9-18:  4A No 4 Hobart (3-1) at 4A No. 9 Lowell (4-0) has been cancelled.      A positive Covid test at Lowell.

Saw that—got the email from the Tri-Creek School District.   Let’s offer up some prayers for this young man and his family.

Consider me confused.

On September 25, Roncalli was supposed to play Brebeuf in a Circle City Conference game.  A CONFERENCE GAME.

Per the most recent update, this game has been cancelled and Roncalli is now playing Lafayette Harrison.

Brebeuf is, apparently, just sitting out that weekend?

Why?

Preemptive COVID-19 infections?

I ain't gonna lie ... while I share your confusion as to the strange change in schedule, that's going to be a cool match-up for Harrison.  I'm hoping its across all the levels as my son plays on the freshman team for Harrison and that weekend was vacant due to the recent Muncie Central quarantine.  Also looks like it's going to be a home game for Harrison, so I'll maybe get a chance to see that one ... and maybe even both varsity and freshman if all levels are scheduled.

Thanks.

Brebeuf’s cancellation today (9/18) was missing both here and on the currently posted schedule.

It appeared they were playing this weekend vs. Culver YET skipping next weekend vs. Roncalli (which, I think, would have been a hellacious game).

Roncalli is much improved this season....yet still taking polls as to what other people decide that they need call themselves.

Hopefully they are not so indefinite in their Catholicism....

Roncalli versus Harrison is varsity only.  The Roncalli (not the Rebels) JV and freshman play Cathedral on September 26.  The Roncalli freshman do play Lafayette Jefferson on October 10.

Looks like Harrison's freshman are going to play West Central's JV squad tomorrow.  While it's not a perfect scenario, the freshman are getting a chance to play some guys that are somewhat bigger and also have some playing experience under their belt, so I think it provides a better alternative that just sitting idle over the weekend.

I guarantee West Central's JV is primarily Freshman.

I figured as much, but there are some experienced kids that they'd get to play against.  Kind of had the same issue on Monday when Harrison's freshman played Seeger's JV after the weekend's opponent fell through.  I'm just happy to see the kids getting some reps in game play ... even though I could really use a free weekend to get some work done.  😀
