Yes they are….but…

This might be a bigger challenge for the Crown Point bus driver than for their team.

This is WHAT those "North of US24" need to be doing!

Play schools outside of the area, and see how you compare.  The ability to learn and have a template for further competition, is NOT a weakness!

I honestly go back to the Noblesville 1st round game a few years back vs. an SAC Champion Homestead team to see the competition situation.

9-0 Homestead.  Then barely squeaking by a Noblesville team that was 1-8 in the HCC in OT.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Pike finished 5-5 after a meat grinder schedule. The far north teams still need to prove they can beat Indy area teams consistently.

That’s why I said “might.”

Good Move for Bulldogs

Hard to snag option for CP in week 2, Illinois is week 1, you saw what was available year 1 of Coach Buzz, then the cool opportunity for the Arizona game as a 1 off last year.

Playing Andrean doesn't make sense

Give me a BETTER one?  You absolutely know that I am correct in my assessment of 6A FB outside of the "donut"....

I'm not arguing that that the Indy burbs don't own 6A football. I'm just saying that Homestead's overtime victory over Noblesville is an "overrated" example. Homestead blew threw the SAC with a healthy Hardwick that year, by FAR the Spartan's MVP of the team. Losing him before the playoffs really hurt that them. You also have to look at the human element of a team that's 9-0 going up against an unfamiliar opponent that's 1-8. Something tells me that Homestead wasn't too jacked up to be in that game after a two hour drive.

While everyone is quick to bring that game to the forefront, no one seems to want to remember how Snider clobbered Warren Central two seasons ago or how Carroll took out the HCC's #1 team the year before that. Two years ago the HCC's #1 team bowed out to a team in the far Northwest corner. But hey, if you want to site a one off game from 2019, go right ahead. Was it an eye opener? Sure, I never said it wasn't. But it sure as hell doesn't tell the entire story.

Let me have it @temptation

Carroll won in a SNOWSTORM!  Get real!  (was HSE jacked after a 2 hour bus ride also?...same scenario as HHS had with Noblesville).  Then CHS got blasted at LOS.  (still proud of the Chargers for getting there

Last I checked, Snider didn't win a Blue ribbon.  So stop with the ridiculous stuff!

What 6A team north of 24 do you seriously think is winning at LOS at this time?

Not sure why you're getting your panties in a wad. All I said was that a game from six years ago was an overrated example.

Pretty sure the Snider team that I cited did win a blue ribbon, lol. Geeesh.

Either you're struggling to articulate yourself or I'm struggling to comprehend. Remind me again of they point you're trying to make. That teams up north need to schedule Indy teams? Been doing that for the past two seasons.

Then just agree with me, and stop quoting or "tempting" @temptation for some sort of response.  He'd agree with me.

I am a NORTHERN guy, and there's no defense for 6A football outside of scheduling better competition that doesn't include Indy or the "donut".

Snider didn't win one in 6A!   So I don't think that you hold any argument on that regard.  5A ain't 6A Football!  😆

Boxer briefs. Boxer briefs.  And is was 5 years ago.  We haven't begun 2025.

What am I agreeing with? Northern schools can't win the 6A title? I won't go that far, but I will agree that it's highly unlikely.

The north has had some good victories over Indy's finest the past few seasons. Not sure why citing that is considered "ridiculous." I brought something to the table other than your example five seasons ago.

He and I enjoy bantering about Homestead/Noblesville. And yes, 100%, he'll be on your side. You should appreciate me bringing him into this. Not to worry though, he appears to be taking a break.

They should wait to see who wins the Indy 8th Grade CYO Championship.    Pike, seriously?

Glad CP is playing Indy area teams.  Not easy to make schedules work and as stated, only so many 6A options in the state to play.  Hopefully. more to come!

That's a good pickup for both teams. You get the feeling that Pike could be a team on the rise. They're definitely always fast and athletic, and Coach Brevard has done a very nice job putting together a quality young staff. With Crown Point, you get a team that's building itself into a powerhouse up north. Win-Win for both schools (except for the travel).

Furthermore, there's typically something that goes into these decisions that isn't seen by the public eye. It's easy to criticize from the outside looking in. Sometimes it's just a matter of this staff having a good relationship with that staff and the desire to play other programs that share your values. Buzea's no dummy. In fact, he could make an argument for best coach in the state of Indiana. I'm sure he knew what he was doing when he picked up Pike.

I kow it'll never happen due to the longevity of the South Lake County rivalry game, but they need to drop Lowell. Regarding the Pike game, Crown Point is losing a lot talent from this year. Including a 4 year ( 2 at Hobart) starter at QB who is going to the MAC. We really don't know what Crown Point will look like next year. Regardless of who was actually avaialable to schedule around Indy in Week 2, playing Pike might be a better start to the season with an in-experienced group as opposed to going straight into the lions den with a Central Indiana power that just reloads every year.

On this one. I ABSOULETY agree with you.   Coach Buzea can see the challenges ahead, and Coach Brevard has a program that is coming into its'' own (IMO).  This is a good matchup for BOTH schools.
