Most Hoosiers may not have realized there was an Indiana connection to Robert Tonyan Jr.'s standout performance in Week 4 for the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football. 

Unless you're an avid follower of the Indiana State Sycamores, fans likely didn't know he started out as a quarterback in college football and didn't play tight end until he reached the NFL.

After redshirting in 2012, Tonyan threw a 57-yard touchdown in his debut for the Sycamores against the Indiana Hoosiers and started three games under center in 2013.  

Tonyan made the switch to wide receiver in 2014 and finished his Indiana State career with 2,047 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns over the next three seasons.

Football fans tuning in Monday night saw Tonyan play tight end and score three touchdowns in the Packers' 30-16 win over the Atlanta Falcons.

Tonyan isn't a stranger to scoring three touchdowns in a game. 

For the Sycamores, Tonyan posted nine catches for 117 yards and three scores against Illinois State in 2015.

If that wasn't enough, Tonyan struck again his senior season with eight catches for 90 yards and three touchdowns against the Minnesota Golden Gophers in 2016.   

Tonyan definitely caught NFL fans' attention Monday night.

Tonyan has recently become Aaron Rodgers' new security blanket with wide receiver Davante Adams missing two games for the Packers.

In three starts for Green Bay, Tonyan has caught 13 of 14 passes for 173 yards in 2020 and is tied with Tampa Bay's Mike Evans with a league-leading five touchdown receptions.
