CIC Week 2

Recommended Posts

Week 2, last warm-up before conference play.

Took a hard hit in the conference in week 1 with Eastbrook getting the only W.  Week 2 will be more promising hopefully.  M-G not playing again this week, hope they get healthy and able to start next week.

Couple of rival games this week, Lapel v Frankton and Tipton v Elwood, would hope for good games but not holding my breath.

Blackford at Eastern
Delta at Eastbrook
Lapel at Frankton
Mississinewa at New Haven
Oak Hill at Southwood
Tipton at Elwood
Wabash at Alexandria

Good luck to all teams, stay healthy, safe travels and always practice good Sportsmanship.

Blackford at Eastern--Blackford's numbers are down and almost so low that having a season this year was in question.  Eastern is pretty good has some depth. Eastern takes this one by at least 3 TDs

Delta at Eastbrook--This is Delta's first game of the season.  Delta has a good program and has destroyed Eastbrook in the past.  This year Eastbrook has once again reloaded and remembers what Delta has done in the past.  Eastbrook destroyed Marion last week, but Marion is down this year but still has talent.  Eastbrook wins this one by 3 TDs.

Lapel at Frankton--A little preview of what a future CIC team can do.  Frankton and Lapel should join and be one school but they won't.  If they did they would be a powerhouse.  Frankton has improved but not enough to beat Lapel as Lapel wins by 2 TDs.

Oak Hill at Southwood--Southwood is a very very good team this year.  Oak Hill is still trying to figure out what they have.  Southwood wins by 4 TDs

Tipton at Elwood--Elwood has another new coach.  Unfortunately Elwood still doesn't have much as Tipton plays the JV most of the second half as they win by 5 TDs

Wabash at Alexandria--This may be the best game of the week.  Both teams appear to be evenly matched.  Being at Alexandria advantage goes to Alex.  Alex wins by 3.

Mississinewa at New Haven--Mississinewa has size and athletes once again.  The new coach is trying to get things figured out but with his background it won't take long.  All the same assistant coach's but some are in different roles this year.  New Haven beat Garrett last week.  If Mississnewa can get the offense going then the game will be close.  However, New Haven wins by 2 TDs.

Eastbrook has only played Delta twice.  Last year the Panthers got shellacked.  However, Delta took it on the chin in 2018.  To say Delta has destroyed Eastbrook in the past makes it sound like they've beaten up on us numerous times.  We are 1-1 against a good 4A team and Friday will be the rub match.  The Sagarin ratings have it dead even.  Eastbrook might be a 1 point favorite because of home field advantage but it should be a good game.

The only team that has been destroyed in the past is Mississinewa by Eastbrook!!  The Indians will be lucky to finish second in the conference this year.

Blackford@Eastern-  Going to be a rough go for Blackford.  Eastern by 4 TD's.  Unfortunately Blackford won't have enough to put in a second string so the starters will continue to get beat up for the full game.  This might make their numbers decrease further as the year goes on.

Delta@Eastbrook-  This will be Eastbrook's most challenging regular season game.  Delta returns almost everyone from a dominating performance last year.  Last year Eastbrook was in a similar boat as Mississinewa is this year.  Talented but young and still trying to figure it all out.  It was also maybe the least amount of heart I'd seen an Eastbrook team play with in years.  That all got corrected and should come in ready to fight this year.  With us being at home I'll pick Eastbrook by 1 TD.

Lapel@Frankton- Lapel has been consistent the last several years.  Lapel by 3 TD's

Oak Hill@Southwood-  Oak Hill was shutout last week but Eastern is a pretty decent team.  We'll see if they got anything figured out offensively this week.  Defense must be fairly good to hold Eastern to 13.  Still taking Southwood by 1TD.

Tipton@Elwood-  Tipton will be tough this year and wins by as much as they want.

Wabash@Alexandria-  Don't know much about Wabash but really want to pick a CIC team so Alexandria by 1TD

Mississinewa@New Haven-  I think Mississinewa will still be trying to figure things out this week.  New Haven by 2 TD's.    A couple games against good competition should help a lot.  Big week next week.

Delta just announced that they had 2 positive COVID cases and have quarantined 79.  Wonder if the football game is still a go tonight?

Mississinewa players are only allowed 1 parent each to attend in person at New Haven.

Good Luck to ALL CIC teams tonight.

As of right now yes it is. That didn’t effect the varsity. But you can never be 100% until the ball is kicked in this day.

Frankton vs lapel. Why waste the money? Lapel seem to have thumped up on Hamilton heights last week and Frankton has yet to figure out if you run the ball you can maybe keep your not very good team in some ball games. But they just throw the ball around and get beat by a tri-central team that will be lucky to win 4 games this year. Line looks terrible and kids play with no heart early. Going to be a long year!
