Next time in the Fort Wayne area, I would recommend VooDoo. It is part of the Winner's Circle OTB in New Haven. Great Cajun food.

We were in a hurry due to the drive time and had to catch fast food in Rochester.   Outside of the truck stop meal it ranks at the bottom of our list.

That would be tough, but I can say that the crawfish po-boy over rice at Papa Roux ranks among the best meals I had anywhere all year.

No, some kind of roasted turkey sandwich that was not very good.

Several people have told me that.    The only problem I would have there is my love for horse racing would probably make the meal real expensive.

Judging from the looks of your schedule you might not ever find yourself attending a Monrovia Football game but if you were to head to Gordon Hadley field in the future Dawg House Pizza right on main Street (just a stones throw from the HS and field)  is a MUST still the best pizza I have ever had pretty cool small town restaurant atmosphere as well.  I live in Indy now but my wife and I get a little nostalgic about once a month and make the trek in for it!

On a side note to this, Whiteshoes, I’ve discovered some of the best food or meals were found at the games themselves. Circa 2000, I remembered at LN or LC, just inside the gates, a small vender was smoking pork and shredded it for sandwiches, but also had the best rib tips. Also at a game in southern zone, in the gates ,a guy was grilling very good rib steak sandwiches on the best rolls, not store bought. That was a 2 sandwich game. Have you ever in your travels, run into on site food finds?

Unfortunately I have found the quality at the Pizza Shack to have declined over our last several visits.  Unless something turns around I probably won't be back.

Yes, Eastbrook serves the best rib-eye sandwiches that you will find.     Also had the ribs at I believe Lawrence Central, they were awesome.

May be enough to get me to drive the distance to Monrovia.   That and they play some mighty good football down there.

Delta - Green Diamond Restaurant - Order the "Big Larry" tenderloin.  It's life changing!

You do know where Whiteshoes is from don't you? Where the breaded tenderloin was born, Huntington Indiana, where it all got started.

Sounds like an interesting challenge.    Will have to look for a game in that area next year to determine the winner.

I miss Mugg-n-pye.  Seems like people were either all dawghouse or all Mugg-n-pye.  I was certainly a Mugg-n-pye guy and was sad to see it go.  Still very good eats at Dawghouse!

Dawg House's breadsticks though!!!:02_v:

Will most likely start when the 2018 schedules are posted on Harrell's site, another Huntington guy.    We were looking at the Battle of the Border in Shreveport, Louisiana as our road trip next season but it appears one of our group has a daughter getting married that weekend, so it may have to wait until the following year.    St. Louis has an Illinois-St. Louis three game event and there is always the Skyline Crosstown Showdown in Cincinnati as road trip options.    We will most likely make that call in June/July.

My favorite away game eatery is Lincoln''s Carry Outs in Hobart.  My favorite home game eatery is the Danny Bruce Disabled American Veterans Post 38 Friday Fish Fry on Ohio St. in Michigan City, the Catfish is the bomb, the ladies auxiliary members will hook you up good and are very nice.
