  1. I post this a few backs the dates are from thenso I apologize since they do not add up to last year but I think most of you can get the giff of it.

the more class you add the more water down everything becomes

First change i would make is  to the last week of July.  I would make this  camp week where schools could have a mini camp.  They could hold it during  4 of the 5 days of the week.  I  Would make Saturday and no contact day so the kids and families  could have the last weekend before the season starts to do family stuff.  During your camp you can have  up to  3 full pads pracites  during the 4 days  the rest  would be pro pads.  It would be like the old 2adays we had  back in the day. The first Monday in Aug.  would be the  start of normal football operations    The reason for this is to make more fair across the board some since not all schools start at the same time.

2nd change would be to move the start of the games up a week. For example  this year Aug 7 would be the scrimmage and Aug 13 would week one.  By doing this you would be doing two things one is give 5A and 6A  the same amount of games played  as the rest of the class, the second thing it would do is give the lower class a bye week.  There is a lot ways to this but i think the easiest way is to make the  bye  week 10 right  before the playoffs start.

Could we find more HCC teams than MIC teams on the regular season schedule for CG in a few years?

With their only being only 6 teams in the MIC, their are more open dates for them to schedule CG then the HHC with 8 teams.  In truth I was a little shocked to see Westfield, I believe they are one of the schools that voted no to let CG in the HHC.

Ever since they went to 32 teams I have felt they should do away with sectionals and just do regionals. One let’s face it ishaa is not going away from blind draw like it  or not I do not see them changing. So this would be a way to help at least in my mind.  Like BD and brownburg this year u have a 1 in 3 chance they would play first game. If you go to 8 team regionals, that goes to 1 in 7.  Not saying it would not happen but the odds are better.  Two they do not have to reinvent the wheel they regionals are already set so no more work for them. Three it would safe the ishaa money 8 less trophies they would have to buy.  Like said my opinion and we all how opinion’s on here go. Lol

How about 6A shift to having four different sectionals made of 8 teams and jump straight to semi state?

Its still the same games.....unless the point is to just not give out a trophy week 2 of tournament?

Apologies if I'm reading that different than you intended.

I post something along those ideas a while back

  4. I was watch the cg vs greenwood basketball game and they mentioned that was like the  192 meeting between the the two schools.  I know that is basketball and it is have played a lot longer, but it got to wondering what is some of the longest rivalries still playing today in football.  I know BD and WC have going on for a long time, just not sure how long

Throw the topic at hand out the window. The IHSAA will never abolish the sectional trophy, and I don't blame them. It was a good thought though.

I agree with you they will not but, in my opinion and for what that is worth sectional champs does not mean as much as did once.  With only 4 teams it is water down and most years you know who is going to win.  I am not sure about the north but I can tell you who with 100% faith I am right who is going to win 3pm the  4 in the south.  The one in question I still would have got right. Not by much mind you but still right.

So, how would you determine the teams that get in?

All 32 teams in each class still get in. There are four regionals from eight sectionals. The suggestion is to conduct the blind draw within each of the four regions. Pretty good suggestion, and I don't think I've seen anyone propose this before.

Yes nothing would change as far as everyone is still in

You’re certainly entitled to voice your opinion on whether the call was correct or not. But when you insinuate bias in the officiating, that’s a completely different thing … and you need to be “called out” for it.

That is a fair not bias just bad officiating,

@Grover Do you know what the JV score was tonight? Can’t imagine it was pretty. I saw your freshmen won 44-0.

    JV didn’t play JC.

It was JC jv team vs CG freshman. It was 44 to 0 at half CG played the 2nd and 3rd string players in the 2nd half

  10. My 5 things I would like see to change

    1 no dress limit

2 move the regular season to the left by a week, in doing this week 10 is now a bye for classes 1-4 and  5 and 6 gets theirs the following week like it is now.

3 the last 2 weeks of July before school start teams can have up to 10 practice. Now they can do one a day for that time or have old school camp and with 2 a days

4 seed the playoffs as much as like the idea of the blind draw, I do like what what was proposed on here, my only thing would have a north east bracket and north west.and same in the south to help out with travel as much as possibly

5 do away with the idea of neutral site.  Let the home team do all the fantastic things they do in the regular season.  It brings so much to Friday night lights

With all the seeding talk over the years, I took it upon myself to mock up a bracket based off of last year's Sagarin ratings for class 6A, split by North/South. What does everyone think of this?

Edit: the seed numbers aren't exactly right. I took all 32 teams, seeded them 1-16 based off of their respective half of the state, and plugged them into a generic bracket generator.

Like this only thing I might do is slit them east and west as well

These ten programs have sustained a high level of success spanning three decades. They are the only ones who have at least five sectional titles in each of the past three decades:

Ben Davis, Carmel, Eastbrook, Mater Dei, Dwenger, Luers, Snider, Cathedral, Chatard, and Penn.

I do like the idea of looking back 30 years.   But I disagree with having to have more than one coach.  My reason for that is you can have some coach at one place for more then 30 years.

also before coach Moore got to CG their was a guy named Kevin King as the coach.  he was starting to turn the program in upward direction.  He never won a sectional but that was during the time where Bloomington south a Martsville where still top tier programs
