Loogootee wanted to play keep away in the fourth quarter up 12 and Loogootee isn't very good at it. If I remember correctly I believe Loogootee had five turnovers that lead to a score in a row. Had a one and one down two with 1.0 on the clock missed the backend.

Ouch.  Tough way to end a season.

Word on the street is Chezem left a senior off the sectional roster. While he has been hurt and not played all year it is still a jerk thing to do in my opinion. Coach Chezem sure isn't making any friends around these parts.

On to the games. I think Orleans will keep it close through the majority of the game, but I see Barr-Reeve pulling the win out. Loogootee has been up and down all year and it would not surprise me to see them lose to Rivet. With that being said I think the Lions pull out an ugly game and move on to Saturday.

It occurs to me that for a place that is supposed to be tough on coaches Loogootee has been amazingly tolerant with coach Chezem. I mean consider all of the things that have happened that would usually get a coached canned:

1. Never beat the biggest rival.

2. Lose to the one team you can't lose to (Shoals in this case).

3. Play your son more than his ability merits (especially his freshman year).

4. Lose a double digit lead in the 4th quarter (long time Lions fans would almost literally have never seen that).

5. See dwindling fan support during the season.

I don't think one person in that gym thought that would be the final outcome at the end of 3.  Wagoner carried his team for most of the game, leading the Lions with energy, scoring and even some great flopping.  The last missed free throw didn't lose this for the Lions, the poor coaching and turnovers doomed them.  Loogootee had 2 turnovers through the first 3 quarters and then had 6 in the 4th quarter alone.  The ironic thing is I thought free throws would hurt the Vikings but they were 9 of 11 and the Lions were only 3 of 10.

I've been a supporter of Coach Chezem and I've thought he was one of the better coaches in the area. However, reason 1, 2, and 4 have made my support dwindle along with the being told he has absolutely nothing to do with the lower grades doesn't run camps/clinics for the little kids. I don't think he personally is in it for the long haul.
