What is the possibility that Southridge, Heritage Hills, Gibson Southern, Memorial, and Mater Dei all end up in the same sectional?

All of those teams could easily be in the top 10 and maybe even some in top 5 in 3A.

In every school below 4A this is likely fact.  Carmel has theirs made by skilled craftsmen from Italy. 

We (Heritage Hills) will travel to Christian Academy of Louisville in week 2.  

We played them in sectionals a couple years ago.  I don't think their football team has been very good.  Maybe this guy will bring the change they are looking for.

Indeed....SS will likely dump the game, and I hope it happens.  That needs to happen sooner than later.  Problem on both sides is the gate $$$$$$ for that game is always high.  But, as you know, the fact is that it is a waste of time for both teams.

Out of the SIAC...Reitz has went 9-0 two straight seasons but not sure they can make it three with how much they're losing. Can't rule them out though as I hear they could be reload candidates. If not them, I could see Memorial doing it as they return good talent from a sectional champ team.

Out of the SWIAC...Linton was solid last year and they return some of their top players on both sides, I could see them going 9-0 especially with their schedule.

There was a time (maybe still is the case) that we had more PAC championships than the rest of the PAC combined.  As it currently stands we haven't won the PAC since 2019.  While sectional is always on the top of the list, we would love to run the table, but as you have already pinpointed there are a few that give a challenge.

Southridge - oldest and historically most competitive rival, on paper we should smoke them but this will be contested

Gibson Southern - In the last decade our biggest rival - tons of love here, this game will be brutal

North Posey - again on paper shouldn't be close, but sometimes this is quite a game

New game in week 2 to replace Tell City (FINALLY) - Christian Academy of Louisville, they have won state in KY for the last 2 years in 3A and they runner-upped (i think) the year before that.  Pretty sure that will be contested.

We should be very, very good, and should be better than 2023, but we are talking about children and you just never know.  I am chomping at the bit for next season.

We have picked up Christian Academy - Louisville in the week 2 spot.  They have won 3A Kentucky state the last 2 years....should be an interesting game.

I'm not shocked TC did this.  This game was a waste of time for both of us.  South Spencer needs to go next.

There is more to that story.  Coach Clayton asked the PC coach to go to a running clock, he smarted off to Clayton and coach basically said ok then we will run it to 100.  We just didn't have enough time.....:)

So for the couple of you that might care, Dave dug this out and sent it to me last night.  Dave believes that this ONLY accounts for 1996-2006, so some of these have been broken, many likely will never be broken. If nothing else I found it interesting and terribly nostalgic.

QBs can have "Total Yards", which is a combination of Rushing, Passing, and Receiving.

I don't know much about the DeLong kid...but here is a little:

Sean DeLong had 1,860 AP yards this season (1313 rush, 425 rec, 122 return) and 23 TDs. (GS school record)

For his career, he had 4,300 AP yards and 48 TDs in 46 games as a starter. (GS school record)

Defensive career stats include 29 tackles, 2 for loss, 1 sack, 3 interceptions.

State Champion and First Team All-Conference RB as a Sophomore.

All Area WR, 1st Team All Conference WR, IFCA JR All-State WR as a Junior.

So far 1st Team All Conference RB as a Senior.

Currently has offers from Ky Wesleyan College, Taylor University, and Georgetown College.

You are about to win back-to-back 3A titles with your QB. Even as a sophomore he is probably the most dynamic athlete in 3A. He is the best individual player that Chatard saw in the playoffs and they got to play all of the best teams. The unfortunate part is that when he graduates the other kids at HH will have to take some lumps in 4A just because of 1 great player preceding him. They are the ones who will be “punished” for how good he is. That is the downside to success factor.  Nothing is perfect. Enjoy these next two years and I hope more kids from HH decide to play football. Like I’ve said, your kids played a great game. They were well coached. The community showed great support. And your fans showed out. 

While I appreciate the kind words and recognition of a very special athlete, everybody in Spencer County remembers in the late 90's when Jett's dad's team got upset in the sectionals.  That isn't lost on any of us....the future expectations are high, but children are children and if anything children are inconsistent and every teenage boy has the inherent ability to be a moron.  I know because I was one and I am a father to one on this team.  

2024 season has started, at this point we are looking to be competitive for a conference championship and competitive for a sectional.  

Well, now here we are.  This has went off the rails.  This game carries the stench of Rome!!!!

Anyway, here is the deal, we knew what we were running into.  The kid that had the 3 ints said it best, "We are used to this".  34ish seniors, 1 two way player, etc, etc.....

Here is the fact publics--deal with it.  We at HH have dealt with it on and off for over 25 years in the playoffs, what is the answer?  The answer is until the brain trust at the IHSAA changes the rules (which they won't) we have to get bigger, faster and stronger.  Period.  

I'm with @hhpatriot04--go do some Oklahoma drills.  Let's get to work!

Like I said, I know nothing of them as I have only lived in Indiana for three years. I’m still learning my way around. 

Jasper and Heritage Hills developed quite a rivalry over the years.  We do not play anymore due to the Big 8 conference dissolving and Jasper getting absorbed by the SIAC, and they have too many teams to have a non conference game.  We are still scrimmage partners the Friday before season starts.  

This is the very thing that we couldn't do with Batesville.  We won the turnover battle 3-0, but we only beat them by 3 and just didn't capitalize like we should have.

Nobody cares at this point but the "rough official" count for the night was about 6000 people.

Good grief.  

So, the attitude in Lincoln City is good and the attitude among the team is good.  They believe they can compete and believe they can win, which is necessary.  

As I think about this and the obstacles, I have a question for BC folks.  Do you have anyone playing both ways? I'm guessing your QB probably isn't also one of your leading tacklers.....

Jon's brother's name is Zach ('02). Was a starting E/CB on the 2000 team. He wrestled at UIndy.

Their father Tom was an amazing football player and track athlete at South Spencer in the late 70s/80s. He played in college too, but forgive me for not knowing the full bio.

Tom coached interior DL until Zach's senior year. He was a big teddy bear and one of "the favorite" personas and coaches during the Bob Clayton era. He sadly passed away about a decade ago, way too young, but with a lasting legacy. 

A little fun fact about Tom Goldsberry....he put a bunch of white catfish in my pond about 20 years (or so, probably longer) ago.  He was a great guy and is very missed in Spencer County.

Another name you will hear one of these days is Jett's little sister Gigi.  She came in 3rd (or 4th place) in the state middle school track meet in the 400--and she did it as a 6th grader.  When both your parents are D1 athletes...it doesn't hurt.
