Actually, I think Scecina was in 2A when they won their back-to-back titles and elected to stay in 2A despite their enrollment dropping to 1A level.

Yes, you're correct. They voluntarily stayed in 2A when their enrollment dropped.

It sounds like Chatard may be in 4A for a few years with this freshman class if everything I've heard about them is true. That is, assuming they bump up this year.

What does Chatard have a lot of?

    Apparently talent and humility.

Chatard running clocks the field every week through turkey day.  Everybody else needs to move over.

Even in the 70s they were a top 3A team, which was the top class at that time.  Why are they so happy to beat up on all the little guys and not voluntarily move up to 4A or 5A?

    Start taking your shots fellas.

Scecina is the only P/P team I ever remember voluntarily moving up a class. More should follow suit. At least in football.

  4. I'm torn on who to cheer for in this one. I'll watch online if I don't attend our game in person.

If Rochester's football program is as classy as their wrestling program, I wouldn't be sad to see them win. The Zebras put on a great wrestling tournament every year that my son has attended with HH. He finished 3rd as a Junior and 2nd last year. He lost a match he shouldn't have as a Junior, then won out, but he would have faced the future State Champion HWT if he had made it to the tourney championship. Always a great time up there.

In LCC's case, I'm more looking at a potential matchup in the Sectional final. Nothing better I'd like than to see a certain team get knocked out by a Hoosier Conference team......

Well….truth be told from around 1996-2017, Chatard won 11 Championships and if they threw more than 4 passes a game it was considered an excessive aerial display - unless 45 pitch tosses per game to the RB running between tackles can be considered passing.

With that, I’ll admit it’s a lot more entertaining to watch these days.

Yep, they used the ground and pound to beat up teams in a lower class all the way to the championship.

If this is the case then it's a stupid, nonsensical regulation, especially when the Colts game is a sellout.

It has been that way since the NFL was on TV. In the Indy area since 1984, since there was no home market team in Indianapolis before that. We were forced to watch the Bears every. single. week. That's how I became a Bengals fan.

Nope I’m talking Semi State but it seems this site has mass confusion about people posting… I would at this moment take Laville over Rochester or LCC… I didn’t realize everything needed to be explained in depth on this site.. Laville just handled Andreans pass attack with ease

Nope, I’m pretty sure there is only 1 guy confused.

" As an administrator of IHSAAtv.org, I think I'm in a position to comment. All schools, who are IHSAAtv affiliates are allowed to stream their sectional and regional games. They are exempt from having to pay rights fees. In fact, there are over 150 Indiana high schools who do! Some schools have decided to go at it independently. In those very isolated instances, they are not allowed to stream on social media such as youtube, facebook and etc. All games must air only on IHSAAtv.org. This decision was implement to prevent unsuspecting fans from following the thousand of phishing and spam links."
