    SIAC Sectionals Round 1

Thanks for the update. I heard rumors the KY schools wanted out - at least Apollo and Catholic I think. Last time the Border gsmes fell apart it was because Bosse and Harrison pulled out. It would be tough to keep 8 coaches and AD’s happy unless there was a lot of money.

Just saw the news highlights. Bosse took a 1 yard screen for a 60+ yard TD, took a sweep for almost a 70yd TD. You don’t see speed like that in the Big 8.

You should be fine. I heard they have drains right next to the field. Safe travels and injury-free play to all!

From what I can gather, seems like Sectional 31 has the best 3A 1st round game in the southern half of the state. North Harrison vs Lawrenceburg is the one I would highlight as one to watch. What happened in Stink Town? Their QB has 200+ attempts and 2,000 yards passing? That’s like several career’s worth based on what I have seen the last 3-4 years from Coach K’s teams.

I'm not real familiar with that side of the state. Out of curiosity, do the computers** generally favor the EIAC teams over the MSC? Most likely due to SOS factors if so. **Games are played on the field and not on computers!
  6. Then maybe you're not human and don't have a family. LOL Just kidding of course. I would bet it is more common in some areas as opposed to others, primarily by official population density and school corps. around. I forgot to mention in my earlier post, that it could be an easy to avoid conflicts - for example send crews from Evansville to Fort Wayne for first round games and vice versa. But I don't think anybody would want that!
  7. I can't imagine how big an undertaking assigning officials must be. Last I checked, most officials were human... I think. Just kidding, but what I mean is that they all most likely graduated from different Indiana High Schools, have kids that attend different Indiana high schools or middle schools, and even some have relatives in the coaching profession. The last thing the IHSAA wants is to have a crew assigned to the East High vs Central West and the back judge has a kid that attends East. Then irate message board posters would have plenty to vent about. #RefsHaveFamiliesToo

    SIAC Sectionals Round 1

I’m going the pure homer route. SIAC sectional sweep of 16, 24, 32, & 40. Castle, Central, Memorial, and Mater Dei are all the top ranked Sagarin teams. And who am I to argue with his formula? Lol

I’m aware that it is dangerous to compare scores, especially from week 1 and week 9. But this is a head scratcher: Indian Creek vs Mater Dei L 31-22 Indian Creek vs Northview L 32-22 I think round 2 matchups could be some great games with a Jasper/Boonville rematch and Northview playing Central/Reitz.

Jasper, with their win over Southridge, have a win against a team with a winning record. That is something Mt Vernon, Southridge, and Gibson Southern can't claim. In the friendly confines of Ruxer ** I mean Jerry Brewer ** Field, I expect them to win over Harrison by 2-3 TDs. - Chump edit- I got my Jasper fields confused

Momma always said if you have to explain a joke it wasn’t very funny. Last 3 years: HH is 0-3 in first round games. I think they right the ship this year and play into November.

This thread is getting fun. Here’s some more friendly banter: Did you know there are 3 year-olds in Lincoln City who don’t realize sectional can be more than just one game?

    Sectional 24

You can blame the IHSAA for many things. Not sure I would put Sectional 24 up high on that list though. That sectional has always had some interesting arrangements. Seymour, Silver Creek (Sellersburg), and Floyd Central have all had to make the long drive to Evansville for a 1st round sectional game. I think Silver Creek was even supposed to host Reitz but the IHSAA moved the game to Evansville because SC didn't have visitor stands. Now that was something. I would blame NAFTA, Clinton, Bush, Obama, and Trump before I'd blame the IHSAA. (Kidding, of course!) But look at the demographic trends. Mt Vernon (Posey) has been 4A in the past. Vincennes Lincoln was 4A and won sectionals and a regional. Declining enrollments in those towns have caused them to drop to 3A, leaving the need to add two non-SW Indiana teams. Just so happens that these two years they went North pulling in those 2 as opposed to east and taking SC and Scottsburg.

Interesting draw, at least based on Sagarin. #8 @ #4 #6 @ #1 #5 @ #2 #3 @ #7 If the top teams advance it will be seeded correctly, with the exception of HH @ GS instead of the game being played at the Jungle.

Yes. But when the wind hits just right you can smell Shyler's and Five Guys.
