Gipper
With all of these good teams, it would be a crime (almost) for ESPN for not to air a Webb City (MO)-Robert Service (AK) game instead of the usual IMG Academy (FL)-Hampton (VA) tilt. Small school football is just as exciting...
Fan90
8 man football...not a real game..I am sure that is what they think in traditional pwerhouse football states like Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, and Florida. All of whom field 8 man football teams. To me, it seems these states who truely love the game of football, will find a way to play not matter what! Heck, even this past season 8 schools from northwest Ohio decided to create an 8 man league just so thier schools could continue to play..https://spectrumnews1.com/oh/columbus/news/2019/09/19/smaller-high-schools-resort-to-8-man-football 3 2

gahoosierfan
Georgia has a lot of really good 7A schools. I would list the top ones as Lowndes County (Valdosta), Colquitt County ( Moultrie), Grayson, Parkview (Decatur), Marietta, and McEachern (Powder Springs). Valdosta was ranked by stadiumtalk.com as the best program in Georgia. I believe that's from a historical perspective.

I believe that's from a historical perspective. Valdosta was dominant for decades, but they have dropped off. They are no longer in the largest school category. They are 6A now I believe. They are an independent city school district and there has been a lot of population shift to their Lowndes County schools.

Isn't there also a good D-II or III school there?

This past year Marietta won in 7A and Harrison out of Kennesaw won in 6A over Allatoona. My son played football at Harrison and his daughter played 4 years varsity soccer at Allatoona.
