  1. What can be stated about the BD Saints? No one would want to make excuses, but then again, any critiquing pretty much sums up excuses. Where should we begin? Oh, I know student enrollment for the four grades is 930. That number is within the bottom third of Class 4A. A couple of years back, the enrollment was about 1060. And yes, then they were playing in Class 5A. Not every year will produce a banner season with the changing of the athletes' blend. There must be a reshuffling of top performers between all of the eligible athletes; usually, these are from grade 10 through grade 12. Then, there is the change of the position's coaching staff from year to year. Some stay many seasons, and others want to find out how effective they will be in their responsibilities. They make their enthusiasm known and stay for another season or more,e relishing their time with the athletes. Others make an early exit after a season or two. Not everyone on the staff may have the coaching longevity or the gravelly voice of one J. Fred Tone. "Sudden Change!"

Snider will take Dwenger out, North Side May surprise everyone. Dwenger lost their QB to North. They look tough.

Dwenger will be very small on the OL. Dwenger will be like last year but will be out first round.

Is your response of downplaying the 2022 version, just another attempt to view it in a similar way as Coach Lou Holtz used to do, when he was the head coach at the N.D. Irish? I believe the media called his remarks as sandbagging. Or are you already disappointed and the game season has yet to commence?

So your saying if certain schools wanted to form their own organization they could travel at will, hire and pay officials more, sanction their own tournament, define classes fairly, and everyone could be happy? AND the IHSAA would just disappear?

I make a motion we form the GIDHSAA and accomplish all the above. Do I hear a second?

@Bobref is hereby nominated as Director of Officiating

@DE and @temptation are in charge of determining class divisions

@JustRules will be in charge of travel limitations or lack thereof

@Muda69 is in charge of the entire boondoggle

@WWFan is in charge of enrolling member schools

The floor is now open for additional nominations.

Where should we hold our first convention?

    😂🤷🏼‍♂️🤦

This alternative idea for another high school sports governing body in Indiana, has been attempted before. And while it did garner some support, it eventually did lose interest. It did accomplish to have loads of discussion, before coming to a screeching halt. The big supporters wanted to nominate and install the famous Bobby Plump, of the 1954 Milan High School Indiana, State Championship Basketball team, as the first commissioner.

  4. For the Lucas Oil Stadium, End Zone view, you'll not need the elaborate telescoping High Reach tripod you would use at your high school football stadium end zone view. You can use a sturdy 'VIDEO TRIPOD' (not a still camera tripod; they're not the same), and a quality Video 'SD' Card recording camcorder style camera (Not a dual purpose still camera/video camera), because you'll need the powered zoom feature. You may video from the designated place on the walk way at the top of the first level End Zone seats above the rail. This is not clear at the top of the nosebleed seats on the video deck, as if you would be if you're videoing  a High Sideline view.

I think Dwenger, Luers, Homestead and Carroll should leave the SAC and start a new conference. Fill the schedule with Indy and Region Teams. Let's be honest here.

Hmm!  As you've stated earlier in the last few weeks all kinds of formulas have been hashed out and discussed here on this forum, and you've made different proposal's of a blend for conference teams over the last several years. At one point, you so noted, the at administrator's of each of the schools accepted an idea for consideration, and by a vote of yeas and nays turned it down. It will take a lot changed hearts to even consider some new, or even an older idea. Where do you believe your most recent idea of a proposal would be going, if you could find a few administrators to again consider your idea of a plan? Do you want to guess, or would you rather, all of the readers of your idea to guess?

  6. Well, everyone can chime in here until there're 'blue' in the face, but none of these many years of discussion about this topic, and on this forum, can not and will not go anywhere until such a time, that the public and non-public school corporations of the SAC have decided this is what they want to do. Such changes expressed here have no horsepower to see something accomplished at all. There are only two Interscholastic sanctioned sports in the SAC, where ten schools are represented. All of the other sports, with the exception of men's and women's basketball, have only eight schools represented; I.E., Homestead and Carroll are not part of the SAC for those, and as I believe, this is the way it was originally designed. To formulate a different plan, would obviously take a bucu load of campaign lobbying before achieving just a consideration. I have no additional input for even beginning such an effort, whereby, I'm only pointing out the obvious.

I know what these words mean, and I understand the sentence, but I have no idea what you mean by it. Like is it supposed to be sarcastic? Are you making fun of me? I’m genuinely baffled on this one 😂

I'm sorry, that you seem to be under the comprehension, I must be talking down to you. I don't want to provide for you any misunderstanding, that might lead you into believing any misconception.

    From my topic about this:

The Saints welcomed in the Panthers last week and just dominated from kickoff to kneel down. Playing a rival can do special things for a team. So can the fact that you might be related to half of your teammates. Zionsville had a brutal regular season schedule that has them more than prepared for the Fort's Fighting Tippmanns. Zionsville by 20

This is just so wonderful, that the Creator has given to you, a wonderful gift of clairvoyance. Use it well.

Dwenger has revenge on their mind..last years game was tight until the 4th with some bad special team play n a few calls that didn't go their way..ik the eagles have seen the new wrinkles BD added last week yet it looked like cyo in November per usual..kolkman is a veteran coach n they imho have the highest chance of pulling an upset

The Bishop Dwenger Head Football Coach is Jason Garrett, who has been at the helm since Chris Svarczkopf retired from coaching in 2017. Casey Kolkman was the Defensive Coordinator, until he took the Head Coaching job, a couple of years back, with the Heritage H.S. Patriots at Monroeville.

Snider vs Dwenger for a sectional title..doesn't get much better in early November..cyo teams don't lose too often n the panthers will need their best game yet to bring in the hardware..comes down to special teams..Sni high by 1

Carroll vs Warsaw had Warsaw originally picked to win this game until Concord stubbed their toe last week ..still think the Tigers n Bart ball give dinan fits until they figure it out late..chargers by 3

Wayne vs Mississinewa the generals will have their work cut out for them if planning on the upset..sectional titles don't happen after the first win (unless ur in 6a) n hopefully they didn't celebrate too much..maybe haydock shows his state ring as little extra motivation..miss by 6

Luers vs Eastside tough call with the knights rolling although the blazers have yet to taste defeat..if the green n white can score first n often..coach k will be in for a long knight..being on calhoun brings the ghosts of glories past n they get it in ot by 2.

Calhoun you state; the school address is 333 E. Paulding Road, and the Eastside of the Luers stadium is actually along S. Lafayette St., but the address for the Stadium is Doan Drive.

Totally agree.   Will not attend a game there.

They, being Bishop Luers High School, are just lucky to have a stadium of any description. Back in the 1960's and 1970's the Athlete's (Football) Father's Club had set up a fund raising program for just this purpose. On Sunday evenings after Sunday evenings for many a year, these dads hosted card parties (that's Catholic slang for BINGOS) in the school cafeteria. The Mungovan Family helped out from  day one, so also did Thomas 'TUCK' Tone, and many others of that time. At one time the school principal wanted the raised funds to be turned in to the school's general fund, but the Club President, did not capitulate, and continued to keep all of the funding separate. Eventually the very basic stadium was constructed, and with repurposed stadium lighting from some baseball park, which the club had purchased, and relocated. Now I'm sure some of my details are sketchy. So, someone has mor information about this very old project, be my guest and have at it.

    Luers was a away team.

Why didn't anyone who knew what was going on shed some light that BDHS Media Productions was handling the 'LIVE' Stream on YOUTUBE. The commentators are knowledgeable: I.E., Eric Pete, and Cory Kitchen, along with Sean McBride on the sideline. The quality of the video is somewhat marginable because four different  B.D. students, during the game, are camera videographers'. A couple of B.D. teachers are the moderators. Last night's video was quite dark, because the wrong (iris) lens opening aperture was employed.

So I hear you have to buy your tickets for Concordia home games on line? Such BS. Service charge included.

    Does the IHSAA know this?

It appears they're just following the example of the FWCS teams in the Conference. And if the IHSAA knows about the FWCS, then certainly they should know about the 'CADETS'.

    Luers over Cadets

    Wayne over North

    Carroll over Bruins

    South over Snider lol

    Homestead over Dwenger

Down hill from here for Dwenger

How do you believe this group of Bishop Dwenger seniors performed as freshman for their nine game season? They won all their games of the eight conference teams they played. Game 9 was a substitute game fill in for one of the conference team that wasn't able to fill an all frosh squad. So, they played the DeKalb 'Barons' at Waterloo, for the win.

Texas doesn't allow private schools to even play in the UIL. Just saying.

This is so accurate. And this situation has been around for about 40 or more years. My question would be this. How was it, that the state of Texas was allowed to initiate this phenomena without the non-public schools bulking and filing any litigation for being discriminated against, just because they are non-public? Was it one of those issues, where the public majority schools had the upper hand with no repercussion?

HHF COMMENTARY / IFCA North - South All Star Game Results Indicate Urgent Need for Format Change

The South All Stars overwhelmed and outclassed the North in a 45-7 drubbing on Friday night at Anderson University, and the outcome could have been even worse for the North.
Its become abundantly clear to anyone watching that there is a huge competitive imbalance between the North and the South, especially at the big school level, and we see this manifest itself every Thanksgiving weekend when The MIC sends one of its rotating 6A state champions into the title game to put a beatdown on the North representative (unless there are 2 MIC schools in the final)

We have spoken with many head coaches in our on going interview series, and the one common thread mentioned repeatedly by northern Indiana coaches is the big strength and speed advantage the south has over their teams. Many Indy area schools have dedicated strength and conditioning coaches, and have facilities that mirror those you will find on college campuses. You also see more football-track and field crossover in the south, which is a huge training advantage for those schools that encourage , or demand, dual sport participation.

When I spoke with North Coach Grant Moser of South Adams during All Star week, he marvelled at the physical size of the south roster as he observed the players participating in various all star week activities.

Its not DNA. Its not the water in Indianapolis. And it has nothing to do with anything other than the fact that 18 year old central Indiana football players are, by and large, bigger, stronger and faster than their counterparts in the North. This is clearly due to a greater emphasis, and investment in strength and conditioning .

A simple short term proposal to even things out is to scrap the North - South format and switch to an East - West model. Draw a line right down the center of Indianapolis and assign MIC members Warren Central, Carmel, Lawrence Central and Lawrence North to the East, and Ben Davis, North Central, Center Grove and Pike to the West.

Same with the HCC. Noblesville, Franklin Central, HSE and Fishers to the East. Brownsburg, Avon, Westfield and Zionsville to the West.

Undoubtedly we would see better distribution of talent , and likely a better product delivered on the field.

Im also a fan of scrapping the North - South post season tournament alignment for an East - West model, for all the same reasons previously mentioned. Thats a discussion for another date

IFCA has ownership of the all star game, and they control every aspect of the event from staff and player selection to running the event on site.

We have no control over demographic or socio economic trends, population shifts, or other trends that may or may not impact competitive balance in high school football. Clearly, all of those trends mentioned reinforce the reality that Central Indiana continues to get bigger and stronger while other areas of the state, from a competitive standpoint, remain stagnant or fall into decline.

What we can control is our response and reaction to those trends. Do we accept the reality that change is happening and respond accordingly? Or do we ignore the trends and assume everything will balance out in the long run?

Its time for IFCA to take a hard look at this and consider making some changes. That game Friday night was not a good look for the organization.

These guys are truly 'jacked'! Anytime you can view that much lean muscle mass, and the cephalic and basilic veins which are very fluorescent, that tells you a great deal about the weight training regimen of these young men.

Let’s do like other states and put all of the private schools in their own division.  Public schools go back to 5 classes and Private schools go into 2 classes.

You do understand, in other states and with their High School Athletic Associations, some where successful with the idea of placing their non-public schools in a tournament of classes but based only on their non-public status. In other states some non-public schools viewed this procedure as discriminatory, and in such a way, that some of them filed a lawsuit to have it sorted out in the courts.
