  1. Overall, just not a very strong conference, but Oak Hill appears to have the real deal at the Varsity level this season.

Eastbrook is obviously down after losing to Alex and narrowly beating Frankton.  They'll finish up either 6-3 or 5-4.

Alex had a great win vs Eastbrook, but got a decent beatdown by a 3-3 Eastern Hancock team in week 1.  Blanked by Mississinewa...Likely to lose to Oak Hill, but I think they get past Frankton...toss-up in week 9 vs Madison-Grant.

Frankton is improved, but isn't scoring points save for Elwood.  Take out that game, they're only scoring 10 per game, which is drastically different than their 40 per game with Elwood included.  Need more offense to have a chance these next few weeks...anywhere between 3-6 and 5-4 depends entirely on their Offense based on scores.  They'll beat Blackford in week 9...need more offense vs Madison Grant and Alex in weeks 7 & 8.

Mississinewa played Norwell close in week 1, by far Norwell's closest game and they're the top ranked team in 3A.  They should win out...even beating Eastbrook in week 9!!

Madison-Grant finishes up with Frankton, Eastbrook, and Alex...should be a solid defensive battle vs Frankton and Eastbrook...teams able to pass the ball better win those weeks.

2A South Needs to be redone! It has been stated on the GID in a previous topic that 2A south should be a done deal. That post did not take into account how bad the IHSAA is at Geography.

As it currently sits, Scecina may play a sectional game in Louisville

  3. Here's my stab at 2A...Updated post based off most recent information - haha

33 - Whiting, Bishop Noll, Lake Station Edison, River Forest, Andrean, Wheeler, Laville, Bremen

34 - Delphi, Pioneer, Winamac, Rochester, Cass, Wabash, Manchester, Whitko

35 - Prairie Heights, Eastside, Churubusco, Central Noble, Luers, Bluffton, Eastbrook

36 - Eastern (Greentown), Tipton, Elwood, Frankton, Alexandria, Lapel, Winchester, Blackford

37 - Northeastern, Shenandoah, Heritage Christian, Park Tudor, Scecina, Ritter, Triton-Central, Union County

38 - Benton Central, LCC, Seeger, South Vermillion, Greencastle, Cascade, North Putnam, Southmont

39 - Sullivan, Linton-Stockton, North Knox, North Posey, Mater Dei, Tell City, Perry Central, Forest Park

40 - Crawford County, Paoli, Mitchell, Brown County, Brownstown Central, Eastern Pekin, Clarksville, Switzerland County

In my opinion, 39 and 40 are pretty much set it in stone.  In 38, I pulled two "North" schools down to the south because I think driving down south for them w/ access to 65 might make easier trips than driving across the state.

  5. I don't think I have seen any type of press release officially saying reclassification will take place.  However, based on the most recent minutes from the executive meeting I do think they are going to reclassify.

    https://www.ihsaa.org/Portals/0/ihsaa/documents/about ihsaa/minutes/2021-22/011322.pdf

    23) FOR THE GOOD OF THE ORDER  A detailed report for IHSAAtv.org will be presented at the February Executive Committee meeting.  The IHSAA Executive Committee summer retreat is scheduled for June 21-23 at a location to be determined.  The IHSAA is still awaiting final enrollment numbers from the Indiana Department of Education for purposes of reclassification and realignment.  Regrettably, Rae Ferriell-Woolpy of Richmond High School has resigned her position on the IHSAA Board of Directors for personal reasons. The IHSAA thanks her for her nine years of service and wishes her all the best.

BUSH LEAGUE! Your hear say needs to stay off GID! These rules were set last week by Irishuncle411 This is irrelevant to schedule, scheme and whatever else he/she determines are appropriate.

Not an administrator on here, so any suggestions from me on appropriate topics can be easily ignored...speculate away...I'll add enrollment factors to appropriate topics along with schedule and scheme and will be sure I do not call any of that out in the future.

More or less, I just simply don't like posts that suggest a current administration has a head coach in waiting to replace a first year coach at a school.  Nor do I like posts that suggest an already established head coach might be in the corporation and is simply biding his time for the job to open up (you used the phrase taking over soon).  Not fair to either party....

Thanks for the shout out...Have a good rest of your week and hope you get to enjoy the games Saturday.

ANYONE know of a rumor that Marty Wells is helping Frankton. I heard he is teaching at frankton now and that they might be looking to him either helping or taking over soon. Just somthing I have heard.

It's the italics I think is bush league.  Alluding to Frankton administration having a first year head coach and another person to take control soon, or that a former head coach in the area is possibly expecting to "take over soon" is not needed on the GID.  Whatever gossip is going on in Frankton should stay in Frankton.  Your original post would have been fine without those three words.

That being said, if either of the two scenarios I painted have even a hint of truth, then this job should be appealing to no potential candidate.

Talk strength of schedule, scheme, literally anything else...but no need for middle school gossip on here.

Brings back fond memories of CJB. Would love to his thoughts on possible cures for Covid....

I had hoped my mention of lunch ladies might inspire him to offer some thoughts on the state of the Eastbrook/Tipton game...or perspective on about anything.  The GID and world at large needs some more CJB to bring some smiles and laughs.  Or at least get a pot stirrer back on here that simply doesn't make everyone angry!!

  10. Jimmies and Joe's or Run/Pass Game don't matter.  Whichever schools lunch ladies prepare the better midday meal will determine this games winner.

I checked Tipton's website...no listing of lunch menus in the month of October, but they have November all planned out and for the community to see.  Makes me feel they will have a good Friday plan to get the boys ready to go.

I checked Eastbrooks website...uh-oh, they're on Fall Break.  Hope they make the sacrifice to still come in and make a solid post walk-through snack.  Or maybe they and the boys peaked last Friday with Pizza Rippers and a Spicy Chicken Filet?

  11. Looking up some things for this weeks matchups, but no Greentown Stats on MaxPreps?  I know the RB is good...Downing kid I think is his name.  But who are their go to guys?  I know Eastbrook appears to throw it around more and QB must be good.  They always have good RB numbers because of their scheume.  Dollar kid from Lapel is only a sophomore and appears to be the real deal.  Anyone to throw to on the Bulldogs? Tipton appears to be balanced as always.  1200 in the air...800 yard rusher...couple of 400 yard receivers...

    As far as predictions go

I think Greentown/Lapel is a toss up.  Latter has played better competition, but EG has record/rankings to say it doesn't matter.  I'll go Lapel by one score late.

Eastbrook/Tipton will be a good one.  I think quality of regular season opponents is the difference maker.  It'll be a tight one, but Eastbrook will have one or two things they haven't shown yet that Tipton won't be prepped for. CIC might work to their advantage as it doesn't matter what they run after week 2!!

  12. Marion at Mississinewa - Indians will battle, but playing a weak 5A/4A schedule has the Giants better prepared than a weak 1A/2A schedule.  Giants 35-Indians 21

Oak Hill at Bellmont - Eagles are good this year.  Possible for one last hardware run in next few years for Ozmun?  He'd be content with a sectional  trophy and hope they get one if they drop back down and he stays longer.

Alex at Eastern - Tigers will play hard early and keep it close.  Greentown plays a weak schedule.  I think it'll be close for a half, but Comets pull ahead after the break.

Lapel at Frankton - Think the Bulldogs win this one big.  Might be close for a quarter, but that is it.

Tipton at Elwood - Tipton by 50.  Elwood has no chance.

Blackford at Eastbrook - Eastbrook by 50.  Blackford has no chance.

  13. What is most competitive first round game?  I think it is between Lapel/Frankton and Blackford/Eastbrook...Bulldogs seem to beat who they should, but no one better.  Other game I mentioned is purely on Elwood/Alex being so bad.  Think you could make argument Alex/Greentown, but Tigers based on sectional Round 2 last year (Greentown 20-7)...but Alex appears to be worse this year.

Who wins between Alex/Frankton in week 9 this year?

  14. Box score from last week shows that Lapel vs Heritage Christian was a 1 score game going into the 4th quarter, but bottom must have fallen out for the Bulldogs in the 4th as they lost 41-19.  I think they're just under the top tier in sectional 36.  I'd say it's Eastbrook as the favorite and Tipton is barely a step behind them. Lapel/Greentown need some good bounces versus either of them to have a shot.  Here's to a good draw for all of them!! Rest of the sectional is onto basketball season...hoping we get one.
