Mainly two parents who weren't happy with junior's playing time. The overwhelming majority of CG folks rallied around him in a big way. And believe it or not that was 5 years ago.

CG's 1-tech is Nate Johnson. His long blonde flow is a tribute to his mother who passed away a couple years ago. Nate is also an exceptional wrestler.

No surprise here.. EC could have picked the score. Was by far the most physical team in 4A, and I’d venture to go out in a limb (not really a huge surprise) but I think EC would win 5A as well. Congrats to the Trojans on a great year and a well deserved title to a great program.

I only had time to watc the 1st half. I’m assuming the 2nd half was about the same. I think the elder Statesmen coaching MD schooled the young Andrean HC. Andrean didn’t look prepared and MD looked prepared for anything Andrean tried doing offensively.

This crew has 4 officials who have worked state finals before, including the Referee. They are from Central Indiana. I thought they got all the big calls right. They picked up (disregarded) two flags, both as a result of excellent crew communication and teamwork, a real sign of a good crew. They had some really excellent calls and no-calls. There were a few minor things that could be tweaked, but this was clearly a state finals worthy crew, who had a fine game. After I met with the crew following the game, Asst. commissioner Faulkens asked me “How did they do?” My response was “Officiating had zero impact on the game.” He said, “that’s what we like.”

Not going to lie, I was at EC last year for Youth Football Night, they begin their mullet grooming very young in St Leon, it was truly impressive to watch the flowing locks of those young men as they ran across the field when their names were read.
