Interesting that St. X has new OC Andrew Coverdale.  Is that the same guy who replaced John Lidy at Castle and left after 3 years?  As I recall, the main issue was his use of 2 words no Castle person wanted to hear in the early 2000s: “passing game”....

Any relation to David Coverdale of Whitesnake?

Serious question for Indy PP Supporters.

Do the Ohio schools respect the Indy Catholics?

Many Indiana high school football fans , regardless of PP or Public standing, have great respect and even reverence for names like Moeller, St X, St Ignatius, etc.  Add Louisiville Trinity to that list.

Do the Ohio and KY fans feel the same way about Cathedral and Chatard, and to a lesser degree Roncalli?  Or do they view the Indy PPs as a lesser version of themselves?

Just curious

Yes. Had some great chats with the Elder faithful at The Pit parking lot last year about this. Kyle Rudolph’s parents  were very complimentary of our budding rivalries with the GCL. St. X might not view Cathedral as formidable since they are 17-2 against us, but out games are always close. Even our home/away with St. Ed’s two years ago was a great success.

Elder/Moeller/Lasalle have had great games with the Irish and really the Top Tier 6A publics. Bottom line is the GCL gets the same P/P scorn as the the Indy Catholics. We appreciate the chance to compete with each other. We make each other stronger for the tourney series. #inthistogether

Featuring the great (and crazed) Tawny Kitaen....who apparently has a helluva punch per Chuck Finley.

Im trying to figure out who the guitar players are for David in this video.  The bass player is the great Rudy Sarzo, who also played with Twiested Sister, Ozzie Osborne, Ronnie James Dio and many others.  Is that Vivien Campbell, now with Def Leppard for many years?  Another of Coverdales great guitar players was Doug Aldrich, but this was before his time I believe.

But they view you as equals?  They can respect you, and also look down their nose at you at the same time.  the two are not mutually exclusive my friend.

Honestly, I could talk about Merle, Waylon (married to the HOT Jessi Colter) Willie, Cash, “No Show” Jones....and Emerson Lake and Palmer (go figure..) with definitive authority but not so much 80s hair bands.

I just had (have) a thing for Tawny Kitaen since seeing her in “Bachelor Party” while I was living in Detroit an eon ago.....up until I learned she could throw a haymaker....not that that made her entirely unattractive.....rather the arrest photo did.

If you were a man with a registered pulse, you could not take your eyes off of Tawny in that video.  She opened the doors for scores of other hot babes to appear in videos with Motley Crue, Poison, Warrant, Ratt, etc.  It was a fun time.  I felt very badly for her when seeing pictures of her bad plastic surgery and her crazy domestic run ins.  The pressure on growing old must have been immense on the vixens that blessed the MTV screens in the glorious 80s

C'mon man...........he was around WAY before the 80's:

Nobody really had heard of Coverdal until he broke out as a solo artist in the 80s, thanks to MTV.  I was never a big fam, but have gained a greater appreciation for him over the years.  Hes very talented, and always has great musicians in his band.  Im more of a guitar guy.  And Richie Blackmore would certainly never ever let Coverdale get to big in DP.  Same as Ted Nugent wouldnt let the great Derek St Holmes outshine him, but he did every night on statge

Some friends of mine (along with me) have done roughly 300 movie review podcasts over the last 8 or so years of our favorite “Mancave” movies.

One of our defining questions we always ask concerning any female lead in those movies is “Would the movie have been better if Tawny Kitaen was the lead?”

I have, at all times, answered in the affirmative....life in general is better with Tawny Kitaen....so long as I can still “bob and weave“.

Same here. Speaking of guitars and Deep Purple.............Taken from the October 2012 release of 'Remachined - A tribute to Deep Purple's Machine Head', this track features Australian rock superstar Jimmy Barnes & guitar virtuoso Joe Bonamassa.

Great stuff Lysander

Here are a few of my favorite "Mancave" movies.  Would you cast Tawny in any of them?

Manhunter - she might have to be a victim in one of the home movies.  Not sure I could allow that.

Miami Vice - Collin Farrels love interest

Blow - Johnny Depps wife

Goodfellas - Ray Liottas girlfriend Janice.  They kind of look alike

Casino - Sharon Stones part

The Deerhunter - ?????

Pulp Fiction - sorry, nobody bumps Uma

Kill Bill - sorry again, Uma reigns supreme

Django Unchained - Leo's sister

Heat - Chris's wife

The Godfather - Sonny's girlfriend

The Town - girl in the bank

Very cool.  Joe is a blazer.  I love "Just got Paid", just learned it on my Ibanez.  I like Joe's tone a little better on the Gibson Les paul than on the Strat.  Either way, he shreads.

Wellll....since we have entirely derailed the thread...Tawny would improve them all.  I have to be consistent.

BTW, As regards your list, if you haven’t seen “Hell or High Water” you should give it a look.  Taylor Sheridan is a helluva writer....and has also put forth the brilliant “Yellowstone” series (Kelly Reilly of Yellowstone, actually, could not be replaced by Tawny, btw.  Reilly is amazing from many perspectives...deserves an Emmy).

25-22 Irish.

Satisfying win no doubt but really felt Cathedral had a chance at a statement win as they should have won that game going away rather than holding on for dear life. Really thought Cathedral was the better at just about every position but 11 penalties and 3 turnovers allowed the Bombers to stay at bay until the very end.

The Irish had chances to put it away but the defense really got it done at the end.  In fact we got to celebrate the win twice.

Next up on the Irish GCL schedule is LaSalle.  This one won't be easy either.

Congrats to the Irish on getting the W. Sometimes even the best teams need a wake up call to know they aren't invisible. Good to see Cathedral and Center Grove having such great years. Indiana deserves some respect for it's high school football in the Midwest and nationally -- and it doesn't have to come at the cost of being a football or basketball state. Success in both at the highest levels helps all levels of HS players in Indiana have a better chance at playing at the next recruiters -- getting recruiting services and coaches' attention.

The Irish were dealt some adversity last night and responded. Losing the turnover battle to an excellent team rarely goes the right way. Yet, these Irish dug deep. The Irish defense won the game for us last night. A timely interception and some clutch stops deep in Irish territory were the difference makers.

There were certainly a bevy of mistakes to end the half to let the Bombers back in to the game at 15-15. However, Irish D clamped down to hold St. X to one second half score. The Irish kicker is a real weapon. Ben Gomez has some great range knocking down I believe a 34 yard field goal that was good from 50 and on the left hashmark.

Nathan McCahill had his first pedestrian outing breaking his 300yd passing streak, but his feet did the talking on a couple crucial 3rd downs. Cam Jordan is 2 touchdowns away from breaking Cathedral’s career receiving TD record.

Onward in the gauntlet to nationally-ranked Cincinnati LaSalle at Arlington next Friday.

At Arlington? Even in a COVID-restricted year, one would think there's a better facility in Marion County to play -- would even consider moving this to a Saturday for a better venue.

Arlington is now the 'unofficial' home field for Cathedral football, and at one point will be our home field for good (if it hasn't changed already).  I loved the games at Tech...where most of our home games were played and miss not playing there anymore.
