I don't think that will be the case, Muda..... I think Tri-West, Danville, North Montgomery, Southmont, Crawfordsville, Frankfort, and Lebanon will finish in there too.

He will get at least one right this way.  Probably a good strategy for him.

Everyone will talk about replacing Wright, and for good reason, but I think how they are able to reload on the offensive line as a huge key in whether or not they can re-peat as conference and/or sectional champs.

The key for Webo will be finding playmakers.  They’ll be able to grind it out with Taylor and Oline.   But without Hole, Wright, Wethington, Etc., who makes the big plays on offense?  Defense will be solid.  Must replace starters in secondary.

TW is ready for a breakout season plenty of weapons on offense and most of front seven back on defense.  Offensive line depth and secondary are main concerns.

Danville returns entire team but loses a lot in Schubert.  He was the guy!  Passing game should be solid with QB Payne returning plus Wynn, Wooten, Dostin, and others.

Lebanon will be solid with Harker returning and others.

North Montgomery has several seniors in main roles last year.  Should be rebuilding year.

Southmont, Crawfordsville, Frankfort???  Who knows?

This could be a year where champion has one or more losses.

Is North Montgomery and Frankfort the only two schools that will be without field turf now?

I hope so.  Field turf at the high school level is an unnecessary extravagance.

Watched a little (about the first half) of Western Boone scrimmage on YouTube.  Thought they looked like the 2nd best team on the field although it looked to be reasonably competitive.  It doesn't look like the coaches were very happy with the team afterwards by the look of the Twitter account either.

I take the scrimmages with a grain of salt.  There is no film watched prior, no schemeing, just line up and play... Move kids around and try to get a feel.  Speedway had some athletes and had some speed.

I’m not basing this statement on just the loss to Sheridan, but I think Webo has their work cut out for them to place 4th or higher in conference this year (let alone come out as the champions).  Yes Robbie Taylor looked good last year but he had a fantastic line in front of him.

I was surprised by Sheridans win vs Webo... is Sheridan much improved ? Webo not quite in game form ? ... any insight ?

From what it looked like on Sheridan maxpreps, they return quite a bit of skilled kids.

Western Boone lost a ton from last season.  I think this result may say more about what Western Boone lost than how much Sheridan improved.  This game was a 35-point Western Boone win last year.

You would say though Sheridan has improved some though right?

I would think so.  I just don't follow that program enough to guess at how much.  I'd love to see Bud Wright add another championship or two before he hangs it up though.

Sheridan has the potential to have one of the best offenses in 1A.  Hovey was leading the state in rushing yards last year before he broke his clavicle, and he is even bigger this season.  That game on Friday was an incredible bout between two teams that realized it was going to be won in the trenches.  Western Boone deserved to win just as much as Sheridan.  They were two incredibly even teams on Friday.  We'll see as the season goes on, but Sheridan has a triple threat in their backfield.  Between Hovey, Sophomore Peyton Cross, and QB Devaney, they will be a problem for many teams this season.
