  1. Friends, are you among the many who are turned off by the rank commercialization of Christmas? Don’t really understand what Hanukah is all about? Can’t really get behind Kwanza? Well, don’t despair. You can still join in the holiday spirit … by celebrating Festivus, for the rest of us! Yes, it’s the Eve of Festivus. Each year at this time we recall the story of Festivus. How Festivus has been around for a long time, but burst into public consciousness during the 1997 episode of Seinfeld “The Strike.” There, Frank Costanza (George’s father) explained the origin of Festivus, as depicted in the video clip at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbfMmCf5-ds I’m so excited to pull the Festivus Pole out of the crawl space and shine it up. Mine is aircraft grade aluminum, with a very high strength to weight ratio. And you don’t have to bother with any decorations on the Festivus pole, as tinsel is distracting. Then, tomorrow, we celebrate with the traditional Festivus dinner, commencing with the Airing of Grievances, where we all berate those who have disappointed us in the past year. I’ve got a lot of problems with you people! so feel free to pile on @DT, @Muda69, @DanteEstonia, @gonzoron, or whomever. Then we move on to my favorite part: the Feats of Strength! Festivus is not ended until someone bests the master of the house in a Feat of Strength! So, I declare Festivus will continue until someone manages to pin @Coach Nowlin. Let’s get ready to rumble! Finally, let me close with a heartfelt plea that I hope reaches you at this special time of year when we must consider those less fortunate. I do hope you will find it in your hearts this year to make a donation to the Human Fund in honor of Festivus. After all, it’s money … for people. Alternatively, you could become a GID booster! May you all have the Festivus you deserve. That will truly be a Festivus Miracle! Happy Festivus!

  3. Being honest any Roncalli students that attended South Deanery Elementary Schools: Holy Name, OLG, SS Francis and Claire of Assisi, Central Catholic, Nativity, St. Barnabas, St. Jude, St. Mark, St. Roch, Lumen Christi were never going to be students at Southport, Perry Meridian, CG, Greenwood, Beech Grove, Franklin, Franklin Central, or IPS. So really they aren't losing those kids they already knew they weren't going to be at those schools.

  6. @Muda69 has disappointed me this year by only posting articles from Reason and the Mises Institute.

  7. The NAIA National Championship is tonight at 7 on. ESPN 3. Great to see local kids doing well on the collegiate level. Yep I am a bit biased.....Mikeal Griggs from New Haven is a senior. There are a handful of Northeast Indiana kids on the roster for the Knights.

  9. 1. A lack of open field speed yet fast enough to out run Ben Davis, Warren Central, Cathedral, plus other MIC defenders for long TD runs on several occasions. One heck of a shifty back too. 2. Of course he wouldn't be listed in the top 15 right now he only played 3 games his Junior season. His body of work as a Freshman and Sophomore was pretty darn good. I think you will see him jump into the top 10 for Indiana Class of 2021 if he stays healthy. 3. Difficult to compare Spegal's Junior year to Steele's Junior year because Steele only played 3 games. If you want to compare their Freshman and Soph years we can Spegal Freshman 356 carries 1,958 yds 17 TD's Spegal Sophomore 327 carries 2,385 yds 33 TD's Steele Freshman 272 carries 1,703 yds 20 TD Steele Sophomore 367 carries 2,270 yds 29 TD Compare away

  10. You really didn't answer my question. Yes, I watch soccer from time to time. It's a beautiful game, with real athletes on the field.
