what you know about the Tigers attack? The only thing easy in the Dirty Burg are lap dances and boogie night girls!

  20. Is it like getting high on the pot? I tried it once, told you guys a few years ago I didn’t much care for it. I stood on that toilet lid for hours and all I got was dizzy and leg cramps.

  21. The drive featured 22 plays, all but one of them runs, three fourth-down conversions as well as another on third and 11. Bohannon tooted the ball 14 times on that possession alone. This line from the attached article made me chuckle a bit! Seems to be many more of these types of typos than in yesteryear.

  22. 2009 RCHS vs Wheeler game. Wheeler had some sick dudes on offense, was running up tempo, a bunch of formations to keep you scrambling. We got down 12 to start the game and clawed back to make it 14-12 at halftime then got the ball to start the 3rd quarter. Held it the entire quarter and scored on 1st play of the 4th quarter. https://www.nwitimes.com/sports/high-school/indiana/rensselaer-plays-keep-away-from-wheeler-defends-title/article_82a8f050-71d5-5e55-bb1b-cdf66f8946cd.html

  30. This is a good story! My doctor's son was very sick just a few years ago, needed a bone marrow transplant to help him get well. Well, the bone marrow transplant worked and he now plays football at Zionsville. His name is Camden Cooper, and he went from patient in the hospital to hero on the football field in a few short years. He caught the winning TD against Brownsburg. BTW, it was his only TD reception of the season, so far. Good luck to the Eagles Friday night!!!!

  31. I think Dwenger will move up to 6A at the next reclassification. Dwenger's Sectional isn't exactly murderer's row, and the Lafayette sectional teams are lackluster. So, I can see Dwenger winning the Semi-State and making the state title game the next two years and moving up

  33. I get what you're saying in regards to Reitz and Castle. Maybe you don't have that one dominant big school team in it this year but in my opinion there were a lot more chances to actually lose a game this year. There have been years when Bosse, Harrison, North and Central were not very good. This year it was Harrison and maybe Bosse to a lesser extent. Reitz found themselves a bit the last 2 or 3 weeks of the season so they were not a terrible team either. Also, when you play that many solid teams I think there's a greater chance of injury. Castle cares more about their band than their football team. Still a tough place to play for teams that want to pass with the ridiculous crown on their field.

  34. I guess that means MD is probably pretty happy that SR went up due to the success factor??? Let’s not start the SIAC vs PAC thing till offseason when we’re all really bored, come on. What Chris is simply saying is that when Reitz/Castle are good/strong- it makes the conference that much better. With them being a bit down...kinda takes the “sting” outta the conference a bit. Which ive always wondered but never really asked...why in the world is Castle not better than they are?? Good lord- you’d think with that enrollment and socioeconomic set up they’d freakin roll??

  35. I personally don’t think they were hitting the bong on this one. I think they knew exactly what they were doing. If you don’t have the data to back up a all in tournament, adjust it so you will.

  36. Since this thread is now premiering on The Food Network (admittedly my fault), I am leaning heavy toward the Acme. Going to call them to confirm the chili, though I’m thinking “Big Eyed Fish” as a fallback (liked their menu) if no chili at Acme. Considered impressing the better half and getting reservations at “Club Soda” but me being that thoughtful might be too much of a shock to her system. Add that I’m cheap. Safe travels to everyone attending. Just an FYI to Fort Wayne HS football junkies that might be looking to go to a live game. This Chatard team is pretty fun to watch. I know Carmel is in town and will be having their standard wine and cheese event pregame and a cotillion postgame.....but if you just like football.......

  39. Np and Coach Radtke know football I'm suggesting your fan base isnt acting very educated on football. So to answer your questions, schedule Np played and beat the worst Penn team I have seen, mishawaka is clearly rebuilding, and you lost to Elkhart central. Then you smoke a bunch of south bend schools with little to no talent. This tougher schedule you played was a combined 63-68. Out of both teams Hobart actually played the best team in a losing effort against Merrillville who is better than any team NP played also combined Hobarts opponents were 68-62 on the season so to me its arguable. Better record is a wash since only this game really matters. Its impossible to know of the teams switched schedules who would have a better record. But I bet both teams lose to Merrillville. Best player most likely Ketterer but last time I checked it takes 11 on O and 11 on D to win. And overall I think hobart has more players. I hope and pray that the actual team has your mindset in regards to what it takes to win these games. 1 player has never won a football game. As far as the polls go, I invite you to look at the final media and coaches polls, take a hard look at the top teams in each class before sectionals started most of them didnt even win sectionals. Now a quick question for you how many Hobart games have you actually watched. I have seen all of NPs and all of Hobarts.
