Highlight game has to be Mishawaka at Central - both competing to win the North

NP - Adams some could say a trap game for NP - don't think the Adams D will stop the NP running game.

SJ - Penn  not the excitement in year past.  Not sure when SJ started a season 05.

Marian in contorl of the South

Marian over Bremen- Marian will control their own fate in going for a conference title

Concord over Jimtown- by the slimmest of Margins.  Concord highly overrated.

Elkhart over Mishawaka-  A must win for  Elkhart to  win the NIC North.

New Prairie over Adams- lots of point on the scoreboard for this game.

Penn over Saint Joseph- I've never seen such a drop off in talent as has happened at Saint Joseph

Riley over Clay-   contracction

Washington over Glenn=Chance for Washington to have a winning regular season.

YOu and many SJ alumni wonder the same.  The ICCL is not what it used to be.

Is there just 5  varsity teams in  the ICCL presently?  It seems as though in the past every parish school had a team.  This might account for the drop in talented players.

Right now there are 5 teams and one is a Christian based program out of Elkhart for a total of 6 teams

There are problems getting enough players to field teams.

Last year St Joe did not have a freshman team and Marian does not have one this year.  Like everywhere enrollment numbers are down.  And I am sure the concussion thing has many parents thinking twice as I have heard that from Dad's who played football.  On the same hand the numbers are there but is it developing what you have  and making it all come together.

There are a large number of Catholic kids playing on the Pop Warner teams, mainly the 5th & 6th graders.

That is what I had heard also. I know there is word going around on who could go in and pull them to their school. Heard there is even an undecided 8th grader on that team who is a true difference maker. A lot of talk about area teams wanting to get him. With some possible openings coming up in conference there could be some player movement this offseason.

Any idea on how the schedules will shift with Mishawaka leaving and Marian moving up to the North next year?

another aspect is how the is the schedule going to play out?  1st 4 non conference then 5 conference?

or will there be a week where a team will have a conference by

Not sure why Mishawaka never gets any respect with the few that post  in this thread.  No one took the Cavemen against a strong NP team ( many believed MHS would be beat by 3 scores).  It was was a great game could have gone either way. Now everyone is on the EC bandwagon and predicting a EC win over the Cavemen.  Cavemen by two scores. 35 to 21.

If there are 6 teams in a division and all conference games are weeks 5-9 it would make sense to play some crossover non-conference games to fill the schedule

Anyone from Jimtown hear what could happen to Jimtown and Concord?

The issue is when they try and keep some games after week 3 and can cause havoc with fining teams to play - right now Culver Academy and Benton Harbor could be choices for some schools

I was under the impression Saint Joseph/Lakeland began next season.  I could be wrong it they have a 4 year contract.

when the contract was 1st signed with Northridge I was told it was for 4 years but changes could take place.

SJ has played Lakeand many times in the past.
