Perhaps you are unaware that it is a breach of GID protocol to publicize private messages without the sender’s permission.

    Was unaware.

But you're questioning my integrity when you yourself are completely biased in the situation, which is frankly wildly hypocritical, and that hypocrisy should be exposed.

If you had any integrity you would've stated this 'full disclosure' for all to see, instead of trying to act like what I'm saying isn't 100% true.

This class being QB heavy in the Top 5 worked out well for the Bears. I would hope they take Ault if he's still there at 9, but that's highly unlikely. Still, could be left choosing between Odunze or Verse.

Alt is probably gone by 9 but would be nice, even if Jones and Wright are solid. I think Odunze would be great as imo he would fit nicely with their current group of receivers as a big-bodied possession type. I also still think DE should be on the table as they need someone to pair with Sweat. Trading down shouldn't be out of the question either if their top guys are already off the board, pairing Bowers with Kmet in that scenario would be interesting. The good thing is they've got many different options and routes to go with that pick.

Who knows as one angy Chicago radio caller just said, Caleb could be the Black Baker Mayfield. My fear on this miss doesn't come from Daniels or Maye. Between those 2, I would take Maye. Here's me being picky: I don't like how smiley Daniel's is when losing. And I think he's benefitted greatly from Brian Kelley's offense and the WR's he has. Maybe I'm wrong and he's like Burrow was and is playing at an NFL level himself with NFL WR's.

My fear is McCarthy becomes the best QB in this draft. He just strikes me as a Tom Brady guy that can lead a team of men, get excellence from his teammates and never be afraid of a challenge. I rewatched that Rose Bowl game during some down time over the weekend. That kid is loved by his teammates.

McCarthy strikes me more like the guy a GM drafts and gets fired over a couple years later. Maybe I'm wrong, but I just don't see it. Game manager at best imo, and there's nothing wrong with that, but Cam Newton was right when he said teams are looking to draft the next Lamar, Allen or Mahomes, not the next Tua, Dak, or Goff.

    That, also, is totally inaccurate.

That's rich. "The things you have directly been told by coaches on multiple different coaching staffs didn't happen".

It's ok Bob, I know it's very difficult for you to accept, but you're not always right about things.

Lowell vs. West Lafayette is Week 3 per Harrell. Am I sensing some South Lake County anamosity towards the upstart Hanover Central?

If you saw the behavior of their fans and their coaches you’d understand why. This goes back to their time in the GSSC.

And the Radiers seem to have a legit HC now in Pierce. I too was pleased to see Getsy go. Though the turnaround in which he landed another NFL OC position has me doubting what I thought of him.

I wasn’t impressed with Getsy myself, but the question that needs to be raised is how much he was handicapped in his play calling by Fields’ shortcomings as a passer.

I don't understand how Fields has turned into a martyr. 3 years of film exists. And for 3 years experts who view the all 22 will tell you he can't see open WR's, holds the ball too long and is incapable of throwing WR's open. Seems like all of this is swept under the rug because it's the Bears and they're an easy punching bag. Yes, he dealt with injuries in the OL that created inconsistency and he dealt with rotating coaches. You can't give him a free pass on skills you need from your QB just because the infrastructure surrounding the QB is going to get better. Especially when you have a solid QB class in front of you and a chance to restart the clock on the QB payscale.

The whole Fields discourse has really brought out the fact that most people watching do not actually know anything about football.

He ran the same offense for two years in a row and did not improve even slightly (in the QB-friendly Shanahan system, I might add). The OL discourse is mute because sacks are mostly a QB stat (something most people just can’t seem to wrap their head around), driven home even more so by the fact that Bagent had about half the sack rate in 5 games playing behind the exact same OL. Pretty telling that Nagy and Getsy also both got jobs immediately after they left. All advanced passing stats say that he was a bottom 5 QB in the NFL this year.

I really believe that JF will be a top 10 QB in the NFL someday. I wouldn’t have said that even 2 years ago that a QB with that skill set could be a winner in the League. But Lamar Jackson has made a believer out of me. Fields can be a bigger, faster version of Lamar if he gets some coaching.

I wish the kid the best, but don’t hold your breath on this…

  9. I obviously have no inside info but I'd think that there's gotta be young coaches lining up out the door to take their crack at getting this job. Openings at legitimate blue bloods don't come along every day. I think if Penn takes their time and does their homework, they should be able to land a great coach who can bring them back to the standards they expect.

I agree with yout. And I'm floored when I hear some analysts say Fields could get a 1st rounder in return. What!?!? Prepare yourself his apologists that will bring up the multiple OC's he's had.

I wanted just as much as anyone else for the kid to be good. But after a couple seasons, it’s obvious he’s not the answer. He doesn’t have the mental map a legit NFL QB needs. He needs to see guys wide open, and can’t actually throw them open. He could get away with that in college throwing to a bunch of 5 stars who were running routes against overmatched DBs. In the NFL, not so much. Most of his big runs are because he held the ball way too long in the first place. He’s a good kid and he’s obviously highly respected by his teammates, but those intangibles don’t win football games.

  11. Fields is awful. Just because he bails out his terrible reads and complete lack of anticipation with this athleticism doesn’t make him good. They’re taking Williams and if any team really wants to give them a 2nd rounder for Fields you jump on that before they can even hang up the phone.

Why yes, somebody who calls themselves "Connors Crusty Socks" is a defacto expert on respect.    Actually it is probably one of your sockpuppets.

  13. 6A seems pretty straightforward, assuming the IHSAA sticks with their usual method of slotting new teams into where old teams were:

1: Crown Point, Lake Central, Portage, Harrison (slots in for Jeff)

2: Penn, Elkhart, Carroll, Snider (slots in for Warsaw)

    3: Northrop, Homestead, Fishers, HSE

    4: Carmel, Westfield, Zionsville, Noblesville

    5: BD, Brownsburg, Pike, Avon

6: Cathedral, Lawrence North, Lawrence Central, North Central

7: Warren, Perry Meridian, Southport, Tech

8: CG, Columbus North, Jeffersonville, Franklin Central

My best guess at 5A Sectional assignments. A lot of them are pretty easy, but a few outliers are going to make things interesting.

    OBVIOUS
Sectional 9: Hammond Central, Hammond Morton, Merrillville, Munster
Sectional 10: Chesterton, LaPorte, Michigan City, Valparaiso
Sectional 11: Concord, Goshen, SB Adams, Warsaw

    MAYBE?
Sectional 12: FW North, Kokomo, Lafayette Jefferson, McCutcheon

Down in 5A South is where things get a little weird. there are a lot of obvious 2-team groupings, but then what other 2-teams do they pair up with? My best guess will be:

    MAYBE?
Sectional 13: Anderson, East Central, Franklin, Whiteland
Sectional 14: Decatur Central, Plainfield, Terre Haute North, Terre Haute South

OBVIOUS (Only because they are the same as the last cylce)
Sectional 15: Bloomington North, Bloomington South, Columbus East, Seymour
Sectional 16: Castle, Evansville North, Floyd Central, New Albany

This looks like the easiest way to do the North. Throw FW North in with the NCC teams just to keep it clean. Things would get weird if they didn't go with something like this.

Down South could go any number of ways but I think what you have here is probably the best way to do it.
