Coaching changes

Recommended Posts

Has it ever happened that a head coach took a new job and brought his kid who's already in high school. Does ihsaa allow that?

Yes that's happened.   Lafayette Jeff's new Bball coach has two HS aged kids who he'll be bringing with him, both averaged double digits last year I believe.

Did they move into the district?

I'm pretty sure they did given that Jeff's coach is coming from Bryant High in Alabama.  That's one heck of a commute if they didn't. :07_v:

Even if they didn't if both schools sign off on the transfer then IHSAA more than likely won't do anything nor should they.

Our Girls Basketball coach lives outside our district, but both him and his wife teach here, and both their girls play varsity sports here without issue

Most schools have open borders these days.

IHSAA by laws permit any certified employee's children to transfer without restrictions.

Right, so it makes no difference whether the school they are leaving signs off or not.
