So you think Tri-West is more likely to go North into 28 than Chatard?  Could be, just interested in your thoughts there?

That is one of the toughest calls.  Looking at the map it could go either way, and I thought I would send Tri-West north with Crawfordsville/North Montgomery.  We have seen the committee's propensity to lump the P/Ps together in sectionals in the past, which would argue for Chatard in 28, but from strictly a geographic perspective it is a tossup.  One of them will have to go North, will be very interesting to see which one it is.

I agree with most of this. Except for two things. Take Out South Vermillion (2A) and replace them with Danville. I also think the Tri-West will go North to sectional 28 and Chatard could possibly take their spot in sectional 29 or instead of Chatard they could move another team from Indy there.

My stab at 4A

17: East Chicago, Hammond Gavit, Hammond Morton, Gary West, Highland, Griffith, Hobart, Lowell
18: Kankakee Valley, New Prairie, Culver Academy, Plymouth, SB Riley, SB St. Joseph, SB Clay, NorthWood
19: Northridge, Wawasee, East Noble, Angola, DeKalb, Columbia City, Leo, New Haven
20: FW South, FW Wayne, Huntington North, Logansport, Western, Marion, Mississinewa, Delta
21: Northview, Martinsville, Mooresville, Cathedral, Roncalli, Crispus Attucks, Shortridge, Beech Grove
22: New Castle, Greenfield-Central, Mt. Vernon, Pendleton Heights, Muncie Central, Frankfort, Lebanon
23: Madison, Jennings County, East Central, South Dearborn, Shelbyville, Connersville, Richmond, Greenwood
24: Ev. Reitz, Ev. Memorial, Ev. Harrison, Ev. Central, Boonville, Jasper, Silver Creek

3A has a LOT of gray area, especially in the north. Lots of clumps of 5-6 schools together. The realignment committee has its work cut out for it.

25: Hammond Clark, Hammond, Calumet, River Forest, Hanover Central, Knox, Glenn, SB Washington
26: Mishawka Marian, Jimtown, Tippecanoe Valley, West Noble, Lakeland, Garrett, FW Concordia, Heritage
27: Bellmont, Norwell, Peru, Northwestern, Maconaquah, Oak Hill, Yorktown, Hamilton Heights
28: Benton Central, West Lafayette, North Montgomery, Crawfordsville, Guerin Catholic, Brebeuf, Twin Lakes
29: Sullivan, Edgewood, Owen Valley, West Vigo, Greencastle, Danville, Tri-West, I.Ritter
30: Lawrenceburg, Batesville, Franklin County, Greensburg, Rushville, I.Manual, I.Washington, I.Chatard
31: Corydon, North Harrison, Salem, Scottsburg, Charlestown, Brownstown Central, Brown County, Southridge
32: Mt. Vernon (P), Ev. Bosse, Heritage Hills, Gibson Southern, Princeton, PIke Central, Vincennes, Washington

I don't see Jay County in the 4A breakdown.

With luers, laville, andrean and pioneer added to the north, Tipton most likely rolls south again this cycle as well

It would be interesting to compare the teams moving out of 2A to the teams coming in but just by looking at a map I would guess Tipton is a lock to head north.  You have teams like South Vermillion, Southmont, Monrovia, Seeger, and Howe coming into 2A as well that would all seem more likely to head south than Tipton would.

A stab at 1A
41: Gary Roosevelt, Lake Station, South Central, North Judson, Culver, West Central, Winamac, Triton
42: North White, Tri-County, Frontier, Carroll (F), Caston, South Newton, Lafayette Catholic, Clinton Central
43: Fremont, Churubusco, Adams Central, South Adams, Southern Wells, Southwood, Northfield, North Miami
44: Indiana Deaf,  Park Tudor, Traders Point, Sheridan, Madison-Grant, Tri-Central, Taylor, Clinton Prairie
45: Wes-Del, Knightstown, Tri, Cambridge City Lincoln, Hagerstown, Anderson Prep, Monroe Central, Union City
46: Edinburgh, North Decatur, South Decatur, Milan, Oldenburg Academy, Lutheran, Tindley, Covenant Christian
47: Cloverdale, South Putnam, Riverton Parke, Parke Heritage, North Vermillion, Fountain Central, Covington, Attica
48: Tecumseh, Perry Central, North Central (F), Springs Valley, West Washington, North Daviess, Eastern Greene, Rock Creek

44 and 45 will be intriguing. A few of the schools in this mock Sectional 45 were in the north last cycle, including us. I could see them sending Indy (Indiana Deaf, Traders Point, Park Tutor) south, and keeping Union City, Monroe Central, Wes-Del north.

Logansport, Plymouth, Marion, KV, F'fort, Western, Culver Academies and Mississinawa

Angola, Wayne, South, Huntington, Dekalb, CC, New Haven and Leo

43:  Anderson Prep, Clinton Central, Clinton Prairie, Madison Grant, Sheridan, Taylor, Tri-Central, Wes-Del

44:  Adams Central, Churubusco, Fremont, Knightstown, Northfield, South Adams, Southern Wells, Southwood

Oh that would be fun, KV to Marion or Mississinawa    Yes please!!!     because I am not paying bus fees !!

Probably only about a 30-45 min difference then what they have been typically sent, KV that is, over to South Bend, but more easy road travel there then to Gas City or Marion

love this time of year !!

Cheers friends

There will be "one" school operating under one number beginning in 2020-2021. There will only be one softball team for Elkhart, one swimming team, etc-that all begins that school year. The next year, 2021-2022, is when the merged campuses will officially open (grades 10-12 at current Memorial location, grade 9 at current Central location). There is only one more school year, 2019-2020, of Memorial and Central fielding their own teams.

SO what happens to Memorial athletics with Mishawaka joining the NLC in 20-21 I believe?

@Indian72 see @CoachMiller response. Memorial and Central athletics will merge starting the 2020-2021 season under the one Elkhart High School. There will be no disruption for Memorial athletics in 2020-2021 because there will not longer be a Memorial athletics department.

Correction:  Knightstown moved to south... Wes-Del replaces them in 44. Take your pick.......either Monroe Central or Union City in 43

Have to agree with my friend Knight82.  The odds are it's either Tri-West or Chatard heading to 28....and knowing the IHSAA my bet is on Chatard.

Fixed 29.

Geographically, there are nine teams in "Da Region."  One of them has to move out east.  Gonna come down to the KV versus Hobart argument.  Furthest south, KV has no great travel path out east but easily works their way up I-65.  Hobart can jump on 30 or 94, saving 20-30 minutes of travel time.  Has to play a factor in the decision.

My stab at 2A. Again, things are a bit tricky in the south.

33: Whiting, Hammond Noll, Gary Bowman, Andrean, Wheeler, Boone Grove, North Newton, Rensselaer
34: LaVille, Bremen, Fairfield, Central Noble, Prairie Heights, Eastside, Woodlan, FW Luers,
35: Rochester, Pioneer, Delphi, Cass, Wabash, Manchester, Whitko, Bluffton
36: Eastbrook, Blackford, Eastern (H), Tipton, Frankton, Lapel, Winchester, Elwood
37: Northeastern, Union County, Centerville, Eastern Hancock, Triton Central, Heritage Christian, Scecina, Shenandoah, I. Howe
38: Seeger, South Vermillion, Southmont, Western Boone, North Putnam, Cascade, Monrovia, Speedway,
39: Mitchell, Paoli, Eastern, Clarksville, Providence, Switzerland County, Pekin Eastern, Triton Central
40: North Posey, Ev. Mater Dei, South Spencer, Tell City, Linton, North Knox, Forest Park, Crawford County

Not sure what happened there but that's corrected now.

If you zoom in, the ones on top of each other are separated. Each school's site is marked with a pin and some are pretty close together.

You've got 9 teams in 37.

Fremont to Knightstown would be one heck of a drive for a Sectional opener. I can see North Miami coming back into the area like they used to be.

Tri-West has only gone North one time in 1A 1991 & 1992.  I vote for Chatard to go North.  It will be up to the 3A committee.  Hopeful there's no one from the 3A North or West Lafayette on it.  Put them in the "Region" sectional.  They can hop on I-65 after school and be there by kickoff.  State cops can escort them before they guard the tailgate party.
