Which Schools Would You Like to See Have Football?

Recommended Posts

In a perfect world, every kid would get the chance to play high school football at their school. Obviously, for many factors, thats not realistic for most schools. Of the schools that do not currently have football as a Varsity sport offering, which schools do you feel like could have a successful high school football program? Interesting topic to stir up some thoughts!

Are there any notable larger HS in Indiana that don’t have football?

I feel like the only ones without football are the really small schools that are heavy into basketball anyways

As a man who went to Wabash College….I’m sure the football team there would be glad to run joint practices

Hey if Oldenburg Academy can field a football team, never ever think impossible with St. Mary of the Woods.

I'd like to see Indiana 'get with the program' and allow communities to merge their FB teams, and allow schools without FB to let their students play for a nearby team.

I once lived in southeastern washington and my middle school classmates at the time would later go on to win a state title I think under 4b which the lowest group and then B group for being joint teams.

3 towns of Dayton, Waitsburg, and Prescott.

Had I stayed there into HS, I would have been the 13th kid for the graduating senior class.  Entire senior class both boys and girls…13 kids.

without that rule and sub classification, there wouldn’t have been football…or maybe not any sports.  One of my classmates actually went on to play college ball somewhere in Oregon and then got to play professionally overseas for a football team out of Prague.  Crazy how 1 little thing such as allowing joint sports teams can completely change the path for someone’s life

Selfishly I’d like to see Hebron, Kouts, Morgan Township, westville, MC Marquette, and Washington Township start football and get whiting back in 1a so they can win sectionals again.

Give them the Covenant Christian (Demotte) kids too or make them play at KV?

Greenwood Christian Academy is starting a program in the next several years. They're really good across all sports at the 1A level and gives Johnson County kids a private-school alternative to Roncalli.

Thats great they are in the process of starting a program. Who do they have as the coach starting it off? In that area, I am sure they have a great pool of coaches to choose from. Johnson County Football traditionally, with the addition of Roncalli nearby, produces solid Football teams - CG, Whiteland, Indian Creek, Greenwood & Franklin have shown flashes.

Not sure they've decided yet! Absolutely, lots of good players and coaches in the area!

Not sure about successful on the field, but definitely successful in helping teach young men valuable life lessons: Smith Academy for Excellence in Fort Wayne.

Actually, as I was typing this, I decided to pull up their school's website, and under the athletics page, it says they have previously participated in flag football and are currently trying to put together an IHSAA sanctioned contact team! Would be great to see a school that is TRULY dedicated to setting up young men for a good future to have a football program.

I would love to see Alexandria, Blackford, Elwood, Frankton, Madison Grant, and Oak Hill all get football teams.  That way the CIC would improve as a conference.

Good point.  Or you should just go independent.  Travel around the state and play schools from the Region, FW, Indy and Southern Indiana.

Eastbrook - Andrean

Eastbrook - Marian

Eastbrook - Jimtown

Eastbrook - Leo

Eastbrook - Chatard

Eastbrook - Culver Military

Eastbrook - West Lafayette

All kinds of opportunities
