  5. So because you skipped out on little league baseball games to head to the lake, that's why you didn't play baseball in high school or didn't reach your full potential as a baseball player? 😂 This sentence I can get behind. There is nothing better than growing up on or around the lakes in the summer. However - I cannot think of a single teammate/classmate that I "lost" do to this lifestyle. Hell, most of our summer workouts for football were done by 8 or 9 am! PLENTY of time left in the day to hit up the lake. If anything - the NLC is also situated in a part of the state dominated by farmland. I know for a fact we lost some guys do to this. Family had a farm and it depended on them working it all summer and into the fall. Heck, even a few guys would bail once deer hunting season began. They would rather be up in a tree than out at practice. Stick inside the boarders and head up to Minnesota! Making a trip up there near the boarder in 4 weeks.

  9. https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/494301-elizabeth-warrens-oldest-brother-dies-of-covid-19-in-oklahoma Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s (D-Mass.) eldest brother, Donald Reed Herring, has died from complications related to the novel coronavirus, the senator confirmed. He was 86. “My oldest brother, Don Reed, died from coronavirus on Tuesday evening,” Warren said in a tweet on Thursday morning. “He joined the Air Force at 19 and spent his career in the military, including five and a half years off and on in combat in Vietnam.” “He was charming and funny, a natural leader,” she added. Warren told The Boston Globe, which was first to report the news on Thursday morning, that she is “grateful to the nurses and other front-line staff who took care of my brother, but it is hard to know that there was no family to hold his hand or to say ‘I love you’ one more time.” “And now there’s no funeral for those of us who loved him to hold each other close,” she added. “I will miss my brother.” According to the newspaper, Herring’s death came three weeks after he first tested positive for the virus that has killed more than 45,000 people in the U.S., the latest John Hopkins University data show. During his time in the Air Force, Herring reportedly carried out hundreds of combat missions, served as a B-52 squadron pilot and later lieutenant colonel until he retired from his decades-long military career. He was one of Warren’s three older brothers, each of whom served in the military. All three were featured in a campaign ad earlier this year before Warren dropped out. In the ad, her brothers, only one of which is a Democrat, discussed how even though they differ with their sister on certain policy issues, the siblings were still united in their common values: “fighting for their families and their communities." According to The Boston Globe, Herring’s family said he was admitted to a hospital in February after contracting pneumonia. His family said that years ago he had a battle with cancer. The family told the newspaper that he had been recovering from his fight with pneumonia at a facility before contracting the coronavirus. They said he died days after being placed in intensive care. Not to make a person's death anything less, but .......He had battled cancer for years and was recovering from pneumonia when he contracted this and 86 years old.....

  10. You are dazed and confused.. why does everyone think that people are dropping like flies from this virus.. they arent...WAKE UP. My dad did social distance, he didn't go anywhere for a month. I didn't even see him... boom infected. Social distancing hasn't worked. If that isn't obvious by now you are living in a cocoon. Georgia isn't flaring up and they have been open almost a month... the virus has and is running its course.. my dad wasn't one of the lucky ones. He was part of the LARGE majority that caught this and did fine with it. Its not the flu, its worse, no doubt. But it is not black death. Media would have you think people are just dropping dead everywhere and they are not. That's the bottom line. If you are "at risk" take precautions, but by all means don't act like this is killing everyone, because it's not. "One of the lucky ones" gimme a break

  14. The shut downs were based on wildly inaccurate projections from so called "experts". I never supported any shutdown. The proper protocol is to quarantine the sick, isolate the vulnerable and let everyone else beat the virus with their immune system. It's pretty sad when a political party is so weak and their presidential candidate is so pathetic that the strategy of destroying the economy is considered by them as their best chance of winning an election.

Former Vice President Joe Biden. | Win McNamee/Getty Images By QUINT FORGEY 05/22/2020 08:39 AM EDT Former Vice President Joe Biden on Thursday emphatically defended his ties to the African-American community — telling a popular black radio personality that he “ain’t black” if he was still weighing whether to support Biden or President Donald Trump in November’s general election. The remarks from the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee came during an at-times contentious interview on “The Breakfast Club” that aired Friday morning, during which co-host Charlamagne tha God challenged Biden over his decades-long record on racial issues and current contemplation of a black, female running mate. “I’m not acknowledging anybody who is being considered, but I guarantee you: There are multiple black women being considered. Multiple,” Biden said of his search process for a vice presidential nominee. It was then that an aide to the Biden campaign could be heard interjecting into the conversation, attempting to cut short the interview. “Thank you so much. That’s really our time. I apologize,” the aide said. “You can't do that to black media!” Charlamagne retored. “I do that to white media and black media because my wife has to go on at 6 o’clock,” Biden shot back, apparently referring to a subsequent media appearance by Dr. Jill Biden, before adding: “Uh oh. I’m in trouble.” “Listen, you’ve got to come see us when you come to New York, VP Biden,” Charlamagne said. “It’s a long way until November. We've got more questions.” “You’ve got more questions?” Biden replied. “Well I tell you what, if you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.” During the Democratic presidential primary, “The Breakfast Club” developed into a popular pit stop for aspiring White House contenders, who sat for interviews on the New York-based nationally syndicated radio show and took candid questions on the state of the race and their agenda for African Americans. Like many other media outlets eschewed by the Biden campaign throughout the primary contest, the former vice president did not appear on the program until after vanquishing his rivals for the party’s nomination. So the new Democrat campaign slogan is now "If you ain't for Joe, you ain't black" is it? Yes - this really happened this morning. Do you honestly think the news will even hint at this? Probably more interested to see if the President has a mask on......

  19. Amy Klobuchar may be acceptable to the Democrats as long as she continues to mock President Trump for taking the same Hydroxychloroquine treatment her husband received for his coronavirus diagnosis. If Klobuchar ever says a positive word about Hydroxychloroquine or the President, she can expect the same treatment from the Democrat party as Michigan Representative Karen Whitsett received.

  21. “Doctors in Northern California say they have seen more deaths from suicide than they’ve seen from the coronavirus during the pandemic. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/california-doctors-say-theyve-seen-more-deaths-from-suicide-than-coronavirus-since-lockdowns “The numbers are unprecedented,” Dr. Michael deBoisblanc of John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, California, told ABC 7 News about the increase of deaths by suicide, adding that he’s seen a “year’s worth of suicides” in the last four weeks alone. DeBoisblanc said he believes it’s time for California officials to end the stay-at-home order and let people back out into their communities. "Personally, I think it's time," he said. "I think, originally, this was put in place to flatten the curve and to make sure hospitals have the resources to take care of COVID patients. We have the current resources to do that, and our other community health is suffering." Kacey Hansen, a trauma center nurse at John Muir Medical Center for more than 30 years, says she’s worried not only about the increased suicide attempts but also about the hospital’s ability to save as many patients as usual. "What I have seen recently, I have never seen before," Hansen said. "I have never seen so much intentional injury." Businesses across California have started defying stay-at-home orders imposed by Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom, and hundreds of protesters have hit the streets, making the argument that the orders were only meant to flatten the curve of the virus’s spread, which Newsom himself said was achieved in mid-April. Suicide has been an increasingly significant problem across the country as the coronavirus outbreak caused stay-at-home orders that led to unemployment and stress. By late March, more people had died in just one Tennessee county from suicide than had died in the entire state directly from the virus. A study published in early May suggested that the coronavirus could lead to at least 75,000 deaths directly brought on by anxiety from the virus, job losses, and addiction to alcohol and drugs. Another study conducted by Just Facts around the same time computed a broad array of scientific data showing that stress is one of the deadliest health hazards in the world and estimated that the coronavirus lockdowns will destroy 7 times as many years of human life than strict lockdowns can save. Earlier this week, more than 600 doctors signed their names on a letter to President Trump, referring to the continued lockdowns as a “mass casualty incident” and urging him to do what he can to ensure they come to an end.
