2022 Sagamore Athletic Conference Thread

Long time listener first time writer...

4 Way Tie atop the conference

Tri-West has the head-to-head with Western Boone

Western Boone has the head-to-head against Southmont

Lebanon has the head-to-head with Tri-West

Lebanon lost to Danville who has two losses.

South plays Lebanon and Tri-West these last two weeks.

Western Boone has Danville and Lebanon.

Lebanon has the two mentioned above.

Tri-West has South and Crawfordsville.

Things are heating up these last two weeks of conference play.  Who runs away with it?

P.S. trying to fire up some chatter in here!

Is there really a way forward for these two perennial Sagamore bottom dwellers to at least be competitive in conference play, or are they destined to be perennial whipping boys in football while their athletic departments rely on conference success/competitiveness in other sports (soccer, basketball, baseball, etc.)?

Webo & Tri-West Share the Conference Title.

Going into Sectionals 4 of them play each other 1st round.  Lebanon & Frankfort both with a tough draws... Danville/TW round one is tough as it's a big rivalry game... Danville has struggled the last couple of weeks so it will be interesting to see how this one goes.  The North Montgomery and Speedway game could be the game of the week.  Webo gets Crawfordsville and South gets North Knox (have no idea other that they are 4-5 and will see a heavy dose of Woodall & Chadd.

North Montgomery 8, Danville 6. Thoughts?

Ouch...

Danville's offense has significantly underperformed all season long. They are averaging 21 points per game.. but have only scored over 21 points TWICE! Once vs....Crawfordsville. And once against....Frankfort. 😴  5 times this season they have scored 14 points or less.

Their defense has been fine but weird year for Danville altogether. They struggled mightily, uncharacteristically, to the Montgomery County teams other than Crawfordsville. Upset win over Lebanon was the highlight of the season and they were close to beating Tri-West too.
