  8. The Cowboys should be considered for contraction, the league is watered down with too many teams and the Cowboys consistently under perform. Those players are being put into a situation that is obviously dangerous to their mental and physical health. Plus the league would be better without Jerry...

  10. An interesting question would be a "Mount Rushmore" of Indiana High School Football Programs. That could get dicey!

  11. Great, great points. Sustainability at the head coach position is so invaluable or even hiring a coach who was on staff at the school for the previous head coach. Hobart seems on the upswing again which is great but FC being in 6A renders a future championship almost impossible due to the big 4 of the MIC. Jimtown hasn't won state since 2005 and hasn't even won a regional since 2009. Roncalli has only won one state championship in the last 14 years, albeit with several sectional and regional championships in between, but that's not the typical dynastic Roncalli program we all know.

  12. Thanks FPO! Very interesting! In a way it reminds me of the Fort Wayne Pistons of the NBA.

  15. It's amazing to see some of these top 25 programs that have been good since the 80s. Tradition never graduates is a real thing for almost all of these schools in the top 25. Some of the top 25 teams though that haven't been uber-successful in the last decade or so (or more): Jimtown, Hobart, Roncalli, Luers, Franklin Central, Sheridan, Ritter. I know some of these schools still win sectionals and regionals but they're not as proficient and dynastic as they used to be. It makes you wonder what happened to those schools from their previous hey-days.

  23. But if you'll visit RCHS, @Coach Nowlin will take you by the Wagon Wheel and, if you're benching 600 and can run a 4.4 40, he'll open his own wallet and buy you a Wagon Master to entice/recruit you. I heard that @CoachDurham and the boys from South Newton heard about this and tried to pass themselves off as potential Bomber recruits. The jig was up though when @Coach Nowlin almost lost a hand when the Rebel coaches hit the Wagon Masters when they were delivered to the table.

  24. Jack Doyle went to Cathedral as well. Arguably the best all-time NFLer to hail from Indiana is the great Rod Woodson, who went to Snider and Purdue.

  25. I am more than a little biased as well, but would think that West Lafayette should be under consideration. Consider this data: Overall Tournament record - 71-34 (.676) Sectional record - 53-22 (.707) overall record; 14 championships 9 regional championships 5 Semi-State Championships 2 State runner-ups 3 State Championships 2 Hall of Fame Coaches (Gordon Straley & Ernie Beck) 1 Mr. Football (Daniel Wodicka) Current Coach, Shane Frye, has been at WL for 8 years with a record of 86-18 (.826)

  27. Joey Paridaen at Evansville North. The Huskies really improved a lot this year and, from what I hear, Paridaen deserves a lot of the credit for instilling a culture of commitment and accountability. WR Dylan McKinney was one of the best players in Southwestern Indiana. Paridaen guided Eastern Greene to an appearance in the state finals a couple years ago. Keep an eye on him.

  28. When I was in MS our Varsity football team won 6 games in 4 years and had less than 30 kids on the team. We hired a new coach my freshman year and by my Junior year was playing for the state championship with over 60 kids on a 1A roster. At a 1A or 2A school it only takes a couple of good classes or a coach that instills belief into the program for numbers to turn it around. Was the school supposed to close the doors on the program after 5 years of ineptitude and historically low numbers? In my opinion, success and numbers, especially at a small school level is cyclical. There were maybe 2-3 kids on my state championship team that would have played at a larger school, if the administration would have given up on the program it would have deprived the other 60+ kids the opportunity to be a part of something special.

  29. No - Prairie Heights' coaching staff has done a great job providing the program with stability, a rise in numbers, and steady improvement. @BLKnights7 they've been 5-5 a couple times in the last 15 or so years. In parts of the 70's and 80's they were very good. They will continue to improve, in my opinion.

  32. I would agree with a majority of those.. you can twist and turn them anyway you want.. but that’s a strong 25... I might also add Evansville Reitz and Memorial.

  33. Socioeconomically, it's an upgrade. Free/Reduced Lunch at Jeff: 61% Free/Reduced Lunch at Fishers: 17% Tradition (2010 state championship), 1200 more students, great conference, one of the most desirable cities in the Midwest, and a rising population with plenty of socioeconomic benefits.

  36. Very attractive. Best job open right now. You have tradition(state championship) and stability. Both of which Noblesville does not have. Seems like Fishers also has better athletes I think with the right hire, Fishers could be better than Avon and Brownsburg.

  37. DT would have to get out of his recliner, brush off all of the Cheeto's/Dorito's from his shirt, get in the passenger seat of his car so the wife can drive him to Boone County to check out the socio-economics of Western Boone county to be able to make his assessment of the affluence of the area..., and that ain't happening! 🤔

  38. Cooper Jones from Valpo. His dad is Eric Jones played for Les Klein at Portage back in the late 80s and went on to play three years of defensive end for Lou Holts at Notre Dame. Would like to see Cooper become the first player from the region to be named Indiana Mr. Football since he competed in the state finals.

  40. I mean no disrespect to any program just my thoughts and opinions on 1A next year. South Adams will be the preseason favorite and will be absolutely loaded. They have an awesome group of young men that has size, talent and athleticism not to mention an incredible coach and staff. I think you have an incredible group of outstanding teams and amazing coaches following very close behind. I think LCC, Monroe Central, Adams Central and Sheridan will all be crazy talented and extremely well coached. I think it will take a great effort for someone outside of this group to get through this amazing group and surprise us all but that's why they play the games. Again I mean no disrespect to anyone just my personal thoughts. Everyone have a safe offseason and a blessed Christmas and New Year.

  42. Lafayette Jeff: Pat Shanley, early 30's LCC's DC: Max Goodin should be an excellent HC at some point North Judson: Brett Lambert : 1st year HC, Sectional Champion Curt Funk: Mississenwa : Not sure if he is considered "young" but to me he is!! K.C. Woods: Danville: Could see him eventually down the road getting into the MIC or HCC Shane Fry : West Lafayette: body of work is very impressive Joe O'Connell: River Forest: Watched River on film this year, they are starting to get their identity as well as @Bobref stated as well with Hanover Central. Both guys were together at M'ville for long time I am sure all these guys are very happy at their current spots. Just giving some love to some who earned it.

  43. For Kiser it was about making history. If I remember right, Kiser nearly swept the 1A and 2A vote to become the first 1A player to win Mr. Football.
