There is new turf at Ames Field, new bleachers in the Wolves Den, over $100,000 spent to improve their weight room, and a new design for the Wolf Head Symbol. This person said their athletic program has quality coaches throughout and could take off big time. Tommy Posted June 20, 2021 Share Posted June 20, 2021 $5.6 million dollar in capital improvements was announced in February. Turf replacement at Ames Field, after 50 years new bleachers in the 7,600 seat high school gym, new track at the high school, new roof on one of the elementary schools, and the one I have been complaining about for the last 15 years, new asphalt in the south parking lot at the high school. LaSalle Lions 1976 Posted June 21, 2021 Share Posted June 21, 2021 I was teaching a MC when the new Ames was coming together. It was a grass field installed by the "Sodfather" Roger Bossert. The roots were about a foot deep. Man that was a beautiful field. But turf is the way to go now. Good to see all the upgrades...well needed.
