2025 Turf

I've got Speedway for 2025... any others? big jump in the last two years... 8% so far.

Maybe an * but Scecina joins Ritter and Cathedral as teams with a turf practice (and JV/freshmen) field and no home field.

They're in blue. No homefields.

Jay County got a turf field prior to the 2024 season.  You have them listed in both sectional 20 and sectional 28.

Boone Grove also got turf before the 2024 season.

I don’t think Blackhawk Christian has a home field.

According to a GID contributor.  Blackhawk is now playing at Zollner Stadium (Concordia) which is turf.  Also, Snider plays at Spuller Stadium (Northrop)..Turf.

 

Concord is playing at Mishawaka (turf) and Elkhart (turf), while the "Jake" gets refurbished with turf.

Hammond Central has a home field, and it has turf.

South Putnam got a turf field in 2024.

I had Boone Groove and it got lost in transfer I think. Didn't know on Jay County, thank you. It was a tall task switching the sectionals 🤣🤣

3A- Knox, Glenn, River Forest, Bishop Noll, Mishawaka Marion, Lakeland, West Noble, Tipp Valley, Fairfield, Garrett, Peru, Western, Benton Central, Bellmont, FW Luers, West Vigo, Indy Wash, Guerin, Rushville, Scottsburg, North Harrison, Heritage Hills, Princeton, Vincennes. 

 

Some surprising names on this list, IMO, especially ones with immaculate basketball gyms.

Peru's field used to be mixture of cow pasture and bare dirt.  It was wonderful.

And what does immaculate basketball gyms, like Frankfort's Case Arena, have to do with whether or not a school has artificial turf?

Let me say that Guerin Catholic's field (turf) is Absolutely IMMACULATE!   Should keep natural grass.   I'm ALL for it!

As said earlier, Hammond Central has a new turf home field located behind the Hammond Civic Center. Opened in '23.

 

Gary West also now has turf. Has since 2022, I believe.

 

Boone Grove never had a home field and played at Valpo High for many years, but they built a turf field in 2023.

 

Bishop Noll renovated and started playing on turf last fall.
