Let's take that number compared to the 330,000,000 Americans.  That would be a shade under 20,000,000 people.  I hope that doesn't include someone you care about...

I mean.. yeah I hope it wouldn't either?

If you think 300 million people are going to get this... not sure what to tell you.

Well how many do you think are going to get it?  The question is how many deaths are we willing to say is enough before people start to take this seriously.  The deaths aren't as concerning as the fact that we don't know the long term effects even if you are asymptomatic.  Plus how long do the antibodies last?  Can you catch it again?  I would much rather see us be overly cautious until we have a vaccine that works than the opposite.  As we learn more about the virus then we can maybe let go of some of the mitigation.  But I do agree we shouldn't live in fear but we need to live in respect.

I work in health care - not direct though but have worked and worn a mass daily.  All you have to do is follow the guidelines.  Wear a mask in public.  Do not cough or sneeze where particles go into the air/cover it.  Wash your hands and sanitize.  But too many do not feel they need to do this.  And will people who have symptoms report them?

This was creative. And necessary.

Could someone ask the IHSAA why they kept the 10 practice rule in effect this year?  It has really screwed some small schools.

All the practice rules should have been thrown out this year.  If you wanted teams to actually be able to play, that is.

The 10 practice rule is for safety purposes. Waiving it is out of the question.

Is it your position that the 10 practice rule is unnecessary generally, or just that it should be waived this year because of special circumstances?

Both. And my opinion is based off the of MULTIPLE athletic trainers mentioning it is a silly rule.

I get why it's there.. but that's just over policing. Not a fan.

Bring a kid back too early and they get hurt.  Who's going to protect you, the coach, in court?  Not the IHSAA and by not following these rules you aren't watching out for kids you are watching out for your own selfish needs.

I take it you feel the rule is unnecessary now because of the ability to have organized workouts basically year round? It’s a hangover from the “old” days?

That would be a fair amount of it. I just think.. we are coaches, teachers, we have athletic trainers.. parents are involved... we dont need a blanket "10 practices" and you're boom ready to go. Idk I'm not a fan.

I dont think its the most egregious rule ever.. just not one I'm a fan of.

I'm not going to rush a kid bad, neither are athletic trainers. And yes, I do understand that not everyone will operate under the rules, but they don't always now, so we're punishing the ones who do.

Could you PLEASE stick to the topic? People looking for games don’t want to see this bogged down by other topics.

Week 3 New Haven vs DeKalb has been cancelled by DeKalb, so New Haven is looking for a week 3 game.
