North South All-Star teams

Recommended Posts

I see the IFCA state coaches clinic was this weekend.

Does anybody have the list of the North-South All Star selections.  Am interested to see who we are going to be Cheering on in July.

I think availability to play in the game was an important factor.

A lot of D1 teams don’t want their athletes to play in the game. Taylor and Adams from Ben Davis didn’t make the teams either. I’m sure Obermeier would have been selected but Ball St. wanted him to enroll and start working out right after graduation.

Coach Hart asked my son if he would be interested.  Its a pretty good group of kids on the list.  He was thrilled to be considered.

Great honor to be considered and named on the team, but IMO, having this in July does not make sense.  I am sure there are good reason but why push out 8+ months from the end of the season?

MUCH more difficult to organize any other time!  We cannot compete with basketball in this state.  And finding a facility with dorms and organizing the event during the school year would be a logistical nightmare.

Yeah I forget that now  days some college coaches prefer there recruits to not play and those players are replaced with others. I always think about 1981 if Heritage Hills  Bruce King skips the North-South game he most likely doesn't end up in the NFL. Purdue recruited him as a Linebacker  but after watching him earn MVP honors  and scoring the winning touchdown  for the South the Purdue coaching staff had a change of heart and moved him to Fullback the position that eventually got him to the NFL.
