  1. Hey Captain, it's not a list ranking the teams. This is merely listing their strength of schedule. Eastbrook may very well beat every team on the list, but their strength of schedule doesn't match up. No need to get your feelings hurt.

  3. Southern Indiana- Boonvilles Devin Mockobee. The Navy commit is putting together a Strong Season so far. 1219yds 19tds AVG 10ypc. He put on 15LBs over the off season and its showing. Hes probly the most under the radar recruit in the State. Hes 6'0 197Lb has a Verified 122" broadjump, 34"vertical, 6.98 3 cone and a 4.0 shuttle.

  7. You can bet Cathedral and Center Grove will be playing all our studs in Week 9 if we can both stay healthy. And, I think the fans might want a full power slobber knocker more than even the players. But, Cathedral has two more nasty Cincy GCL foes the next two weeks (La Salle, Elder) and a let-down game with Brebeuf before we even think about Center Grove. If either Cathedral or Center Grove lose before Week 9, it could diminish that game. It was personally circled before the season even started for most Cathedral and CG faithful. We have many more weeks to discuss the possibilities of that game. Until then, stay healthy Irish and Trojans! And Go Irish tonight! Beat the Lancers!

  8. Agree. Once we're within 2 weeks of sectional I really think coaches need to start taking a hard look at who they REALLY need out there. Put your 3 deep chart together and ride with those players. The bigger your team, the more likely COVID will take you out instead of an opponent. Would be horrible for seniors to have to forfeit due to the 3rd string punter testing positive.

  9. Maybe the offensive line is experienced. Maybe they do a lot of pulling. Maybe he has some things to work on. Maybe he will be real good. It is very possible that he doesn't start.

  13. I agree, Eastbrook needs to run more screens and get into some empty sets...I've been saying it for years. It's why they only have red rings

  15. Now a final. In another Region game, the Chesterton-Portage contest was postponed, due to the fact that a car hit a pole near CHS which resulted in a power outage. How 2020 is that?

  28. I would say that’s only because they know they are in for a dog fight, Gaddis also probably asked them “do you want to be known as the team that lost the streak?” Floyd will be fine, they are a good team and will be ready for this game.

  30. Doesn't matter what I think. Bottom line is: 8 HNAC games are not going to be played. Let's ask this from another angle. If baseball season is not played due to COVID, is there a Mr. Baseball? Can you pick an all-state baseball team with no games played? C'mon man. as always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007

  32. Mockobee will likely lead the state in rushing and all-purpose yards, but for the reasons mentioned already and Boonville unlikely to advance past the sectional, he'll not get it, as has been the case for many talented skill players outside of the IndyStar radar.

  33. I saw that the Reitz freshmen beat Castle last night 38-16 to remain undefeated. Talented group. I was told they will have a week off before they will play GS freshmen, which will be another good matchup.

  34. Oh I had in my head he was a junior last year, maybe because he didn't get to play b his final baseball season. It is great that Simon and Crews will get to play baseball together at UE. Crews played summer ball and the hamstring seems to be close to healthy. He's seemingly been in college for six years, but made the most of it and is on track to get his masters, according to Mike.

  35. Bigger isn't always better on an OL or DL. I don't want an OT who can't get to the linebacker level by the time a RB hits a hole. Just as I don't care how big a NG is if he can't draw a double team.

  36. Indeed. I don't think any of us thought we would be here in the season or even be in school. It is great.

  37. That's a shame. I'll still take what we are getting this year over no football at all. I agree with your last take. IMO, Covid is the biggest threat facing all State Title contenders. I'm expecting at least One legimate contender across the 6 classes to forfeit a playoff game.

  39. Stinky, Stink, Stink 1.2.3. It's hard to bet against EC But you all know if you want truth Come get your advice from STC! BiG ReD & BlAcK has a stout defense that will keep them in most games in the tournament. They have some backers that are the best in the state. The defense will not be the issue. The deal is this, they do not have the offensive firepower that is going to line up in a 4A tournament and get it done. Offensive line is solid, running back, they lost their best RB (ACL), but STC will say this....they have a 9th grader that is going to be good! Stink thinks they have some WR's but the passing game seems to be on the back burner at this time. QB is very average, but does what all EC's QB's are taught to do. Handoff the ball! If the passing game can develop, then maybe....... Stinks Overall Prediction - Unless the offense comes together, the Trojans may have a hard time keeping up with some of the teams that can put up points. Stink is not saying the Trojan D will give up too many points. Reminder Mooresville took the Trojans down last year 17-14. Stink will not rule out the BiG ReD & BlAcK, but a trip to the Oil Can may be a BIG stretch!

  40. agreed. The 2013 GS team rolled out a bunch of sophomores as starters (granted they were really good) and that 2015 team was something super special...look at Tell City now too. Shoot I think some of those guys have been starting for 4 years. Obviously it’s not ideal but I think good team with tradition can handle it. This is also why practice is so important. Those underclassmen practice against the seniors every day. Gotta make the most of those reps just in case your number is called on.

  41. I'm sure you all have been anxiously waiting for Slick John's return with a similar anticipation of a COVID vaccine being developed....well...the good news is, Slick John seems to be more reliable than our government and I'm also going to give you a much more honest opinion about things than any of them will. So let's rip these mid-season evaluations like Ric Fliar ripping some of the Devil's Dandruff off the back-side of a Charlotte stripper back the the late 80's!!! 1. Warsaw- 3-0: Their wins over Mishawaka and Northridge are debatably the best pair of wins of the season so far in the NLC. A couple easy tune-ups to get ready for the last two weeks vs. NorthWood and Concord that will play a major role in this year's champion. Slick John believes that the difference in the season will be if/when Warsaw's offense has an off night, will their defense be able to stop anybody? 2. NorthWood- 2-0: A missed game against Goshen keeps them from a 3-0 record. They survived Concord without their QB which could be a very underrated victory come the end of the season. So far, NorthWood's defense has been the class of the conference. It will be interesting to see their performances vs. Mishawaka and Warsaw. 3. Concord- 2-1: One tough loss and two easy wins for the Minutemen. The Mishawaka game is going to be a telling result. Their defense so far has shut out a poor Goshen team, gave up 7 to Wawasee and another 14 to NorthWood's backup QB. Their defensive point total could be the most overrated statistic in the conference up to this point. We will find out tomorrow. 4. Northridge- 2-1: Just like I stated above about Concord, Northridge's defense showed some vulerability against Warsaw after easily handling Wawasee and Plymouth. Still so much to find out about the Raiders 5. Mishawaka- 1-1: After a 1-3 overall start, Mishawaka, all of a sudden has an opportunity to get themselves back in the NLC title chase with a win over Concord Friday. Their offense has been beyond impressive point scoring wise, but their defense leaves quite a lot to be desired. Should be fun Friday vs. Concord. 6. Goshen- 0-1: Goshen has beaten Clay and lost to Concord in a season as plagued by COVID as it has been by poor football. I can't imagine a trip down SR 15 is going to be kind to the boys from Goshen. I've heard Rick Mirer owns a vineyard. Does he give Goshen patrons discounts on his wine? They may need it. 7. Wawasee- 0-3: It can be argued that Wawasee has had the toughest conference schedule so far. Which also can't be too comforting with Warsaw and Mishawaka still left. There is a chance for two wins out of the last four, though. This week brings us to the pillow fight of the week at (gasp!) Plymouth! I have to be honest- I don't know the route from Wawasee to Plymouth, nor do I care to. I would suggest anybody from Wawasee not look it up, either and head to the closest liquor license carrying establishment to Syracuse. 8. Plymouth- 0-3: Just like I'm still trying to figure out why Plymouth didn't set their scoreboard cocked to the endline in their renovated stadium (see for yourself), John Barron is trying to figure out just what in the world is occurring in Rockie Land. They showed some late life against Mishawaka last week--could that be the momentum it takes to take down a typical Wawasee team?
