I think those airplane kills are wrong, unless they were sitting on a tarmac:  https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-02-05/us-fighter-jet-that-hit-chinese-balloon-scored-its-first-air-to-air-takedown

The downing of China’s alleged spy balloon marked the first time the F-22 Raptor fighter jet brought down an airborne target since it debuted in combat in Syria and Iraq almost a decade ago, defense analysts said.

Shooting down China’s balloon was indeed the F-22’s first air-to-air kill,” Rebecca Grant, an Air Force systems specialist and president of IRIS Independent Research, said by email in response to questions. “Americans watched an unfriendly aircraft get shot down over our skies.”

....

The Pentagon spent $67 billion to buy 187 of the supersonic jets.

What a colossal waste of money.

A $200,000,000 Stealth Fighter (in case the balloon was armed I'm sure) fired a nearly $400,000 missile at a balloon.  (After it left US land and would have completed any surveillance it was conducting)

Yep.  Would have been cheaper to send a venerable and proven A-10 Warthog to shoot the thing down with it's autocannon.
