Boonville has won 2 sectionals in 1984 and 2004. They also won the regional in 1984. The fact that they play in the 4A sectional with Jasper and the Evansville schools has a lot to do with the lack of sectional championships. Linton has had trouble winning against Southridge. Linton finally won this year to improve their record vs. Southridge to 1-7. That is about the same percentage wise as Southridge's record of 8-40 against Jasper. So does Boonville really look that bad compared to Linton? Who you play in your sectional matters.3 points

I'm in-state, but away from football. At senior night for my daughter's volleyball team. I'll be at Harrison tomorrow though when Harrison's JV takes on Chatard.2 points

It should be a penalty if you punt inside your opponents 40 yards line. I see it happen every Sunday.2 points

Yes. Game scheduled for Arlington. Center Grove is starting to sound like the new Carmel. Pampered. We'll still serve you caviar, but wear your flak jacket.2 points

Just be glad Roncalli has ducked Cathedral for the last decade and get over it. The playing surface at Arlington is fine. It is a smaller venue but what other choice does Cathedral have? It's where they play their home games.2 points

Regardless of the sport I think coaches should be respectful of the season. I've seen basketball coaches that have morning workouts during football season. What if a two-sport player sprains an ankle?2 points

Our Eastbrook kicker made a 50 yard field goal tonight. I know it’s probably not a state record but might definitely be a school record. Does anyone know the state record for longest field goal?1 point

This could be an interesting game with the injuries SA has. Will the Starfires be looking ahead to the next week vs AC? MC played them pretty tough in the regular season last year.1 point

I failed to mention that the Columbus North Bull Dog band put on a very impressive halftime performance. I wish the band and the football team the best the rest of the season. A lot of grit on the blue side tonight.1 point

I was at a very dark Cathedral at Columbus North game. At least Arlington has decent lighting.😊1 point

Well….it’s time for my favorite regular season matchup….good ole HH vs GS this week HH is on a hot streak. Should be a DANDY of a week on here lol1 point

First of all this was the darkest playing field I've seen in my 66 years of watching Cathedral football. It had to be tough to see on the field. It was good to see the Irish running game get in gear. The Irish ran for more than 250 yards, and Seth Mencer must've had 150 of those yards. Also sophomore Hosia Smith gave the Irish a late boost running the ball and scoring his first varsity TD. Hats off to the OL for opening those holes.1 point

But I read on this thread that Floyd was not a god team this year. I don’t know what to believe.1 point

Being a state line guy, I'll take Indiana's all in over Ohio's system every day. There are bottom feeders in the MAC that never make the playoffs that are better than teams that advance deep in the tournament. Last year Parkway won a playoff game with the all in format They were really bad, but better than one opponent. Ohio gets it right by seeding it. Heck Ohio is getting closer to an all in with 16 teams making it in all regions. At this point just create an 8th division and go all in.1 point

Floyd Central 20 Jeffersonville 13 Floyd Central finally gets off the mat. Great win over a rival. I’ve handed out plenty of criticism so I’ll hand out the praise. Feel good win for the players and the coaching staff. I’m happy for all of them including Coach Bragg who made a couple terrific calls in the 2nd half after a sloppy defensive slugfest. Floyds defense only gave up 7 pts. They were in the backfield the entire game. And they’ve been solid all season. But the Star of the game was Tristan Robertson. 3 TD passes and 2 of them were absolutely beautifully thrown balls. The kid is immensely talented. I’m just so happy for those kids. I really am. Tough trip up to East next week, I hope it’s another good game.1 point

Watched the end of the game, so I can't verify much other than the odd replay the down. However any time I've watched the Jets play anywhere near Muncie or Anderson areas, I've never been to impressed with the crews. With low officiating numbers you just have to live with it when you play in basketball country.1 point

37-13 final. Bulldogs made it interesting there for a minute. Irish we’re up 17-0 early in the 2nd with blowout written all over it before CN recorded their first 1st down which also resulted in a TD on a 4th and long pass. From there, and stop me if you’ve heard this before, Cathedral sputtered multiple redzone opportunities due to lack of execution and penalties. Need to credit CN for hanging tough and making it a 4 quarter game. Most people, including myself, believed this would be a walkover and it certainly wasn’t after it appeared that way through the 1st quarter.1 point

This is some pitiful football. It actually helps that both defenses are bad, and it makes it look somewhat entertaining lol1 point

Yeah, few things are as cool as vandalizing a public restroom. Who cares about TDs, tackles, or winning a football game when you can steal a fire extinguisher or destroy a soap dispenser or TP holder. Now THAT is cool! SMH Let's hope they learn a valuable lesson and that it doesn't cost them much more than a few meaningless "Likes", "Thumbs Up", or whatever the heck kids give them on Tik Tok... (dumb as a rock?)1 point

His comment of crappy grass field is the laughable thing. Not every team is capable of affording and playing on the luxurious turf fields of today. Not every grass field is crappy either. As far as a game of this magnitude, whats to say either team has anyone important even playing in this game. Bragging rights? I dont think CG even cares. If all play, this will be the closest game they will have played, but with the grind that CG will have gone through, they might just sit players to have 2 weeks of rest before the season that actually counts in Indiana starts. Cathedral might do the same with sitting players. Who knows. But to complain about ACTUALLY having to play on a Grass field. Get over yourself.1 point

Tech is at Kokomo that week. Played there plenty of times in the past , I have 0 dog in this fight just saying I think a game of that magnitude deserves a little bit better and more accommodating stage to all involved.1 point

What is the cost? Not sure if I'm interested in paying just to post reactions, but as much as I come here to read a small amount might be doable.1 point
