Interesting piece of information here - at the very least, Concord's previous schedule will see a shake up. In the past, they played Elkhart Memorial in an NLC conference game Week 2. There hasn't been any confirmation either way about how Mishawaka's schedule would be filled out next season in the NLC, but there was the possibility of them just slipping into Memorials slot and having OOC games in Week 1 and Week 6.

I wonder how much of the NLC schedule will see a shake up then, unless everything else stays the same and Concord/Mishawaka just meet in Week 6 when they previously faced on OOC opponent and Concord plays Elkhart Week 1 and then Jimtown in Week 2.

This was on the South Bend School Corp web site

Looks like the NIC conference games may run from week 5 though 9 next year for the most part.

Won't really know until all schedules are posted

How much of a threat is Elkhart to Penn post consolidation?

Given the nearly even playing field relative to enrollment, does Elkhart have as much or possibly more natural home grown talent to become the premier program in the area?

Did Elkhart move to quickly to name a new HC?

I like the game scheduled with Columbus East, that is big time out of conference game for them. Does CE return the favor with trip to Elkhart in 2021?

It'll be interesting next season that's for sure.

1.  What will the "new" Elkhart High bring to the gridiron?

2.  Will we see an improve Penn team?

3.  New Prairie graduates it's quarterback, who was a lot of their offense, what is coming back?

4.  How will Marian do join the "big" side of the conference?

5.  Will Saint Joe improve or are they in for another down year?

6.  Mishawaka had a good year, will they take a step up next season?

7.  What can be done to save the Clay football program?  Another new head coach, I believe that is 4 head coaches in 4 years.

8.  Can Adams get something going?  With the largest enrolment in SB, why are they underachieving on the East Side?

9.  Bremen was young, could they have a special year in 2A?

10. Jimtown will have a new head coach, can they get back to being a state contender?

11.  Glenn showed bits of improvement this season, will next year be another step up.

12.  Riley was a big disappoint this last year.  At times, looked good and other times not so good.  Will the South Side rise up?

Jimtown and Clay jobs still open. Any word on timetables for filling either of these spots? With interim coach at Riley this year, 3 of the NIC South will have new HC's.  Should be a wide open battle for top spot in the South.

I think Glenn is the team to beat in the South this year. They return some good players, Jimtown loses talent, and Marian is moving to the North.

So are there any good fits locally for these jobs.

Glenn showed some signs of life at times and then did things to make you scratch your head. It would be nice to see a solid season from the Falcons. Bremen was young and should be exponentially better this year.  Jimtown and Washington had a lot of seniors so will need to rebuild in a hurry. Riley could be sitting in a nice spot heading into the fall.

Recent woes at Clay make that a tough sell. It would be nice if a young coach from the area could take it over and turn it around but i could see building an experienced staff being difficult in this scenario.

Jimtown is a totally different bird. This is an important hire at this time....admins must decide whether they want to keep with the Baugo faithful and what they have known or branch out in their thinking/style of play. I think this is a tough hire but hopefully they find their right man.

Clay may be hard to fill since who knows what the SB schools are going to do as far as buildings etc.

Jimtown is surprising since they could pick up a couple of kids who do not want to go to the new, bigger, Elkhart and could play at J'town.  Interesting not much seems to be happening

This is a real possibility. I know Jimtown numbers are lowering every year.  This might lead to an uptick. Interesting to see what happens.

Definite possibility. Could be advantageous for a few schools...Jimtown, Concord, Northridge at first glance, potentially Penn, Edwardsburg, SJ, Marian

Looks like Clay may interview a dozen or more for the job...so it seems it won’t be that hard to fill

Not sure the number of applicants will equal quality candidates.  They'll get it "filled", but will it be a good hire that MIGHT have the opportunity to at least change the culture, skills, ability, etc.  Obviously the fine arts magnet being at Clay hinders the football program, but no one wants to talk about that!
