  1. I'm not a numbers wiz, just to put that out there, but I'm seeing all kinds of botched numbers everywhere... The thing that isn't often pointed out is that the flu deaths are counted in one count, but the illnesses/deaths don't all come from the same virus. So this COVID-19 (is is still one???) is blowing any one flu out of the water in its short existence.

  2. Rarely do those in the stands know much about what they are addressing. This instance is another such case.

  5. I feel like we all want a plan we can support and agree on. The only problem with that is, we all have different opinions on what is the right way to get back to a "new" normal. That is being an American, living in the United States, where it is our right to express our opinion and vote for people who think like we do. But this gets into politics and that not an appropriate topic here. I really want to see Football at all levels this fall. But as of today, it appears very difficult seeing that happen. But, if things continue on the current plan of the Governor, we could see all sports back in business by July or August. That is, if the State Education Director also follows the current plan of the Governor. Now, the details of how all this happens, those are to be determined. The situation we are living in today will be changed again tomorrow, or next week, or two weeks from now. New developments are happening each and every day and we are just reacting. I think what we all want is to know what is going to happen in the future, so we can plan for it. And I don't know anyone who can predict the future.

  6. My 2 cents.... 1) I’ve seen multiple kids the last few years receive invites (including my son) from our school and the area. It’s not that exclusive. 2) $3K to spend the week in Hawaii with 3 other players in a room and share a bed with limited exposure. *meals not included 3) $3K can get you to a lot of camps at schools with multiple college coaches attending. 4) if you’ve got the cash and want to go to Hawaii, what better way to do it than getting to play football. 😎 P.S. $3K for each person that wants to go along with the player.

  8. NY Times on Memorial Day Weekend: US Military celebrates white supremacism https://www.foxnews.com/media/ny-times-memorial-day-weekend-us-military-celebrates-white-supremacism This travesty is obviously Mr. Trump's fault. He should have ordered this bases renamed the day he first took office.

  10. Since you brought it up... can you imagine Eisenhower forbidding D-Day until there was a guarantee of 0 deaths? Now stepping back from the hyperbole, I agree there is not much of a plan. The biggest problem is that people can’t even agree what constitutes facts. We have 2-3 months domestically and 4-5 months worldwide of data, yet we will not form policy decisions based upon it. A 15-24 year old is more likely to die in a car crash, homicide, or from suicide than COVID-19. That is true based on statistical data. But post that and see how many angered responses you get, all using it to justify their opinion.

  11. Had fun watching some last night. A friend of mine on the Snider staff was giving the perspective from their side of it as well. Pretty cool to hear coaches on both sides giving their perspectives.

  13. Never said I didn't care about the fans, or that I think high school football is better without those pesky fans. Simply implying that fans talk a lot about a lot, and more often than not, they know very little about what they are talking about. Coaches don't listen to a word of wisdom that comes raining down on us from the stands. They are better coaches and officials than anyone down on the field. That's all. We are playing Male for, at minimum, the next few years unless something changes.
