  1. No days off huh..? Can we at least wait until Monday b4 6a talk? The sophomore n junior class will not leave the cupboard bare..sf always bites Snider at inopportune times..never back to back or chance at a 3 peat..always ss loss..state title..sf regional loss x2 then back to 5a..the team that could compete in 6a graduates n their returning comrades are blessed with reaping the benefits of being sf into 6a..any program that wins 5a n then 6a will go down in history..cathedral seems to be the front runner for this feat..at least Snider is a distant second..

Well, every team is capable of a bad game sometime during the season and that quick 14-0 lead against Homestead in the first 6 minutes was fools good. I do believe that was a wake up call and Snider is very dangerous right now

I concur..maybe some humble pie made them realize they need laser focus every game..heart goes out for the pirate player that got injured early..seemed like a playmaker..they will be back

With you on this, rings do matter. Don’t care that the Stiebling led team in 2015 was 5A champions, I will always believe the best 2 teams in the state that year were Snider and New Palestine, best game I have ever watched at the high school level

Loss to 4a champ dwenger that year..11 D1 recruits..rodney dangerfield anyone??

When thinking of the best all time teams at Snider, do the state title teams get special designation and move up the list or not? In my opinion, that hardware means something…

Imo it does mean a thing if a team collects a ring..problem is with 6a now being the heavyweight division teams of today don't have to slug it out with the 2500+ as prior teams once did which may dilute their status...being a homer..if they were 4a instead of 5a we would have thought title title title..same applied here until sum humble pie was served..glad these kids get to experience deep runs yet to win a state title still takes sum luck plus all the other intangibles..some players thought they were better than their dads on the 04 team..smh..

    I'm coming up with 3-2

    2004: Snider 49, Penn 7

    2012: Snider 42, Merrillville 39

    2014: Laporte 35, Snider 7

    2015: Snider 56, Kokomo 20

2022: Valpo 22, Snider 21     (blowing snow from the west, homefield advantage negated)

Worth noting: Spuller Stadium is one of the only stadiums whose home side faces the west, therefore negating much of their "home field advantage." The home team fights the sun in August and September, and blowing rain or snow in October and November. Inclement weather almost always comes from the west. I'll never understand why the Snider team and fans aren't moved over to the other side. The visitors shouldn't be more comfortable than the home team.

    Wayne stadium perfect example

  6. Ehh..in hs 37 yds in a regional game could be seen as "big/good"..the other with a minute left could definitely be seen as "good"..some may have shanked a chip shot when attempting the presumably game winner..I agree special teams play is major in november...Westfield kicking bombs in the rain years ago still brings agony...

  7. The pirates look good on film..expected a valpo rematch yet Merrillville probably had just as much if not more motivation to beat them than snider..that being said..da region still has the 5a title in their conference n the panthers may have to continue to shock me..wc..carroll..sparty😄...alot would have tucked tail with under a minute left against the cavemen..tippy had a gameplan that fit that matchup and they pulled it out..yet if the pirates do what the vikings did....schematics really won't matter

Agree. I had East Noble beating them in a close game the second time around. I certainly wasn't expecting the Knights to play catchup the for the entirety of the game. I know a good football team when I see one, and East Noble is good. So what's that make Leo? I'll say it again. Very high caliber 5A, mid caliber 6A. I really hope it comes down to Leo and East Central. I might show up for that one.

Northwood has D1 talent and mirrors Leo...they might  be considered in those ranks as well

I think special teams are a huge key to winning in post season. Mishawaka is fairly weak kicking FG's and XP's and that played into difference last night. Snider is usually has a good special teams and it should last night.

Their kicker hit big kicks last night..one being from 37 yds out..ik he missed an xp n they went for two rather than attempting to tie yet mathematically speaking it made sense..his kick with under a min left was clutch..
