    School Fight Songs

When I was a kid I thought it was so cool to try and learn everyone's fight song in the SAC in Fort Wayne...off the top of my head... Bishop Dwenger: "When the saints go marching in" Bishop Luers : Original Concordia : Original Snider : Wave the flag (miami ohio) Northrop : Northwestern Fight Song with original wording Wayne : Minnesota Rouser South Side : Original ...."To the school that has no equals" North Side : Original...Chief Mac and Varsity Carroll : Ohio State Fight Song Homestead : Original (only one not totally sure on)

    Fountain Central new coach

North Side was 35-30 under Ryan Hall with 2 runner up finishes in the SAC, an SAC championship in 2013...2 wins over Fort Wayne Dwenger, 2 wins over Fort Wayne Snider and 3 sectional title game appearances...North Side is 1-19 since his departure.... He brings a 3-4 blitz crazy defense with multiple ways of bringing pressure from everywhere on the field! You are going to get a highly motivated and extremely physical product on the field on Friday nights at a program already rich with success! God speed coach Hall!

    SAC week 8

SAC WEEK 8 CARROLL AT CONCORDIA: Carroll comes into Friday’s game after being thumped by old NHC rival Homestead while Concordia slides in off an impressive 3TD victory over an athletic Wayne squad. Both schools 3-3 present similar matchups on both sides of the ball and I see this being a pretty even game. Carroll with the 6A depth and the taste of a 33-3 butt kicking last year from the Cadets still fresh in their minds, I am going to take Carroll in a slight upset…..CARROLL 31 CONCORDIA 28 DWENGER AT SNIDER: Last year’s battle saw Snider spot Dwenger a 3TD lead out of the gate, only to see the Panthers storm back winning 32-25 at Bishop Dwenger. Snider is clearly the best team in the area but a sluggish performance last week against a weak Northrop team leaves much to be desired for the Panthers if they are going to make any kind of run in 6A. Dwenger on the other hand got out by the skin of their teeth last week winning 15-14 in big part thanks to a late Luers fumble and subsequent FG that gave Dwenger the Bishops Trophy. In the mid 2000’s this was the absolute can’t miss game in the city with stadiums at capacity 90 minutes before kickoff. Snider however has controlled the series as of late winning 5 of the last 6 and I see nothing from Dwenger’s offense to indicate Friday evening will be any different. BD defense keeps them in it…for a bit……….SNIDER 38 DWENGER 10 NORTHROP AT NORTH SIDE: Northrop played their most complete game of the season last week hanging with Snider for 4 quarters ultimately falling 49-35 to the Panthers. North side on the other hand dropped their second straight Totem Pole game to South, lost their 13th game in a row and their 19th out of the last 20….Northrop offense will be way too much for a Legends defense that frankly looked lost against South Side and North just doesn’t have the weapons to move it…NORTHROP 49 NORTH 19 SOUTH SIDE AT LUERS: The Calhoun Street Brawl is a rivalry that unfortunately has lacked a bit of late, only seeing the Archers win twice since 2007. Bishop Luers is coming off a heartbreaking loss to arch rival Bishop Dwenger a week ago while the Archers come in flying high with confidence after once again knocking off North Side. Bishop Luers has struggled to move it at times this season and don’t forget that South put up 28 two weeks ago in the first half against Carroll….I don’t have it in me to pick an upset…but closer than the experts think in this one………………LUERS 31 SOUTH SIDE 26 WAYNE AT HOMESTEAD: Man what can be said about Wayne that hasn’t already been said…the sexy pick by a lot of people to be this year’s surprise SAC team, the Generals look to be on a collision course with a 3-6 regular season record….positive is that they got an advantageous sectional draw and look like a shoe in to play in the Sectional championship game…but a lot of work to be done on the offensive side of the ball before they consider themselves a real contender for anything much more than that….Homestead on the other hand continues to roll but cannot be pleased getting the Snider rematch a week before it should really take place, and at Spuller none the less…Homestead begins prepping now for Snider and it starts Friday against a Wayne 4-4 defense that is cut from the same cloth as the defensive look the Panthers run….Sparty rolls……..HOMESTEAD 42 WAYNE 12

    SAC week 7

LUERS VS DWENGER: A tale of two teams for both of the Bishops this year as they have both produced some Jekyll and some Hyde along the way… Dwenger has played some outstanding defense this season at times and Luers has been equally explosive on offense in spurts behind Mr Pressley. Bishop Dwenger can normally stop the run and put it on opposing offenses to beat them through the air and I think that is what Dwenger does Friday Night………DWENGER 28 LUERS 21 CONCORDIA VS WAYNE: Wayne played Snider tough last Friday especially on the defensive side of the ball where they seemed organized, hungry, and nasty…same cannot be said for Wayne’s offense right now as they had numerous delay of game penalties as well as having to burn time outs and rush plays because they weren’t out of the huddle in time….Concordia’s loss was a head scratcher last week but when you turn it over 6 times you really aren’t going to beat anyone….Wayne will have the much better athletes Friday but Concordia will not make the same mistakes 2 weeks in a row…CONCORDIA 31 WAYNE 20 HOMESTEAD VS CARROLL: Carroll has improved quite a bit since the early season thumping at the hands of the Snider Panthers while Homestead continues to roll on after the loss to Snider at Lucas Oil…Mr Wright is the real deal for Homestead and Miguel has impressed me over the last few weeks as well so should be a good QB battle but Homestead is just too much this season and has clearly cemented themselves as the 2nd best team in the SAC….HOMESTEAD 42 CARROLL 24 SNIDER VS NORTHROP: A weird performance last week out of the Panthers as Wayne didn’t play exceptionally well, Snider didn’t play that badly, but a 7-0 halftime score left people in the stadium scratching their heads……hard to get sky high two weeks in a row though and after the almost flawless game against Homestead it was only natural to see somewhat of a letdown…Northrop on the other hand continues to just not care to play any defense and Snider loves hanging big crooked numbers on the Bruins every chance they get!...........SNIDER 63 NORTHROP 13 SOUTH SIDE VS NORTH SIDE: From 2010-2015 North Side and South Side met 7 times (when you include sectional play) with the then Redskins winning all 7 and beating South by an average score of 37-12….that all ended last year as the Archers regained the Totem Pole for the first time since the 2009 season with a 14-12 victory at Chambers Field…Gone are the days of North Side dominance in this series (9-2 over the last 11) and now that South has the belief they can get it done in this series, and the offense to do so, there is no reason not to believe South gets it done at home Friday night! South has an explosive offense and while North has gotten better on that side of the ball, they will not be able to keep up with the Archers playmakers…Totem Pole stays on Calhoun another season…….SOUTH SIDE 34 NORTH SIDE 25

    SAC week 6

WEEK 6 SAC DWENGER AT CONCORDIA: A struggling Saints Offense continues to confuse fans, lining up in split back power football one play and 5 wide gun the next…quarterback Eddie Morris was injured last week for the Saints leaving them with a sophomore (OKeefe) who I actually thought played extremely well even though he was being protected play calling wise…..Concordia on the other hand knows exactly who they are offensively and have momentum and confidence over the Saints after handling them last year in route to the 3A state title! I like more of the same Friday…CONCORDIA 28 DWENGER 17 CARROLL AT SOUTH SIDE: An impressive 4th quarter last week from the Chargers masked an abysmal start as Carroll was left searching themselves for some form of offensive identity before they let Miguel just start slinging it all over the place against BD……South has improved some from week one on the offensive side of the ball but still give up way too many points and will always be outcoached staff wise in games like these…special teams will play a key role Friday as a few Archer mistakes I feel will be easily capitalized on by the Chargers…..CARROLL 38 SOUTH 12 HOMESTEAD AT NORTH: Homestead did everything they could offensively to keep themselves in the ball game last week against the clear AREA NUMBER 1 Snider Panthers….A powerful Panther running game was too much to overcome for Homestead but they will get right back on track Friday night as they run into the worst team in the SAC…North scored a few more points last week against a less than totally focused Luers squad, but the Legends still average less than 9 points a night and without the freshman Collins, this offense will continue to struggle against anyone decent…HOMESTEAD 56 NORTH SIDE 6 NORTHROP AT LUERS: Luers got back to their winning ways last week against the above mentioned SAC cellar dweller Legends…Northrop continues to struggle immensely on the defensive side of the ball but the Bruins always can score and ALWAYS seem to play Luers tough! A look ahead game before the Knights take on arch rival Bishop Dweger next week?? The UPSET OF THE WEEK…….NORTHROP 35 LUERS 31 SNIDER AT WAYNE: Snider by how many they want, whenever they want, against whoever they want until they face Homestead again in the Sectional, Best team in Northern Indiana hands down not even close………….SNIDER 49 WAYNE 13

    SAC week 5

SAC WEEK 5 CARROLL AT DWENGER: Two programs that are desperately searching for an identity…Bishop Dwenger is coming off their worst loss since a 43-0 thumping by Snider in 2012, while Carroll has gotten things going over the last 2 weeks, even though those wins are against opponents with a combined 1-7 record…I see a low scoring affair as BD is really struggling to find an offensive identity, but I think the Saints defense will be enough to out grind a perplexing Carroll squad Friday night…..DWENGER 20 CARROLL 14 CONCORDIA AT NORTHROP: Concordia is coming off a 28-7 win against Bishop Luers last Friday (their third straight in the series over the Knights) while Northrop for the third time in four games this year gave up 43 points or more Friday night to Carroll…Concordia is establishing themselves again as a contender in 3A and is playing outstanding defense while Northrop is still struggling with injuries and continues to tackle absolutely no one……..CONCORDIA 43 NORTHROP 14 LUERS AT NORTH SIDE: Not a better time for Bishop Luers to draw North Side on the season schedule then coming off scoring 10 total points in 2 weeks…North Side was more competitive last week but still seem completely lost as a program… they also lost their only real offensive playmaker to injury, freshman Ronald Collins III, and have to turn back to the senior they replaced at QB…don’t be surprised to see a few pick 6’s go the Knights way Friday….LUERS 35 NORTH SIDE 6 SOUTH SIDE AT WAYNE: The fun part of the schedule continues for the General as they continue to build momentum and confidence as their run of playing 3 bad SAC schools ends after this Friday when they take on the Panthers next week….as for this week, Wayne will roll again as South Side continues to attempt to figure out how to score points…………WAYNE 40 SOUTH SIDE 13 HOMESTEAD VS SNIDER (LUCAS OIL STADIUM): Two good coaches who are a combined 204-55 all time…two top 7 teams in 6A according to the Sagrain Ratings…two teams averaging over 45 a night and holding opponents to less than 12…the SAC title on the line…and in Lucas Oil to boot! This one will be a lot of fun for all in attendance! I do believe this is the most “real” Homestead has been in a long time...this isn’t a sexy offense making up for a bad team…Homestead is fast and physical this year and plays gritty defense……however…in a big game…there is no one I trust more than the Snider Panthers around here! Snider knows in spots like these they can run the football when they need to and will be able to put enough pressure on Wright to make him feel uncomfortable…the first Snider offensive drive will tell the story of the game…if they are able to run it at will then I like them to win by a few scores…if not Homestead will be around until the end with a chance to win their first SAC title….SNIDER 38 HOMESTEAD 28

    SAC week 4

CONCORDIA AT BISHOP LUERS: Concordia was extremely impressive in their 24-7 loss last week to the hands down conference champion Snider Panthers…Luers meanwhile was drubbed at the hands of the Homestead Spartans 47-3…I still think however Bishop Luers possesses all around better talent than Concordia and I like them to bounce back at home Friday…..LUERS 28 CONCORDIA 24 NORTH SIDE AT WAYNE: It was scary to see in person last week what a disciplined Wayne squad can do when firing on all cylinders…defensively they will have some work to do to clean up some mistakes going forward…but the offensive playmakers were on full display last Friday and the Legends have shown no signs of being able to slow anyone down this season, or score for that matter….WAYNE 48 NORTH SIDE 7 NORTHROP AT CARROLL: No Schoenle and no Edwards in the backfield last week sealed the Bruins fate as they just didn’t have the fire power to hang with Wayne…Carroll got an easy one to get some momentum and stop the bleeding after the 0-2 start….If Northrop was at full strength I would take the Bruins here…but they still play absolutely no defense…CARROLL 38 NORTHROP 21 SOUTH SIDE AT SNIDER: South has scored 36 points this year and are giving up 37 points a night…The Panthers come in averaging 51 a ball game and I see them right around that mark Friday…ho hum Panthers roll yet again………..SNIDER 56 SOUTH SIDE 7 HOMESTEAD AT DWENGER: This game could and should decide who finishes 2nd in the SAC this season….a high powered Homestead offensive attack against a stingy Dwenger defense…however the one area Dwenger has always been susceptible is through the air and while I think Homestead doesn’t throw it at will Friday, they will be able to find enough against a sometimes head scratching offensive scheme and play calling by the Saints……..HOMESTEAD 31 DWENGER 21
