Bobref Posted February 5 Posted February 5 So, who do you like in the Big Game? I know it’s not a marquee matchup, but we’ve got two teams who both rank in the top 10 in every major offensive and defensive category. Vegas has the Seahawks as 4.5 pt. favorites, with the O/U at 45.5. I’ll take the Patriots and the points, and the under. I expect a defensive game, relatively low scoring, like 21-20. The difference will be the Seahawks’ defensive line vs. the Patriots’ pass protection. Pats rank #23 in the league in sacks allowed, while Seattle is #8 in sacks made. Drake Maye is in for a long day. Quote
Komets2727 Posted February 5 Posted February 5 I got Seattle 24-14. Just think NE is going to have trouble moving the ball against Seattle Quote
Sparty Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Why is it not a marquee matchup? The 1 seed in the NFC vs. the 2 seed in the AFC. I’ll go against the grain and say NE will win. “Karma” for the folks who didn’t vote in BB and RC to the HOF. Quote
Bash Riprock Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Hawks win....happy for Darnold if they do...he's certainly paid his dues. 2 Quote
Muda69 Posted February 5 Posted February 5 I don't really care. Will probably sneak a peak at the game primarily for the commercials, then go back to catching up on episodes of Wonder Man on Disney+. Quote

My wife plays Commercial Bingo, let me know if you want in I also tend to lean towards the VET nature at the most key position, which is QB: Edge Seattle : Patriots Swagger under Vrabel is noted, and their DL is outstanding. Once again, IMO, games usually come down to the OL/DL play, which dictates how well QBs play many times. I have real good friends who are Patriots fans out east, so my heart is with them it seems. Lets go 28-27 Pats with Seattle missing a game winning FG ( I have seen the script ) Quote

gonzoron Posted February 5 Posted February 5 (edited) I'm cheering for the Seahawks just because they aren't the Patriots. 1 hour ago, Coach Nowlin said: My wife plays Commercial Bingo, let me know if you want in My wife and I used to play Choctaw Bingo every Friday night. So when the that usual funny DORITOS (or at least attempt of humor ) commercial comes on, she checks her bingo card and see if it's one she can X out. She gets silly dollar tree "prizes" for giggles. Her only thing she cares about for the "Big Game'. Took her and the daughter to my guys Bocce Ball Bar/Restaurant for his annual super bowl party 2 years ago, though they had commercial noise on it was too hard for her bingo and that has kept her away since. 1 hour ago, gonzoron said: I'm cheering for the Seahawks just because they aren't the Patriots. More than fair for many just like folks rooting against the Chiefs last few years .... Heavy is the Head that wears the Crown Quote
Bash Riprock Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Vrabel willing to make sacrifices to win another Super Bowl....says after 20 years of marriage. not really needed. But he is bragging a little...... https://people.com/patriots-coach-mike-vrabel-would-probably-cut-his-penis-in-half-for-another-super-bowl-11899359 Quote

Irishman Posted February 7 Posted February 7 I have no idea if I could ever find the post, but years ago, I remember suggesting on this digest that a real playoff in D1 could become more popular than the MBB March Madness and even the Super Bowl in popularity. welllllllllll 😀 Quote
Bobref Posted February 8 Author Posted February 8 (edited) Seen a lot lately discussing the halftime show(s), neither of which I’d forego a trip to the kitchen for. What’s the best Super Bowl halftime show? For me, it’s 2007 Prince in the pouring rain, and then all others. Far and away the best, and one of the greatest live concert performances of all time. If you say the Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction, you’re dead to me. Edited February 8 by Bobref 1 Quote
Bobref Posted February 8 Author Posted February 8 Who is attending some sort of party for the game. We always have people over. Gives me a chance to flex my kitchen muscles. Today’s bill of fare is wings (traditional buffalo and honey barbecue) along with brisket burnt ends chili. Laid in a big supply of Tums. 2 Quote

Seeing the scrolling of the names of those who lost their lives on 9/11 while they played Where the Streets Have No Name was so powerful. 1 Quote

23andCounting Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Thoughts on the game: Very little. Mostly watching snowboarding, curling, and figure skating. Thoughts on the Turning Point halftime: Country music, although very nice and refreshing, tends to bore me a little. Bawitdaba definitely stole the show. Overall a nice positive vibe..........kid friendly. Bad Bunny: Lost me after 30 seconds. Like 90% of America, I don't speak Spanish. Grabbing his crotch multiple times while his dancers graced our the audience, many of whom were children, left the moral compass of the entire thing in heavy doubt. Quote
Irishman Posted February 9 Posted February 9 The hit on Diggs out of bounds? Definitely missed that....and then the punch in the dust up after that too. Quote
Irishman Posted February 9 Posted February 9 There have been several big hits throughout the game. Seahawks defensive front has been the difference in this game. Quote
