Memorial just has some tough dudes. Manhandled the Huskies all night at every position. Will North ever learn how to play offense?
-
Warriors looked pretty bad Friday but Reitz can do that to a lot of teams.

Confirmed by Jasper WITZ, Jasper will be down 2 starters against Harrison
It won’t matter.

3 plus hours of tailgating could be a bad thing for a few guys I know. Hydration won’t be a problem!

MD has a lot to clean up/figure out on offense. 4 turnovers against Central . Can't have that going forward. The soph QB made some good throws though. With more reps he will continue to improve. But we've got a rough stretch with Castle, Memorial, VL, Jasper and North coming up
Who is playing QB? Just heard over the weekend that Mason Wunderlich decided to come home from Ball State.

I would assume some teams will be practicing in the mornings or late in the evening. As far as the games go, personally I am hoping they just push them back to 7:30/8:00 to allow the temp to cool down rather than move them to Saturday.
I think a few had workouts this morning.
7:30 start times is an option being discussed. -
A win over any Jasper team is a good win. Doesn’t matter the sport. Good W for a young Tiger team.

Fisher and Schulz were good. Ellspermann and Broshears were terrific.
But, man, Memorial has some work to do on both lines. Just…not good.
Jasper just made a series of fatal mistakes at the worst times/situations. Uncharacteristically sloppy performance from the Wildcats.
DL played good football. Completely disagree with, Just…..not good.

Or Turoni’s
Memorial families are more the Pangea type. If you haven’t had it you are missing out.

It will take a lights out effort and an off night by Reitz for them not to go 9-0. That still may not be enough this year in the regular season. Playoffs bring a different element. A hiccup there and it’s season over.

I’m not sure anybody needs to put the SIAC on notice for Jasper. I would almost bet my house every coach understands how legit Jasper is year in and year out. Just my hunch.
Jasper‘s biggest question is can they be more diverse come tournament time on offense. I think teams are ready to face the Jasper style office by week 10. -

Awesome! I think that's a big time pick up for SIU. It seems like Boeke keeps getting bigger and with his grades he probably could have went to a lot of really good D1s.
Good get for SIU. I think it’s a good fit for Boeke. High level FCS D1 football played in the Missouri Valley.

Central looked very organized last night. Kid's hustling on and off the field, helping our kids off the ground etc. It looked WAY different from that perspective compared to years past.
Hope they give this young HC time. It starts with organization and effort.

Lincoln did not blow me away this evening...for what its worth in a scrimmage.
Hunt looked incredible but the offense as a whole was a little underwhelming in the early going. The defense, however, was solid all the way through. Not much else to take away with so many basic plays and schemes.
Key is to stay healthy and get a few reps. Castle and Memorials1st units had good moments and not so good moments. Looking forward to seeing if VL can carry some momentum from last year and take it to even another level.
They have a good core to build around.- 1

But that's what the opposition wants. The only way Reitz is losing until regionals will be due to lack of discipline or maybe injuries. But from what I've heard, save for one sore thumb, the culture and leadership is much improved. I guess that's something you should expect to happen with that many seniors and returning starters though.
Improved? Crazy to think just yesterday I had a paid asst football coach at Reitz tell me there’s no way the suspended player should be on or near the team ever again.
I guess the HC and asst coach may not be on the same page.
Maybe this is just an isolated incident under Brunson .- 1

What was the deal with no spectators at their intra-squad scrimmage?
Not sure.

Love it! HC made a couple players go back to locker room and put on Central practice shorts and shirt at 1st official practice. It’s the little things.

I know this will surprise many, but it sounds like a Brunson coached team is struggling with consistent discipline and accountability. #shocker

So who knows who all the transfers into Reitz are this year? Hearing there are a bunch.
A big LB from St X. In Louisville. Sophomore 240lbs.

Fisher looked legit. He could be a D1 FCS QB if baseball doesn’t work out.
If they find a couple weapons on the outside, Fisher will be a problem on Friday nights. Porter Rode will create a lot of opportunities for WRs.

Still good enough to win the sectional and likely play Triton Central in the regional for the 5th straight year
I would think that’s a given in sectional 40

Evansville Mater Dei with only 7 returning starters all together.

I think I’d favor Evansville Memorial over Evansville Mater Dei. 5 state appearances. 2 titles. Title in 2 classes.
Oops. Last 10 years. I think I’d still favor Memorial.

So, I am going to try my hand at this. I am going by just the last ten seasons.
1. Center Grove (Has been in 6 out of the 10 state title games, 4 wins)
2. Cathedral (Won 4 titles in 5A, and been competitive in 6A)
3. Chatard (4 state title wins in last ten seasons in 3A)
4. Carmel (Has been to 5 state title games in last 10 seasons, winning 2)
5. Westfield (Has been in 4 state title games total, winning 1 in 5A, 2 appearances in 5A and 2 in 6A)
6. New Palestine (Has 4 state appearances, 3 wins and 1 Regional championship)
7. Ben Davis (Has 2 state title wins and 4 Regional championships)
8. Columbus East (Has 3 states, 2 wins and 2 Regional championships, in 4A and 5A)
9. Valparaiso (Has 2 total appearances, 1 win and 2 Regional championships)
10. Evansville Mater Dei (3 state appearances, 2 wins and 1 Regional championship)
**The notation of Regional Champ is for seasons that ended in Semi-State, the years the teams won or appeared in state is not included in those numbers
I think I’d favor Evansville Memorial over Evansville Mater Dei. 5 state appearances. 2 titles. Title in 2 classes.
SIAC Week 2

Sounds like the Reitz kicker hit a couple bombs.
VL is set to have a really good year. After 2 weeks I’d put Reitz, VL, and Memorial as the top 3 teams in SIAC.
lots can happen but after two weeks those look like the contenders.
