Where is Mason going to school next season and is he planning on playing football?  That kid can sling the rock and his size alone should put him on the radar for college programs.  Bowen is a beast also.  I love to see the small schools get some love in this Mr. Football award.  Those guys could be stars at any level in HS.

I think he has a couple NAIA opportunities but maybe more will come with this recognition.

I think it will be Bowen.

    Here are some stats:

    1. 220/336 (65.6% completion) - 2,911 yards, 29 TDs, 11 INTs. State runner-up, state champ Jr/ Sr year

    2. 247/386 (64% completion) - 3,868 yards, 51 TDs, 7 INTs. State champ, State Runner-up Jr/Sr year

If Michael Lindauer (stat line #2) didn't win Mr. Football, Wunderlich (#1) probably won't either.

And if it wasn't for some Karlaftis guy currently running around KC, Lindauer would have been 2 time state champ.

Not a bad final 3 that season

    1 Kiser

    2 Bell

    3 Lindauer

also in the mix Romeir Elliot.

Memorial will probably do what memorial does. Turn it on when it matters most. That coaching staff has the ability like no other to get everything clicking come tournament time.

While Memorial has certainly been a really good tournament team, I think sometimes people overlook the Tigers regular season successes. Only 12 regular season loses dating back to 2016 season.  Averaging less than 2 losses per regular season over last 7 years. But I do agree about the coaches. They find a way to elevate the kids to a different mode come tournament time.

  4. I don’t think any Memorial fan I associate with thinks they walk through 3A.  GS is perfect example.  I think several GS fans thought they would win 3 straight sectional titles with Allen. Just speaks to the competition level in 3A.  A team/program of GS caliber only winning 1 since 2016 is proof enough it’s not easy down here.

Why do we still do "All City"?  Not putting it down in any way....I just have never had anyone who could really explain it to me.  What's the point, I mean your conference is your conference?  Wasn't Castle the only team excluded for years....that just seems weird to me.  They might be a great reason, I just haven't heard it.

I think it’s more to do with the tradition of the Downtown QB Club. It’s also voted on by players only.  I think.

    SIAC absolutely crushes the PAC

I think it would be fair to say SIAC could have a deeper team, like numbers 3’s and 4’s on the depth chart.   I’ve watched enough of both conferences to say the 1’s & 2’s would be some damn good matchups.  Not sure all 4 teams on depth chart wouldn’t make for damn good matchups.  Last time I checked it’s 11 vs 11.  Can’t see SIAC being much better.

Oh, my bad. Let me rephrase. I'd love to see the trophy anyone actually cares about from the week 4 and 9 wins.

I care. Sometimes when a team is struggling to win important post season games, like Memorial, it’s nice to know Tiger fans can celebrate the Cake-eater trophy in the off-season.

Congrats to both teams but as someone who still has Enlow PTSD was I mistaken in thinking there wasn’t a literal ocean of people in the Enlow stands like year’s past.

I, perhaps mistakenly, recall those stands as being full to the brim during the various whoopings my beloved Trojans were bestowed there.

I can recall some recent Memorial regional and semi state games where it was standing room only. Disappointing crowd for the Tigers.

You could make a reasonable argument that David Bell wasn’t even the “best” player on his team that year. Without a doubt he was the most talented player, but people forget that Romeir Elliott ran for 3000+ yards and 41 TD’s that same year. Elliott should feel every bit as snubbed as Bell.

I think that year the Mr Football finished in this order

    1 Kiser

    2 Bell

    3 Lindauer

    4 Elliott

    5 George

Crazy Warren Central had 3 of top 5 vote getters.  Not 100% on George. I think the 3 finalists were Kiser, Bell, and Lindauer.  What a year.

Jasper goes home after the first game of sectional for the second year in a row. We are on quite the tournament drought.

But proud of our guys and how they played in a tough year. Multiple key freshmen got a lot of experience this year which will only help us in the future.

Good luck to Memorial next week. Don't you dare get beat by Boonville or we will never hear the end of it. Lol

    Nothing can replace game experience.
NEVER hear the end is 100% correct.  Lol.
