  1. Expanded Indiana Crossroads will be the final spot for TW.  10 team league split into big/small school. Danville and Lebanon will double the size of TW in the next 10 years.  Danville will eventually end up in the Mid-State.  Lebanon, who knows.

ICC Big School- Tri-West, Beech Grove, Monrovia, Speedway, Indian Creek

ICC Small School-  Triton Central, Lutheran, Scecina, Ritter, Covenant Christian

  2. It didn’t happen but would have been cool, in 1988 & 1989 Tri-West and Western Boone almost met in State Finals.  The school districts border each other and many friends & family would have been divided on that day.  It didn’t happen TW lost to South Spencer in the ultimate mud bowl in 1988.  Webo lost to FW Luers in 1989.  What could have been didn’t happen.

  3. Probably my most hated press box in all of my years of coaching.  The PA speaker was located right next to the visitors coaches box.  And it blared in your ear time entire game.  The windows were always dirty.  Sad I’ll never see the new one.  RIP crappy Frankfort press box.  However, I will miss the Frankfort announcer who I believe is retiring after this year.  Not hearing his voice at Case Arena will be different.  You got his name Muda?

  4. This is a good move for all involved.  I think Cascade and Greencastle will bring solid teams to the football side of conference.  North Putnam has a history of good teams.  Frankfort will probably not be in this long.  I see them moving north or dropping football.  Either way this is a good 2A rural conference.  TW is looking forward to playing some new teams and developing some new rivalries.

Wonder if it'd be something like Harrison and McCutcheon joining up with THN/THS and perhaps toss in a couple of others like West Lafayette and Lebanon.  Harrison had THS on the schedule for a couple of years along with Westfield before trading for West Lafayette and Plainfield.

Wouldn't be ideal for the bigger schools, but it's not like the NCC was doing all that much for Harrison anyway ... outside of Jeff.  Could probably still schedule Jeff as an out-of-conference team.  Maybe look at playing one or more of the Catholic schools too as out-of-conference.  Chatard has played Harrison on its undercards for a few years.  They could replace Tech on their schedule with Harrison.  Maybe add in Brebeuf who could replace Tri-West or Marian with Harrison.  Brebeuf already plays THN and THS and has also played Harrison on undercards.  Of course, you'd have to convince WL to bolt the HC, but stranger things have happened ... and West Lafayette already plays McCutcheon and Harrison on their out-of-conference schedule.

Again, not a great solution for Harrison/McCutcheon, but right now they are without a conference and if THN/THS are also out looking, the Island of Misfit Toys might end up being better than possibly getting split or staying independent for several years.

Harrison and McCutcheon will most likely be added to Sagamore with TW, Danville, and Lebanon.  Also, hearing other possibilities are West Lafayette, Greenwood, and Southport.  Not a big fan of Greenwood and/or Southport, but both school are a bad fit for current conferences.

Webo didn’t start the dominos.  The Montgomery County schools did and Webo had to choose.  Webo’s decisions were based on where things will be in 10 years.  Lebanon and Danville enrollments are about to swell.  TW will keep rising too.  Disappointed for my friends at Webo that wanted to come along.  Time will tell if decisions were correct.

    SuperJay,
While the record is still dismal. TW has not beaten Montgomery County schools in 44 straight games. Its only 36. They have beaten South and NM 11 straight times and CHS 14. South and NM both beat TW in 2011 and CHS last beat them in 2008.

You are correct.  That 44 in a row also includes Frankfort.  I left that out.  But it appears a lot is going on to break up the Sagamore.

  8. It’s trending in that direction.  TW, Danville, and Lebanon are growing.  The rest of the conference is stagnant.  The gap is only getting bigger in enrollment.  TW has won 44 straight against the Montgomery county schools.
Lafayette Jeff might not be interested.  I understand that, but the alternative is wasting your time driving to places like Anderson and Richmond that are only competitive in basketball.
Even add West Lafayette and Western to make an 8 school conference.  WeBo and Frankfort can replace them in the Hoosier.

I'll put it out there: Lafayette Jeff, Harrison, and McCutcheon.  It makes as much sense or more than the Hautians.  Less travel than in the NCC as the Star City is much closed to our state capitol than Muncie and Richmond.

The Sagamore doesn’t want Tri-West, Danville, and Lebanon anymore.  There would be a large gap in enrollment but all three are growing.  TW, Leb, Jeff, McCutcheon, Harrison, Danville.  Thoughts?
