In theme of what has transpired last 12 months or so, this has not been a typical year, I would suspect it is taking extra time to get thigns figured out with some many moving parts on how students are being accounted for and educated since school began in July/August 2020. But yes, usually by end of January the classifications would be official . He reported that the IHSAA was notified in December that the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament would be played in Indiana at different venues including Lucas Oil Stadium, Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Hinkle Fieldhouse, Indiana Farmers Coliseum, Purdue University’s Mackey Arena, and Indiana University’s Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. We've added Providence and WW, hoping to add Clarksville the following year. Now our main goal is putting a team on the field that's fun and competitive to watch. Our fields have been leveled now it's just a matter of time with seeding, funding for lights/scoreboard etc.

Right, I did have some corrections to make to the original list I posted here - take out Barr-Reeve, add in Rock Creek, etc. I keep a spreadsheet that I have made updates to, I just haven’t posted them here. Since official numbers are normally posted by the IHSAA sometime in January, I figured it would be best to just wait until those are released. 1

Sectional 25 had a hole in it and West Lafayette makes more geographic sense than anyone else to fill it I think with Benton Central and Twin Lakes already in it as well. I put Mississinewa in Sectional 30 rather than 27 partially because they fit in geographically with schools like Alexandria and Northwestern and I think that program could beef up that sectional a little. Sectional 28 looks a little different with Chatard moving up. I put Western Boone in their spot and while I moved West Lafayette to 25, I shifted Tri-West from 29 to 28 so it still looks plenty tough to me. As for balance, I count 11 teams in the "new" 3A that finished in the top 100 in Sagarin in 2020. All 8 sectionals has at least one and only one (Sectional 28) has 3. I'd love to move one of those 3 to a different sectional but can't figure out a way to do it that makes sense. I think the teams in 31 and 32 pretty much have to be where they are based on geography but that's just from me looking at a map. That's the part of the state I'm least familiar with. Any thoughts? Complaints? Expand Thought about starting a separate thread for Southern 3A sectional alignment possibilities ...but this could/would serve the same purpose. Don't hate what you have down here - but I think it could be improved. (I don't believe you can but Missinneswea and Alexandia in the SOUTHERN sectionals....also, believe you left off some teams)Here is what I've come up with and reasoning with it. Sectional 29 (we'll call this the "Indy Sectional") - Danville, WeBo, Tri-West, Ritter, Indian Creek, Indy Washington, Manual, and Guerin Catholic Sectional 30 (HAD to be fixed. We'll call this the "come on up Highway 41 Sectional) - West Vigo, Washington, Princeton, Gibson Southern, Vincennes Lincoln, Edgewood, Greencastle, and Brown County Sectional 31 (We'll call this Eastern Indiana) - Franklin County, Lawrenceburg, North Harrison, Batesville, Charleston, Scottsburg, Owen Valley, and Rushville. *Not sure about the competitive balance here..but I think it's better than the ol Sectional 30... Sectional 32 (What's left in Southern Indiana) - Corydon, Salem, Pike Central, Southridge, Heritage Hills, Bosse, Mt. Vernon Section 25 Hammond Clark is closed due to consolidation. oldtimeqb
EVSC (Evansville) sent out a message this morning stating : Quote The state of Indiana is requiring school districts to collect proof of Indiana residency documentation for all students. To comply, we are asking you to submit documentation that shows your name and current address via EVSC Parent Access. Documentation may include a: • Current utility bill • Telephone bill • Tax return • Bank or mortgage statement • Rental/lease agreement • Medical bill or • Other information that shows your current address. Documentation cannot be more than 60 days old and must show the date, parent/guardian name and an address. You may take a picture of the document or upload a file. If you are unable to upload documentation, please provide your school with a copy as soon as possible. BDGiant93
Makes for some messy travel in 6A Sectionals. Lafayette Jeff probably has to go up I-65 and Noblesville up I-69 if Crimsonace's great enrollment projections are correct.

Yeah IF those numbers are accurate (they probably aren't 100%) this is what I see as the best option for 6A sectionals (tough breaks for Lafayette Jeff and Noblesville you are correct): Sectional 1: Crown Point, Hammond, Lafayette Jeff, Lake Central Sectional 2: Chesterton, Elkhart, Penn, Portage Sectional 3: Carroll (FW), Homestead, Noblesville, Warsaw Sectional 4: Carmel, Fishers, HSE, Westfield Sectional 5: Avon, Brownsburg, Pike, Zionsville Sectional 6: Ben Davis, Perry Meridian, Southport, Tech Sectional 7: Lawrence Central, Lawrence North, North Central, Warren Central Sectional 8: Center Grove, Columbus North, Franklin Central, Jeffersonville Not many changes already compared to what they were this last season. You just sub in Hammond for Merrillville in Sectional 1, Noblesville for FW Snider in Sectional 3, Jeffersonville for Columbus East in Sectional 8. Then Carmel moves back north into Sectional 4 replacing Noblesville and Zionsville slides in for Carmel into Sectional 5 (where there were in 2019 when playing in 6A). Harrison (west Lafayette) may have a shot of being put into 6A. Their enrollment is right on that edge

I didn't mind it that much when it was McCutcheon getting knocked out by Harrison by end of sectionals. 😃

Sooner or later, 6A will be 75% or more of Indy Metro area schools with a few from other parts of Indeander
