Forest Park at Heritage Hills

Recommended Posts

Forest Park 13-2 at Heritage Hills 16-2, The Patriots don't have another game before this one but Forest Park has
a game at 11-4 Wood Memorial before this one.

This is a huge conference game between two of the taller and more athletic teams in the area. It also pits a matchup between two of the top freshman Curt Hopf of Forest Park and Blake Sisley of Heritage Hills.

The 2 head coaches are two of the better defenseive minded coaches around and when Coach Hawkins was head coach
at Forest Park Coach Litherland was one of his assistants so they should know each others tendencies.

The last time these two teams both had really good records for this game was the 2003-2004 season the Patriots came
in 15-1 and Rangers 14-2 that season.Patriots jumped out to a 50-21 halftime lead and scored the first 2
of the 2nd half and were up 31 points early 3rd quarter,Forest Park took control from that point, forced overtime
and came away with a 81-77 overtime win I heard at the time it was the biggest comeback in IHSAA history.I always
think about that game when people talk about mercy rules.

That loss put the Patriots in a tailspin and after starting 15-1 would go 4-4 the last 8 games including a 59-55
loss to eventual state champion Evansville Mater Dei in championship game of sectional, The same Mater Dei team
the Patriots defeated 91-78 in the regular season.

I cannot wait to feel the atmosphere of this game.  2 really good teams.  I would guess the largest attendance at HH in quite some time.  Better get there early.

It was a electric atmosphere at Heritage Hills a packed house and one of the loudest crowds I have witnessed at HH in a long time.
JV game got the night off with Heritage Hills winning 63-58 in double overtime.

In the Varsity Heritage Hills led 20-15 after the first quarter, It was Heritage Hills 32 Forest Park 27 at halftime, after 3 quarters in was Heritage Hills 48 Forest Park 38 and the final Heritage Hills 69 Forest Park 52.

Heritage Hills scoring.

Mitchel Becher 20
Murray Becher 16
Blake Sisley 13
Simon Scherry 9
Dylan Belgle 5
Carter Meunier 5
Carson Liebering 1

Forest Park only had one player in double figures Englert with 13, Lusk scored 9 and Hochgsang added 8.

Heritage Hills varsity improves to 17-2 and JV improves to 17-1. j

Arguably the best game Mitchel Becher has played. Great decision-making on offense and very, very good defense. His 3 at the end of the 3rd was a real dagger. Took a 7 pt lead up to 10 & put momentum squarely behind HH going to the 4th.

overall, the defense for HH was very good after giving up a few things early.

Patriots cannot rest on their laurels. Another opponent undefeated in conference awaits tonight at Pike Central.

No longer unbeaten PC lost to Tell city in double overtime last night  but your point is still valid.

Mitchell Becher did exactly everything that was needed.  His decision making was outstanding and has been all year.  A senior doing whatever it takes.
