I sure hope that Indiana will be progressing with more caution than some other schools that have already opened when kids get back in the buildings. Here's a picture of a high school hallway in Georgia on the second day of classes. The guidelines for that school are that "masks are a personal choice" and that social distancing "would not be possible to enforce ..." The first picture is the "one way" hallway and the second is one of the limited two-way hallways. The superintendent says that the pictures "lack context," but unless there's a raging fire somewhere and all of these kids are fleeing for their lives or unless these students are all part of an experiment test group or unless this picture is from fall 2019, I'm not sure what type of context puts a positive direction on it. Surely the local health dept would allow more than that at places that big. Kyle Sokeland on twitter clarified that each section of Bleachers could hold 250 people. I would assume that the 250 would also be < 50%. My interpretation of what IHSAA has said: If a bleacher section has 20 seats in a row and 20 rows, the maximum capacity for that section would be 200. (50% of 400) If the section is 30 rows, the capacity would be 250 (even though 300 is 50% capacity.) Again, these are my interpretations of the capacity. There appears to be 13 sections on the home side/ endzone of the Bowl. How Reitz will make sure there aren't more than 3,250 people in those sections?? They got 2 weeks to figure that out! It will be. Plus. That’s kind of an odd picture to allow kids faces like that in media.

That’s kind of an odd picture to allow kids faces like that in media. I wondered the same thing. Perhaps student privacy falls below the ability of adults to publicly shame school administrators on our priorities list? (PS - This is not directed at Foxbat, whose opinion I respect. I just saw the two above photos, along with the students in front of a Georgia HS at least 30 times on social media the last two days. I believe the photo in front of the HS was from the schools public social media post and the students were aware of the photo. I'm not sure you could argue that any of these students knew they were being photographed and published.)

My guess it's taken by a student and then disseminated from there. The schools in my area are requiring facemasks in accordance with the state guidelines. The sections seem to be pretty big so I'm sure at least 200 could safely fit in each section. Then you also have up to 250 in those opposite visitor bleachers. And that still would not even be close to 50% capacity for the Bowl, which is why I feel that the local health dept might approve them to allow more in. I think the county health departments will make stadium by stadium judgments by working with the ADs. Depending who is running each health department, I could see how the fan "rules" could vary widely.

It will be interesting to see how they manage the areas people like to stand and watch at the small schools. Place markers on the ground as a standing spot and place them six feet apart? Most small schools have really small visitor bleachers, how will those spots be given out?

I was wondering about our area like that just today. My guess is ...and it is just a guess....you will be told to mask up and social distance in those areas or law enforcement will move you or ask you to leave.

I worry about the close talkers, the people that have to stand on top of you to talk to you. These people have to feel so uncomfortable right now, probably feel like they need to yell all the time. 😂 I would say your guess is close, maybe without the law enforcement asking anyone to leave. I can't see our county sheriff saying he is not going to legally enforce people to wear mask and then escort out a parent or family member because they keep moving to close to other fans that don't seem to mind. I think you will only see things being enforced if someone complains.

I don't know if they will enforce or if staff will enforce it but my gut feeling is there will be some pretty strict control on this. You can follow the rules or go home....being a spectator this year will be a privilege. Inevitably some red neck is going to say it's his constitutional right to breathe on everyone.....I don't think there will be any tolerance for "that guy" this season.

This idea of" being a spectator is a privilege "would be a great slogan for the IHSAA during this time.
Mayo77
I thought IHSAA came out with best plan they could for fans. Just hope schools put a big emphasis on senior families and senior students attending games.

It did say staggered entry was possible for schools with only 1 entrance. But the big thing I read in addition to the 250 per bleacher the total limit at each facility is 500includimg players, band, etc... If they adhere to the 500 counting players people could sit 25 feet apart at the bowl.
