23andCounting Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Any insider information as to why this game is happening? Not good for either program. Desperation move for both programs? Quote
Irishman Posted May 6 Posted May 6 More than likely only teams in 5A and/or 6A with that week open? That is my first thought. Timing of when the opening came to be for both programs factors into it as well. Quote

Irishman Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Wayne played SB Riley last year, but on harrell's site Edited the last part, a schedule shows up when I went back to the main page and clicked on the school. Quote
Irishman Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Could also be a ripple effect......Riley plays Valpo week 2 this year, who place Rice from Chicago last year. Two teams closer to each other deciding to play instead of travel? Quote

I would agree that there probably weren't many options for either team for them to schedule that one. No offense to Wayne, but it will be a running clock at some point..........possibly halftime. Both teams should treat it as a scrimmage. Perfect tune-up game for DC and an opportunity to work on some things. Wayne has to be careful not to let themselves get too beat up both physically and mentally. That being said, Wayne has had some gritty teams in the past........2018, 2014, 2009. Those teams would hit DC back. I just don't see it this year. Quote

Add North Side to that, they certainly don't need to "amp" up their schedule any more than what it is. My guess is that neither Wayne nor DC really had any other options. 1 Quote
