I would expect half the HNAC teams to be playing for sectional titles on November 6, and at least 2 to claim titles.  Triton and Caston are toast in Sectional 44, although the Comets could get a sectional win for the first time since 2014!  The Trojans are a long shot against Busco, but I wouldn't use pen to write the team from Turtletown into the semis.  Winamac and NJ should battle for the Sectional 41 title, eliminating Culver along the way.  But it's Judson's to lose in my opinion.  Pioneer and LaVille should get their 2020 meeting in the semis as the Panthers cruise to the Sectional 34 title.  And Knox has a chance to claim the Sectional 25 crown if they can pull things together.  They got a favorable draw.

It's an exciting time of the year and we're fortunate for all the HNAC teams able to participate in the tourney!

Knox 50 BC 13 - Skins too much for the struggling Bison.

Laville 24 Cass 13 - I think this game will be much closer than some expect but believe the Lancers will pull through with the W.

Pioneer 42 Delphi 18 - Pioneer rolls through a good Delphi team.

Winamac 20 South Central 19 - This game is a toss up but going with the HNAC team.

Culver 42 Lake Station 20 - Culver will control the game and clock and expect Lake Station to have a few break out plays.

North Judson 60 West Central 6 - North Judson looks to get back in sync after a tough loss to a tremendous Pioneer team.

Triton 13 Busco 12 - Another toss up game for me but going with the HNAC team.

Caston 38 North Miami 20 - Look for Caston to get their first sectional win in a few years.

Looking for all the HNAC teams to get a W this week!!!

Knox at Benton Central - Time for Knox to come alive and make a run!  Radtke will have them ready and they'll win big this week.  Knox 31-7
LaVille at Cass - Lewis Cass has played the toughest schedule of any team in the 2A north (according to Sagarin).  This has potential to be an upset, especially with Cass at home.  But I'm hoping for the Pioneer / LaVille matchup next week, so I'm taking the Lancers in a close one.  LaVille 23-21
Delphi at Pioneer - No reason to think this one will be close.  Panthers will hold serve at The Pit.  Pioneer 42-7
Winamac at South Central - I expect a close one here.  The Warriors will need to play mistake-free football.  What do they say... if you can end every possession with a kick, you'll be fine.  I think that applies here.  Winamac 28-14
Culver at Lake Station - How many yards can Shuman rack up in this one?  I suspect he'll have a good night and the Cavs will put a lot of points on the board.  Hopefully their D can get a stop or two.  Culver in a runaway.  Culver 33-6
North Judson at West Central - Judson will be focused and ready to begin a deep playoff run.  They won't have any trouble with the Trojans.  Hopefully everyone stays healthy for the Jays.  North Judson 56-0
Churubusco at Triton - LCC is the only team from the 1A north that has played a more difficult schedule than Triton.  But then again, the Trojans got hammered by the best teams they played, so I'm not sure that is relevant.  Coming off of two disappointing losses in the last two weeks, the question is how will the Trojans respond?  They are young at key positions, so you never know what you're going to get.  But there are some seniors on this team who can hold their own.  If they can rally the underclassmen, I could see a Triton win at home.  But I'm going with the Eagles in this one.  Busco 28-17
North Miami at Caston - Can the Comets finally get a sectional win after several one-and-outs?  They're a 20 point favorite according to Sagarin's predictor rating.  I think they'll step up to the challenge and win a big game this week!  I'll definitely be pulling for the Comets.  Caston 26-13

Great article from the Indy Star about Pioneer's Lewellen twins.

It's hard not to like your opponents once you get to know a little about them.  Everyone has a story and they are all unique and interesting!  I'm glad this story got told and wish I could hear many other stories about kids on other teams.

Lol. Winamac's D gave up 2 tds to LaVille and gave up 3 to NJ.

They've played well all season and has given them a chance in every game.

Great job by the HNAC last night!  Good to see everyone pull off the W.

I was impressed by the Trojans.  They dominated Busco for 3 quarters.  Wore out a little in the 4th and let the Eagles get a couple of scores, but overall a very good performance!  Triton was Busco's first 1A opponent all year and I wonder if they might have come in a little flat.  In any case, very proud of the guys last night!

Winamac had a tight one, but it looks like everyone else took care of business pretty easily.  Even Caston had a pretty nice lead in their game.  Got a little closer in the 4th, but hats off to them for their first sectional win in a while.

Pioneer at LaVille next week.  Looking forward to that one!

That was a good win for Triton...

really happy for the Caston kids. Didn't have Hickle or Sullivan either.

LaVille kept it on the ground against LaVille. I think the first two times dill touched the ball he on offense he scooted for TDS. Bettcher and DeWitt looked good. Glad to see Ayden Doyle out there on D. Cass battled tough but their offensive line couldnt get any push besides Moss and Tyler Johnson... Meister, Tyson Johnson and Lytle played their hearts out too. LJ Hillis and Cam Frye are gonna be good ones.

Really pumped for the Warriors. Heard Russell Compton played a great game on D. The D and Special teams came up big Friday night. Trent Fox, Hayden Clark, Compton and Jaden Terry did well on offense....off for the week... Good week to heal some bumps and bruises and prepare for North Judson for the sectional title. @CoachDurhamwish both teams could have battled this up and coming week!

How about the HNAC!

All eight teams pick up a victory.

So very happy for Coach Porter and the Caston Comets . . .  nice work guys

And Triton, not expected to win . . . . got off to a good start and held off Churubusco.  Kudos, gentlemen!

Knox, Pioneer, NJSP, and LaVille continue to a consistent 'Business As Usual' beat.

There is a reason they call it special teams.  Just ask Winamac.

Friday, Oct. 23
Knox 56, Benton Central 22
LaVille 27, Cass 0
Pioneer 38, Delphi 8
Winamac 21, South Central 14
Culver 48, Lake Station 29
North Judson 54, West Central 0
Triton 24, Churubusco 14
Caston 34, North Miami 28

Now its time for sectional semifinals

Friday, Oct. 30

Pioneer at LaVille, 7:30 pm
Culver at North Judson, 7:30 pm
Triton at Adams Central, 7 pm
Caston at Southwood, 7 pm

You think Pioneer will beat Laville by that much?  There is no way it will be nearly that bad!  I belkieve it will be within 2 scores and if Laville can score first, I think they have a shot of upsetting them.

I also do not see NJ beating Culver that bad this time either.

Yes.

Pioneer's D line will be able to put pressure on LaVille's QB. Their secondary is gonna make it hard for receivers to get open.

Pioneer's run defense is gonna be able to handle and stop their run game.

I could maybe see it close for a Q then Pioneer will pull away.

I will be curious to see which Laville offense comes out. The ground and pound they were able to employ against Cass was drastically different than what they ran against Knox a few weeks ago where they could have passed on every play if they wanted to. It will be a great game and atmosphere and both teams will be ready to play come kickoff.

The real question is will Laville's concession stands be doing anything different for Friday night. I will say, I was highly disappointed at North Judson a couple weeks ago when I found out they weren't doing their steak sandwiches at the game a couple weeks ago.

Very interesting!!  Does this keep Pioneer on their heels because of not knowing??     Do the Lancers take down the Panthers finally!   Lewellen;s from what I have personly witnessed do not and i repeat do not like contact!!!!       This folks is gonna be a ball game....
