  3. This thread is full of rumors and lies. Talking about programs that are supposedly contracting even though they are not. Making up stories and falsehoods, I thought we had a rule that there was no rumors on here, but oh wait, DT is one of the "good ol' boys " on here so he is allowed to say whatever he wants.

  4. What about Mark Brown. He is an asst. at North Central(Indpls) with head coach experience Carroll(Flora). I think he has been calling the shots on the offensive side of the ball for coach O'Shea. And he is a darn good o-line coach.

  8. Experts are everywhere... 2nd and 3rd hand information qualifies these days. I'm not an expert, but I'm confident my sources are a little more reliable than most. I'm sick and tired of adults acting like children in this situation. The kid isn't a pawn to get a coach fired (that is for the Coach Moore haters)... he isn't a sounding block to air your frustrations about perceived injustices. He is a kid who chose to leave a school to attend another school. The fact he is a good athlete may make him an easy target... doesn't mean he should be a target. I won't lie... Miners vs. Everyone wouldn't have been my choice for slogans. Then again... It has been sort of a self fulfilling prophecy. Lots of venom directed at Linton. Seems to me that for some... a long look in the mirror would be more beneficial. Take WRV... your feeder program was a joke for so long. You had varsity coaches who didn't see the big picture... they were working with talent that they had no hand in developing. Chased away talented players... Those same coaches failed to organize a viable feeder program. Then you hired a used car salesman dressed as a teacher/coach... he chased away a few more players. Sure... some classes had parents take the lead. The senior class was able to flourish with little direction from the varsity staff as they came through the ranks. Great parents pushed their boys to be better. I think Floyd sees the big picture as far as developing younger talent. Their feeder program is much improved. Of course, I'm not sure he even sees himself as a X's and O's type of coach or the long term fix. Eastern is where WRV was a couple years ago. Linton may be vs. Everyone, but some schools should have shirts that read vs. Ourselves... they are their own worst enemy. Their coaches, administrators, and even parents dropped the ball. Now for that 5'6" kid from WRV... he is a bulldog. A tough kid that has no quit. I wish we had a Joe Records. Evan Slover and Joe were cut from the same mold. WRV probably wishes he was a couple inches taller. He and the Stienstra kid from Shakamak would be household names if they were a little taller. Instead, Joe will keep playing hard and destroy people in his running career. He got into Lincoln's head... No doubt. Like I said, that is probably my biggest question mark for Hale at this point. Great players figure out a way to impact the game. 1st half of the WRV game... He struggled to do that in a positive way.

  9. Try and think of it in terms of economics. That may make it clearer. In a qualification format, the ability to participate in the postseason is a relatively scarce good. The demand for that good outstrips the supply. The inevitable result of demand markedly greater than supply is competition among consumers, which drives up the price. In this case, the consumers are the players, coaches, administrators, students and fans — all the stakeholders in high school football. Increased competition between consumers for that scarce good means the price consumers are willing to pay to obtain that good goes up. Simply put, in a qualification format, the stakeholders are willing to do more to get into the playoffs. This means better regular season football in Indiana.

  12. Any issue or topic is worth debating simply because there are two side that oppose each other. What happens is there are people from each camp that believe that have the definitive answer to the original post. When its all said and done the responsibility rests with the parents initially to help guide their student athlete in the best direction they can. Large university head coaches will always do what the feel is best also , but those coaches must carry a portion of responsibility to be willing to tell those athletes that on the surface that seem less likely to be a contributor and probably shouldn't join the team to look at other options. Its great to have a solid scout team to go against and I know there are kids who develop and become contributors from the walk-on ranks. With that said though, those of us who have played at the D1 level know there is always a sizable group of athletes who probably would have had a better chance to play at a smaller school and should not have chosen to part of a D1 roster just because they had the opportunity to be accepted. Either way it is a topic that has debatable merit. NEW CHAPTER!

  13. Still TBD. I believe there is at least 1 if not 2 more kids that will have opportunities (Spencer Wright is one of them)... He's an even better young man... But he was a beast in the trenches!

  19. Not a bad idea. A lot of dying rust belt towns in the Midwest. Personally Frankfort's Mayor McCheese is spending the town into oblivion, latest example being Prairie Creek Part, aka "McBarnes's Folly" that was supposed to cost "only" 4.5 million dollars, then ballooned to "only" 7.5 million dollars. Also it was supposed to be completed by mid-July 2019 yet if you drive by the work site, as I do several times a week, it isn't even close to being completed.

  20. I wonder if the Frankfort 13-year who got shot in the fact by a peer on Tuesday played football? Channeling anger into a game built around violence acts. Interesting. I'm sure DT doesn't need or want your pity. Take it somewhere else.

  21. So the main purpose of a government school is to be a defacto jobs program for the general populace? As I have stated before Frankfort High School is basically a 4A sized school with a 2A-small 3A athletic talent base. A various socioeconomic factors have to play into that. If you want to call the "veiled racist comments" the so be it. I personally have no issues with the Hispanic population in Frankfort. If I did I wouldn't have moved there 20+ years ago. Most are hard working, honest individuals just trying to provide for their family. Used to live next to a run-down "slum lord" apartment property. Always had a cordial relationship with most of the Hispancie residents. The frankly "white trash" types were the ones who caused all the trouble. Many questions about the juvenile shooting. #1 being why wasn't the firearm property secured? #2 Were these three juveniles currently enrolled at the local government school and if so, why were they not attending it at 10am in the morning as prescribed by law?

  22. Bingo. The cost for this "park" is obscene, especially since it is only about 2 acres in size.

  23. Quite the hyperbolic statement coming from you, Robert. Where will this population go? Many of them have lived in Frankfort for decades, I have been told that the relatively recent influx of immigrants came to Frankfort because they already had family here. Would Milan and Maumee townships in Allen county welcome this population with open arms should they all decide to leave Frankfort/Clinton county?

  24. Whining? I don't think so, friend. I recall probably a third or more of the names on this past season's roster being of Hispanic origin. Great! 90+% of the names on the soccer team's roster were of Hispanic origin. Basketball looks to be about 20-25%.
