Man tough decision lie ahead in 3A following Chatard's loss to Cathedral and Gibson Southern's loss at Southport. West Lafayette has the bad loss and Heritage Hills has rolled through cupcake city, but had some injuries against Jasper (as did GS, I believe).

GS loses to Southport 43-35

WL lost to Lafayette Jefferson 74-66

Chatard lost to Cathedral 31-21

IMHO

West Lafayette 1A

Chatard 1B

Gibson Southern 2

I think you need to jump on to ISC and watch a replay of the WL-Jeff game.  6A against 3A. 1st game of the season.  Two ranked teams in their class.  Athletes all over the field.  Despite the score, great defense played by both teams.  Eight point differential for the final score.  How is this a bad loss?

Polls have always been a quandry. Over the years, I have come to believe there are two trains of thought:

- What team has the best track record this season?

- What team do you think will be better in Weeks 10-15?

It's a nuanced difference and even college and professional rankings debate their power rankings... There were cases of Luers and Mater Dei (and I believe Cathedral) having losing or close to .500 regular season records. Everyone knew they were likely the best teams in their respective classes, but are they still deserving of top billing ... Thankfully we got rid of poll system, replaced it with the idiotic Cluster System that prevented undefeated teams from competing in the state tournament, and now have an inclusive system wherein anyone can win.

At least this week we can get some sort of Comparison across the state.

Chatard plays Southport and that should give us an idea of how strong Gibson Southern is.  It’s not a perfect comparison but it is something.  And by default when GS plays Heritage Hills next week we really should have a good idea.

And don't forget... Rensselaer ALWAYS plays WL tough!

Which is why I can't figure out why this game is worth only one point in the HC pick 'em.

Hadn't thought of the WM's!

Looking forward to chatting before or after the game for a few minutes.

WL does seem to be very efficient this year.
